The sales man who helped me was a rockstar!!! Super friendly, metro and honest!! The jeans were on sale, a good deal got two for the almost the price of one pair. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The sales staff are attentive and will help you find the right size. He was even honest with my friend about she being in the middle between sizes and suggested she wait for a new style and sizing. Honest to a fault and I liked it! I wish jeans didn't have the stretch but one can't find jeans without a stretch these days so I went with the current fashion even though I miss the baggie jeans of my late teens and twenties but grateful the fit stretches. My humble thoughts on wearing stretch fitted clothing. When they fit correctly and are on sale with super staff to help out how can one not be a satisfied customer! Incredibly disappointed in the customer service I received today at the Newbury store. I bought a pair of jeans less than 6 months go and the zipper ripped part way out of the jeans yesterday. I went to the store to show them the jeans. I asked if it was possible for them to repair them considering I hadn't had them for very long, this was clearly an issue with the quality of the jeans AND they were over $100. I was told that they only guarantee their jeans for 60 days..... so apparently $100+ only gets you jeans for a few months. I was polite when I asked them if there was really nothing they could do to help me and then they rudely told me I could "go find a tailor or something". Before this incident I highly recommended Lucky to all my friends but they have lost a customer for life. read more

Very unusual clothes. I buy them for a 11 year old who looks 8 to make her look older and for a 16 year old who looks 20 to make her look younger. Both have a little too much mid-section so it is hard to find clothes that make them look nice but not as if dressed by an Italian grandmother (my appologies to all grandmothers, Italian or not) Ignore the jeans, they are beautiful and well made but the waist is so low they barely cover the essentials. I only buy these for the 19 year old in college to wear on dates and to parties. The sweatshirts are beautiful and last forever. We have some which are 3-4 years old and look almost new. They get worn almost every day in the winter. Most have an oriental theme, the best embroidery I have ever seen. So far I have not bought any which have faded or shrunk. The long sleeve T's fit well and are loose. But so well made and different, that they are not embarrassingly shabby or frumpy. Again these do not shrink and are lasting years. They are sized small, so don't be surprised if you are buying a L or even an XL. They fit well and the fabric drapes well so it hides a little extra tummy. The sleeveless T's are so tiny, we haven't met anyone who can get into one except for the 4 year old. But they are too long for her and the neckline is REAL low. This is my new favorite place to buy jeans. Yes, the jeans are pricey but the quality is good and a pair will last a long time. Also, this store rocks because the sales people are extremely helpful. I happen to have some junk in the trunk and sadly with most jeans this means that when I bend over... well you get the idea. I frankly explained my issue to the amazingly hot staff at Lucky and they immediatley had jeans selected for me to accomodate my ass and my height (kinda on the shorter side). They offerred me several pairs in different styles (boot leg, narrow leg, more cotton, more spandex etc) and colors- meaning darker, lighter blues not pink or anything : ) Needless to say I love my jeans and think my ass looks bootylicious! The only downsides are the prices and that this location is on the smaller side but I think the selection for jeans is still great- for shirts etc it may not be the best place but you're on Newbury already so there are several other shops- joy! read more

Lucky is one of my favorite stores for casual clothes. Good t-shirts, button-down's, etc. But their jeans are the real reason why I keep coming back - their 181 jeans feel like old friends from day one and they're offered in mostly subdued washes that work in casual and dressy settings. As others have mentioned, this Newbury Street location is small and cramped. There's a bigger store and better selection just a few blocks away at the Copley Mall - but this location is slightly closer to me and I like the staff better so I usually go here. read more

I'm a huge fan of their T-Shirts, I know I go to a jean store to get T-shirts and not jeans, but I'm sorry $140 for a pair of jeans to show off my complete lack of an ass is too much for me to stomach. I just bought a pair of jeans from them an hour ago, and it's probably the most relaxed time I've had shopping. I have weird measurements (big thighs, narrow hips), and the salepeople were really nice even though it was an hour before closing. Found the perfect jeans and enjoyed the experience. This is definitely the BEST jeans store ever! As a 30 something I am very conscious of two things when I am shopping for clothing: 1. I am a 30 something...not a 20 something...and there are a lot of clothes that I really should NOT wear. 2. My ass is not what it once was and there are a very select few jeans that can accentuate what I have left. The ladies at Lucky were extremely helpful in addressing both of my concerns. The sales staff was genuinely friendly, not solicitous...and extremely professional. Clearly these ladies have the patience of Job...I tried on 15 pairs of jeans and after quite some time (and a lot of help from the staff) managed to find the perfect pair for me. Although the styles tend to be young, there are a few that are more conservative and extremely flattering. I had a relaxed time at the store. The sales people were helpful, and when I gave a vague description of what I was looking for (because I don't really know anything about how to describe jeans), they managed to find basically exactly what I was looking for anyway. I got there closer to closing time than I realized, and they didn't rush me too much, which I appreciated. This is an expensive store. The idea of spending that much on jeans still seems kind of crazy to me. I briefly looked at their shirts too. The shirts I looked at were almost $50 and were made from very thin material - thinner than most of my undershirts. I can convince myself that I'm paying for the fit and the quality with the jeans, but I can't think of any reason to buy a shirt like that. The salespeople for the most part have been very helpful, except I'll get the occasional one who seems deathly bored. I can't really blame them since the men's section which is now underground can feel a little claustrophobic. I have my favorite pair of jeans of all time purchased back when the men and women sections were together on the top floor... I wear them to death. The only reason this particular store, or any Lucky store for that matter, won't get a 5er is because I am not crazy about their store layouts. PROTIP!: Buy something relatively cheap, get on the mailing list, and they'll send you postcards telling you when you can get a great deal on the jeans on a pretty frequent basis. In fact, I'm sure you can get on the mailing list by just walking in and signing up. UPDATE: I went back for some more jeans. I thought it would be kind of tickity tack to have multiple pairs from the same place, but I took the plunge and went back using my own advice with a postcard coupon they sent me in hand. Lucky Brand is up there with Joe's Jeans for me. Bought my Joe's from a defunct boutique in Portsmouth, NH. The Lucky pair is not nearly as form fitting and, a shade darker than my first pair. Look and fit cannot be beat. The sales lady was kind and helpful. We went on a Saturday and, seems I got lucky with a fitting room. There are only two. I have had a few pairs of Lucky Jeans in the past, my favorite pair I had to retire because of a hole in a precarious spot. I'm still sad about it. I'm reviewing the men's part of the store as my boyfriend insists on wearing jeans from Pacific Sunwear that are one step away from JNCO. He needed some new ones... I knew there was a 50% off sale going on so we trekked over to Newbury Street and checked it out. They had a ton of sizes available and 2 pairs he really liked in his size. The salesgirl was a little pushy and weird and didn't like that I found sizes for him instead of her, but she's fine. He bought 2 pairs but since he decided to do a total wardrobe overhaul we also stopped at the Lucky Store in the Copley Mall, he found another pair, a t shirt, a button up shirt, and a polo all at 50% off. So for like $250 he got 3 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts, not bad! I'd hurry up and check it out because I don't know when the sale ends....definitely worth a look though! read more

If the jeans you're trying on make your ass look lousy, they'll say so (as politely as possible, though). I appreciate that. First of all, this store has really cute stuff. Second, the staff is wonderful. I had a really great experience in here last week. I was looking for belts and got two great ones. But, then I saw this black, leather, cropped jacket with the coolest pins on it. I had to have it, and it was on sale. But, there was no size besides XS ! Immediately the staff helped me figure out how to get one. We called a few stores, no luck. But then, someone suggested, hey just google it. I did and there it was on AMAZON! I got the jacket via amazon prime the next day. Now, I am sad that I had to pay a bit more on Amazon - because the LB price was cheaper - but I was so siked to get it. I love it. I've purchased two pairs of Lucky jeans. They're two completely different styles/washes, and have held up completely differently. One pair started to fall apart after about 5 months of heavy use, but the other pair is over 13 months old and is still in prime condition. They've got a large variety of fits and the staff is incredibly helpful in finding the perfect pair of jeans for you (they've even sent me upstairs to the women's store to try and fit me... ). I went in this location because I was on a sales call in Boston. I needed to find a great gift for my girlfriend who loves this brand. I was not too sure what to pick up for her because I am hesitant to purchase clothes, but this location has cool jewelry. My first pair of lucky was a hundred dollars and was ripped under the back pocket after only three years (my Levis are still going 8 years now) but I thought that 3 years was still enough time for me to pay this amount, but the last two pairs I bought did not last more than 6 months (200 dollars gone in the air). I have started to ask around and all my friends who own a lucky jean have been disappointed by the quality. No big deal - so I went to exchange the items in the store (Chandler, AZ) and received the WORST customer service of my life. I was told the credit would be on my account within 48 hours. After almost 5 days of waiting I call to find out why this didn't happen yet. Was told they had no record of the return and I would have to wait additional time for them to research the issue. Mind you...I was looking at the receipt of the return. I purchased a pair of jeans for my husband at Lucky this Christmas. I was helped by an extremely customer service focused guy went in to purchase them. He helped me with size and style. Unfortunately they were not quite right and I had to exchange them the day after Christmas. This was a pleasant experience w/ receipt I was given another pair. Yet again, I brought them home and they were a little too loose for my husband. I went in again to exchange the very next day w/ receipt again but the tickets weren't on. Don't know if they ever were or if my husband cut them but the manager was totally rude and refused to exchange them. I had traveled in the pouring rain with my small kids and just wanted a different size. She picked up the pants and smelled them. Totally unprofessional!! I will never shop at Lucky again! read more
