I cannot recommend their Grooming team, especially Megan enough. He's never looked better. My dog is a very specific bread so for them to know how to style his cuts, is great for me. I recently moved to the city, and honestly the 35 minute drive is STILL worth it!!! I would recommend grooming and boarding here 1 million times. Truly. Hats off to Amanda and the front office team.

Please don't make the same mistake!…read more It has been too hard to type these words out, as I come to the reality of life without my best friend, Duke, our chocolate lab puppy who died due to an outbreak of Parainfluenza (aka Kennel Cough) at Pawcienda. Duke was at Pawcienda for training with Stephen, and also enrolled in the doggie day care. He was exposed to Parainfluenza from another dog at their doggie day care, but I was lead to believe it wasn't serious and that he should be fine in a few days. Before this he was a healthy dog and had all of his vaccinations. They weren't going to take him to the vet, but my wife made them! We now know that by law a kennel/boarding facility has to take a dog to the vet, so this was the first red flag! The vet realized it was bad and had turned into Pneumonia, so they rushed Duke to a critical care vet, VRCC. During this time I was on the phone with the owner, Jeff, and he told me that they had cases of Kennel Cough for 2 weeks! That means that this was going on before I even brought Duke to Pawcienda, and they placed their business above the welfare of my dog. If we had been made aware we could have prevented all of this! Duke died 2 days after we were made aware of him being exposed to Kennel Cough. This is very unusual, so an investigation by Animal Control was opened, and a Necropsy was performed. The findings of the Necropsy determined that Duke had Kennel cough for 4 - 6 days prior to death. This evidence proves that Duke was exposed much earlier than we were lead to believe. In addition during the investigation the animal control officer was informed that they had put up a sign alerting people to ongoing Kennel Cough on a Friday, and we were not notified until Monday. This along with the Necropsy results shows that he was there all weekend with Kennel Cough and either A) was not being monitored closely enough to recognize the signs, or B) they were negligent in not providing care to a sick dog early enough to prevent death. Since Duke's death we have found out that this is a serious outbreak of Kennel Cough, that has killed many dogs in NJ, and has now started to spread in Virginia. Please avoid having this happen to your dog, and avoid Pawcienda.

Received services back in June to assist in training my JRT. Training was 80% talk. Talking about what BB stands for...theory about being the alpha and making noises to correct a dog's behavior. The techniques are so antiquated. Other trainers I have worked with can't believe I went to Bark Busters for help. Working with other trainers has actually led to results. Results I was hoping to see from BB. What really gets me is that after the 2 sessions, I have never heard from Bark Busters. Not the company, nor the trainer. I guess they do not stand by their word or contract. Like Steve Miller sang, " Go on and take the money and run". I will never ever recommend Bark Busters. For those of you who have had success, cheers. Our experience..or lack of...was very underwhelming to say the least.

Lee is an amazing dog trainer. I've had and loved dogs my entire life but I've never had any so…read morewell behaved as the two that Lee has helped us to train. My husband and I adopted 2 black labs that were bred to be working dogs for TSA. The dogs didn't make the cut so we adopted a brother and sister when they were one year old. We've now had them four months and what Lee has done and taught us to do is beyond believable. When we brought the dogs home they had never been in a house, only in a kennel their entire life. They were not potty trained, were not good on the leash, and didn't know even the basic commands such as sit, stay, come. They barked in their crates non stop and would go potty in the house AFTER being brought in from outside. The male dog would not look us in the face and was afraid of the garage and the car and had to be picked up and put in the car for vet visits. He was 60 plus pounds at the time so needles to say he only went to the vet when my husband or sons could put him in the car. We phoned Lee and that's the best call we've every made. He came into the room and his presence alone prompted very different behavior in our furry babies. He worked with them, taught us to work with them, answered my emails usually within an hour or so, but always the same day, and has had several follow up visits. Every single visit with Lee resulted in marked improvement. Fast forward four months to present day and now our guys will go their crates simply by saying "crate". They rarely if every bark in their crates and if so all I have to say is "quiet". They ring a bell on the door when they need to go potty. They don't bark at the neighbors any longer. They sit, stay and come. Walking them on a leash is easy easy easy now. They go through the garage and jump into the car now. The icing on the cake is that now when the doorbell rings they bark, but when I say "It's ok", they go sit at the top of the landing on the stairs. The male dog not only looks us in the face now but brings big sloppy kisses all the time! They are loving, confident, secure and a source of pure joy to us. They are so well behaved that they had their first visit to the dog park yesterday and did beautifully. A man was passing out hot dog bites to the dogs and they were jumping and climbing all over him. Our sweet girl sat in the middle of them and waited for him to give her a bite...no jumping, climbing, barking, just sitting beautifully until it was her turn. Our dogs would not be as happy and we would not be as happy if we had not phoned Lee at Bark Busters to help us. It's a joy to watch him train the dogs. It's obvious he has a true love of animals and our dogs love their time with him.

Dave has helped me more times than I can count and is the reason that my dog is an absolute angel. I am a better owner because of all he's taught me. Dave takes the time to really explain why your dog is behaving a certain way, making sure you as the owner understands it completely, and fixes it. I would VERY highly recommend Dave to any dog owner that is having even the smallest issue. Slightly off topic but needs to be mentioned, I'm a bit confused how the 1 star review below is even still on this page. Everything about that review is inaccurate and I couldn't take it seriously after the 4th word of overpriced. Canine Karma Training has extremely reasonable pricing for the Nassau/ Suffolk area compared to other training companies. That review screams fake account as it was only created to leave this review then went on to 5 star review chinese take out places the same day. Chinese take out places should never be a 5 star but that's a story for another day. Come on Yelp, clean up the trash
