Love this place best buffet in Columbia. My family goes here around once a week. Weekends they have frog legs

This is the second Chinese restaurants we've tried, so far, both were not good. The quality of the meat is nearly inedible. It's a combination of fat and filler, or breading. The rice and vegetables are good, but we won't be returning to this or the other. We're wondering if we will have to drive to Franklin for our Chinese food. Very disappointing. read more

I've been craving a good ole fashioned Chinese Buffet for a very long time. I'm shocked that this place only has 2 stars...it's a Chinese buffet....lol... not sure what these other people expect. Salty, luke warm food is expected and was exactly what I was craving. My favorite thing at any buffet is chicken on a stick and the little sugary dessert bun things. No idea what those are, but did I eat 4? ....yes. Staff and servers were great! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. Could the place be a little more updated and a smidge cleaner? For sure. But I really enjoyed my time here. Oh and this place is very cheap....we paid $27 for 2 buffets & 2 sodas! read more

We just relocated from Hawaii where you can find good Chinese food so easily. Since being here for a year now, we've been disappointed with every Chinese restaurant we've been to until we visited Lucky Bamboo. The taste was pretty much similar to what we had in Hawaii, the temperature of the food was good, food was well stocked although we dropped in late at 8:00 and they close at 9:00. And best of all, the price per person was very reasonable considering the amount of choices available. Today is our 1 year anniversary in Tennessee and plan on celebrating it there. Figured I'd post a review for those of you wondering if this place is as bad in 2020 as it was before based on past reviews....it's even worse! Ordered two buffet meals to go and one a la carte item. Food tasted off and now that I've read the reviews I'm wondering how many cockroaches walked past my food and how many unsupervised children touched my egg rolls. Praying I don't end up with food poisoning. The curry chicken was an abomination taste wise and came with giant chunks of undercooked onion. The egg rolls tasted stale...and if a Chinese joint can't manage to run out of egg rolls fast enough that should tell you about everything else. Really wanted to like this place but the fact is they're not even trying. Zero stars and a Hail Mary I don't get sick. read more

I'm really surprised to see a 1.5 star rating. This is me + my husband's go-to takeout restaurant. The food has ALWAYS been hot, fresh, and tasted delicious!! We usually order online and they have it ready for pickup in less than 20 minutes. We just moved here in the summer and honestly will not try another Chinese restaurant because this one is our fave! Plastic in the chicken, undercooked fish, hateful waitress. Plastic in the honey chicken and the waitress called us a liar and yelled at us in her native language. When we continued to insist she tried to say it was a shrimp shell. Then argued with us for 10 minutes it was off a shrimp when we didn't have anything but chicken, fish and egg rolls. I was hoping for a good buffet experience. The place is in need of updating and the bathroom felt like I was walking into a sauna. The buffet layout appears great at first glance but the overall taste is not good. I had lo mein, fried rice, pork dumplings, sushi, honey chicken and sesame seed chicken. No. Just no. If you walk into a buffet, and they have both sushi and macaroni&cheese.. I can assure you, neither will be done right. I went here on a date, and neither of us wanted the buffet. We wanted a menu, and when we tried to ask the hostess if they had a menu, or onky a buffet, we were seated without a response. When our server came, w He briskly asked for our drink orders, and disappeared before we could ask for a menu. As it was a first date, neither of us were pushy about it, we just laughed and said, "guess we are getting buffet!" Neither of us tried anything we liked, and it ended up being priced ridiculously high for the quality and the area. I don't know if I had a bad experience or what, but I am never going back. When this restaurant first opened, I was impressed. The food was fresh, the service was good, and we liked the buffet items. Gradually, the food quality has declined. I've heard (second hand) of people who have become sick after eating some of the food. A large concern of mine was having RAW oysters on the same (and directly next to) serving table as fresh fruit! So, if you're inclined to avoid raw seafood, you'll have to avoid the fresh fruit as well. I addressed this concern to one of the managers, but nothing changed. Good Hibachi! There is a pretty good selection of items at the hibachi area. I usually pile my plate full with the crab, shrimp, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, and broccoli. Sometimes I get the chicken. I prefer the teriyaki sauce over the soy and ginger. The chef cooks it up fresh on the hibachi grill and it is always good. Buffet items that I prefer are pepper chicken, chicken and broccoli, buttermilk mushrooms, and fried rice. There are many other things to choose from and I've tasted most of them. Everything taste as well as any other chinese buffet. There is a large dessert selection on the dessert bar also. My favorites are the peanut butter pie and the cheesecake. read more

Um one word... gross. Food isnt bad at all. Actually enjoyable. But the cleanliness or lack thereof was flat disgusting. This place need to be shut down. Me my wife and baby went with my mom and dad. The carpet was soaked of water. I hope water anyways. We set the diaper bag on the floor and when we picked it up to leave it was dripping from the water on the floor. The men's restroom... I have been going to Lucky Bamboo for over 2 years now. I am picky when it comes to my Chinese food, especially buffets. I am also scared that the food will be gross or worse give me food poisoning! I have not had either one of these problems at Lucky Bamboo! They cook the food in small batches to keep hot fresh stuff coming out all the time. They have so many different choices with mainstream Chinese foods that we Americans love! They have a Sushi Bar, but I've been too scared to try it, but they hot foods are excellent! They also have food choices for kids who are not so keen on ethnic foods. My daughter loves the Chicken and Mac n' Cheese. They also have an Ice Cream Machine and a Dessert Bar loaded with just about everything. This is by far my favorite Chinese Buffet! They also have an order from Menu (which is right on the counter when you enter the restaurant.) I have ordered takeout from Lucky Bamboo 4-5 times. They even call you when your order is ready for pickup! The staff has always been friendly with us and adore our children. If you need a Chinese food fix order takeout or sit down and enjoy their buffet! The Buffet is a bit higher price then what I like, but I guess that's what you get at an all you can eat buffet. However, the order from menu offers lower prices, about the same as any other takeout Chinese Food place I've had experience with. read more

Since the Yelp reviews were outdated, I went with google reviews that had it decently rated and decided to try it. It's been 8 years or so since I've eaten here. It's almost comical how dirty the restaurant is and how terrible the food is. The two stars are because our waitress was super sweet. The food was mostly cold to luke warm and coming in at the first dinner hour it was very obvious the food had been sitting out all day. I left the sushi and egg roll on my plate because either it was the wrong color or was ice cold. Please folks, do yourself a favor and drive 20 miles to Sushi Thai in Spring Hill. You couldn't pay for my meal and get me back here. Yuck. read more

I've never had a pleasant experience here. The people are nice, but the restaurant is dirty, the food isn't great, and the food tastes like it has sat out too long. Try A1 Japanese in Columbia or Asuka in Spring Hill instead. You won't be disappointed with those choices. I don't know how people haven't gotten sick from eating at Lucky Bamboo. read more

For the first few years after Lucky Bamboo opened it was great (at least as far as Chinese buffets go). But recently things have taken a major turn for the worse. I don't know if it is under new ownership or the original owners have just let the place go or what. The food is merely 'okay'. And the last two times I've been the place was filthy. Dirty/sticky tables, and the floor was absolutely disgusting. As if it had not so much as seen a vacuum in weeks. I'm amazed they are able to pass their inspections. Because if the front is this filthy then I can only imagine what the back must look like. And yet somehow they manage to stay fairly busy. Good for them I guess but I'm done with this place. With the plethora of Chinese restaurants in this town there's just no reason for me to waste money on an establishment that can't even be bothered to maintain a halfway respectable dining area. read more

Where do I start? The greasy/ slippery floor that ALL of our party commented about is a good start. The food it's self was very unimaginative and 80% based on chicken (cost prevention one assumes) One pork and two beef options only. The labels were misplaced and announcing things that were not even there. You basically didn't know what half the saucy stuff with chunks in it were. This may be the norm there but this northerner was perplexed there were no exotic drinks.. only beer was offered. Where's the Scorpion bowls?!? Unheard of in my world. My wife, daughter and I went here for lunch on 6/10/19 around 230(yes I know it's not the best time for a buffet). At first glance, the food was old, over cooked, and dried. We picked through to get enough to get a plate, including a fresh egg roll from a new full pan of egg rolls. Putting the other food aside, as soon as I bit into the egg roll I instantly had to spit it back on my plate. It tasted of rotten meat or vegetables. My wife smelled it on my plate from 2 feet away. I sat there gathering my words and called over the waitress. I tried to describe the issue and even asked her to smell it. She could only look at me as if she didn't understand what I was saying. She said "do you normally eat egg roll?" I insisted I eat them regularly and I knew something was obviously wrong. She kept saying "I don't eat egg roll here so I no know what they smell like". She said she would take the roll to the manager and talk to him. After laughing with another waitress and talking to whom I assume is the manager, she came back and said "the manager said this is fine and he tasted another egg roll and it is fine" My appetite was absolutely ruined and I received no apology. I can only assume they suspected I was just trying to get out of paying for a meal which was not the point at all. But not only did they reject the idea that something could be wrong, they actually defended an egg roll that stunk up our entire table. This was the first time we had been there in a few years but it will definitely be our last. read more

I have tried and tried but for the past year this place has gotten worse and worse! The last time I was there I tried there wings from the all you can eat and they weren't cooked AND were bad. My guest and I couldn't stay any longer, I told the waitress and still the wings stayed on the bar for others. When we got to the front to pay I also told the Man about what had happened and that they needed to get them off the bar so no one would get sick. Still they stayed. I would think they would take them to the back. I miss going there because they had such a wide verity of foods. I'm to afraid of getting sick. JUST BE VERY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. read more
