I had to call many times to finally talk to someone and still have no resolution to the damage to my house and the cost I will incur getting it cleaned and reimbursing renters. I have been ordering appliances and furniture from Manteo Furniture for 13 years. But being a frequent and loyal longtime meant nothing to them. I will never order anything from them again.

It has a large selection of all sorts of stuff for the home like decor, pans, lamps, gadgets, pillows, blankets and bath soaps. They also sell some furniture and rugs. On my most recent visit I was on a quest to walk off my dinner and find a cozy blanket. The store is bright, reasonably clean and has lots of inventory. Shopping here is a bit of a treasure hunt and overall a good time.

All of the furniture was displayed really well and even if you are not in the market for big pieces, this store has some nice art and home decor. As one can expect, many of the pieces on display are beachy but based on the large room or fabric swatches, I am sure there is plenty of opportunity here for more neutral selections. I would put Acre Lane in that category for sure. This store is very classy and elegant. They had some great paintings, furniture and candles. I think the Acre Lane business is even more complex than this delightful shop. I believe they also offer cottage decorating servies and even have a super cute rental property in Manteo that is great for two lovebirds wanting to nest in a converted carriage house. Very cool!

BLUF: Bright, well organized thrift shop just off of the main street of Manteo…read more Immediately upon walking into Hotline I was impressed with how bright and organized the store is. Like most thrift stores, it is hit or miss but if it's a miss it certainly isn't for a lack of care by the employees to make the store shoppable. The store has clothing for women, kids, and men. There are also housewares, Christmas decorations, books and furniture. The store has an Amadas St. address but is basically on the main thoroughfare of Manteo. The store has its own parking lot and accepts donations. Proceeds support Hotline's mission to provide services for those encountering and escaping from interpersonal/domestic violence.

Some of my favorite items were a blue painted bicycle, blue low coffee table with a unique gemstone type knob, a set of two mirrors for $30, a set of candle holders (blue) for $18... I think In retrospect I really like their selection of blue things ;) Some of their larger vintage furniture pieces were also cool- a unique book shelf, coffee table with an ocracoke branded business on it, and the mermaid art on the wall was a great take home.
