This was such a cool place to visit. Our first time to the Outer Banks during Spring Break and we were pretty disappointed to find that most stores closed early or were only open on certain days until the summer season starts, which limited our places to shop. We were really excited to see this place open until 6 on Easter Sunday so we rushed over around 2pm to ensure we could walk around and browse. So glad we did! This store is choc-full of unique items, from local artist prints, gems, hand-made pottery, stationery, cards, jewelry, sculptures and art pieces made from repurposed items to garden decor. We can't wait to stop back by when we're in the area. read more

Bottom Line: One of my favorite stores in the Outer Banks and the closest thing to a treasure chest on the barrier islands. This updated review is loooong overdue. I love Seagreen Gallery and I'm the proud owner of many finds from this store that sells salvaged items, antiques, repurposed items and hand crafted items. My all time favorite find is my string of lights made from tumbled wine and beer bottle necks - I have several strings and they make me so happy! I've also collected a Coca-cola crate, flowers made from old maps, picture frames, various art pieces, stickers, coral, old telephone insulators, cork fishing floats,driftwood with decoupaged vintage photos and a whole bunch of other stuff. The decor of my home in Maryland is somewhere between traditional and transitional so I didn't initially think the eclectic Seagreen Gallery would be for me but it absolutely is! On every visit to Nags Head this is one of my must-go places. In addition to neat items the staff is always friendly and I appreciate that they are taking COVID seriously by requiring a mask to be worn and providing hand sanitizer. read more

This shop is, for us, a Must Stop shop whenever we come to the Outer Banks! the repurposed art is truly one of a kind and your yard will be happier when you put in some eclectic work of "art". there are two locations, and the one in Duck, while smaller, is just as much fun. yes, you can buy less expensive yard art at any store, but there is just something about a critter made out of nuts, bolts, an old saw blade and maybe even some old silverware! Rust gives the pieces even more character, if that is even possible. There is something for everyone, in EVERY price range and budget! The staff, in BOTH locations, is very helpful and friendly and if shopping at the main store, so are the living critters, a resident duck and several chickens who are happy to show you around when exploring the pieces outdoors. read more

From the second you walk in to the moment you leave, this place has you in a trance. You walk in, get hit with a beautiful wall of scents from the candles they have then are almost overwhelmed by the amount of absolutely beautiful reused odds & ends they have all around the store. This location has an indoor and outdoor experience. Totally different but the same bohemian feel to it. Ah ha! It's a treasure chest! Quite literally. There are gems, jewels, stones, rocks, rugs, stickers, lamps, pictures, local artwork... even DOORS! When you go to the back of the main building, there is a set of double doors leading out back to their outside zone which is a definite must see. Photos provided. Both the indoor and outdoor areas were eye candy. Just to walk in to these spaces and see the artwork and collections was a pleasure. The costs are higher, in some parts of the collections much higher, but totally worth it. Knowing that these pieces and collections were crafted by hand and not machine factories, the cost is worth it. We absolutely will be back in the future at all next visits. We stopped in with the expectation that this was some kind of thrift store, but boy were we wrong! This is a higher end art galery supporting the local artists. I immediately knew I could spend a couple of HOURS at Seagreen before walking in. So many interesting items/finds! Glass bottles, art, paint, home decor! I perused the crystal section and bought a blueberry quartz, double flourite, worry thumb stone, and an aventurine heart. My all-time favorite little shop in Nagshead, NC. The fine art of reuse is a great way to describe just this shop! Every since item inside has a story and a purpose! The owners are amazing and always very helpful. Make sure you have time to view this shop because it's more than just a retail shopping experience it's an adventures. You could send hours in this store and it is absolutely peaceful. Anyone wanting some really cool shots take a gander out in the back ! Omg my family and I are obsessed with this store. I could spend hours here and not see everything there is to see. It has a substantial gem and rock section including petrified sand dollars and even dinosaur poop. It also has a ton of local art, including some beautiful glass mirrors, a collection of big art, and other pieces with sea glass. And in the far back is a wide assortment of shells that can easily make up for a failed shell expedition. The jewelry here too is unique- a lot of sea glass but also real scarabs, shellacked and strung on a wire necklace. Tons of unique stuff. But honestly my favorite section is the garden out back. It's filled with driftwood (and all of it is $20 or less- that's cheaper than most other places in town) and old buoys and birdhouses made of old tile... and also coy fish in the ponds, little frogs, 3 good sized turtles, a bunch of chickens and two bunnies! Everywhere you look in the garden is inspiring and unique art. Much of it you can bring home but even the installations like the giant arc made of driftwood is inspiration. We came here twice while we were in town and left with arms full of treasure. We will absolutely be back next year. read more

This was by-far the most interesting store at Nag's Head. It had a lot of mismatched, re-purposed items which was pretty cool to look at. But that wasn't the coolest part, though. I apologize, I was too amazed to take pictures. It really COMPLETELY slipped my mind because I was so awed. I hope other Yelpers were able to take pictures and videos so you all can see. Anyways, the store is the owners home. Downstairs, store. Upstairs, home. Backyard? AWESOME!!! Out back it is an oasis. Mermaids and driftwood...live turtles..sunflowers...bunnies...odds and ends. Man. It was majestical out back. I could sit out there and enjoy it forever. So much going on yet so peaceful. I didn't know it at the time, but beside this awesome and crazy store is the Surfin Spoon (FRO-YO). I can't think of a better duo. You have to visit this store. I hate that this is the first time that I have been to the Seagreen Gallery in the years I have been going to the Outer Banks-- I won't be making that mistake next year! This is a wonderful shop filled to the brim with beachy art pieces, eclectic decor, and tons of gemstones to choose from! The store has a laid back hippie layout and the staff are very welcoming! The back garden area is a not so hidden treasure with several pools of running water complete with small fish, a resident turtle, and a charming duck that will give you a little tour (if you're lucky!) Hands down one of THE coolest places in the Outer Banks. I arrived at this store about an hour prior to closing, and man oh man, I wish I would've given myself about 4 more hours to explore this awesome store. It has something for everyone. There are some many cool repurposed items in this store--everything from record-covers-made-into-clocks to owl-figurines-made-out-of-building-supplies to car-bumper-lights. Also, if you're looking to take some cool pictures, this is your spot. This place has an open garden area in the back of the store. Not only does this garden area have many photo ops, it also has free-roaming bunnies (see attached picture)! They are friendly and will let you come up to them and pet them! Outside the front of the store, there is a wall with an ocean wave made out of license plates (see attached picture). Another awesome photo op. Highly recommend going here, and be sure to give yourself enough time to explore all of the cool aspects of this store. read more

Owner continued personal conversation while we waited unnecessarily to checkout. One item was apparently mispriced. Owner grabbed it, pulled off sticker and and said couldn't honor price. Acted like we did something wrong because they put wrong price on item. No thank you or goodbye. I will spend my money elsewhere. read more
