I have brought my two Aussiedoodles here for over a year, we love them! Prior to finding Lucky Dog, I called and tried multiple other groomers in the area who all charged outrageous prices and my dogs were terrified because there were so many other dogs there at the same time. Lucky Dog is affordable and the dogs get functional haircuts. They worked with my younger dog who had little experience with grooming prior. They explained that their priority was making the dog comfortable as they gained his trust, not have him look perfect. The dogs are excited to go in when we pull up outside and Alma and Randy are always friendly. Easy to get an appointment and they even give me a reminder call the day before which is a huge help as a busy mom! Highly recommend to anyone that's looking for a friendly, affordable groomer. read more

RUINED DOUBLE UNDERCOAT! This is my dog before and after what was expected to be a regular wash, brush, and trim. He is an active outdoor dog, who enjoyed daily hikes in the snow or summer days, and I expect to pay the necessary price for any additional grooming needs he may have, which has never been an issue in his 8 years... but as you can see in the after picture, his DOUBLE UNDERCOAT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY SHAVED AND RUINED. The groomer shaved him within a 1/4 inch of his skin! I got a phone call AFTER they shaved him saying it was too much work to brush him out. The groomer kept stating "It'll grow back," as if he'd never in his life heard of a dog with a double undercoat (if they haven't, they shouldn't be in business grooming dogs). The reason for this? The groomer said he didn't have the time to do a blow out, and his clippers wouldn't go through the thick undercoat, in which case THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME TO PICK UP MY DOG to take to a different groomer who either had the time or the tools to do this correctly. "He looks like a husky. I left his main and bib. He doesn't look bad. It'll grow back." and so many more infuriating comments to justify butchering my dog. His tail is half shaved, he has patches of long fur sticking out between his back haunches, his facial scruff has been completely butched, the tip of his tail was cut blunt. The only thing they got right was a nail trim! The cost involved in correcting this is going to be exorbitant, including winter wear to protect him daily since his insulation has been destroyed, a pending Vet's visit for skin care, and ongoing grooming care (for the next YEAR!) to ensure his double coat grows back without issue. And that isn't even to mention this all happened right before we go into the snowiest months of the year. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING! Honestly, at this point, I'm considering additional action to recover the cost of everything involved to correct this (IF it can be corrected). If a groomer is INCAPABLE of completing a job correctly, they shouldn't just shave the damn dog! I am so furious about this that I told myself to take a full day to calm down before writing this review. A full day later, after speaking to my Vet, I'm even MORE FURIOUS. I will take action and share this review widely to ensure this doesn't continue to happen. read more

Nice people, nice place, INCOMPETENT dog groomers. I took my three terrier mixes in for haircuts for the first time. What a huge mistake. Instructions were to shave them all to the skin from nose to tip of tail. Not confusing at all. One dog came out fairly well, but they didn't bother to shave his butt. The next one had bald spots where he was gouged with the clippers on his face and ears. Also didn't clip his butt. My 3rd dog looked like he had never been groomed at all as they barely took off any hair, and his head was not clipped at all. And they didn't shave his butt, either. All this and more for $150. What a rip off. When I called Randy to ask why so much hair was left on the 3rd dog, he claimed that people don't usually mean what they say. Idiot. I made an appointment for my dog to be shaved down like I asked, but decided against letting these people ever touch him again. Just don't bother with this place. Very substandard quality. read more

SENILE, HACK. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY REASON. Theses people run a terrible business out of their moldy, smelly garage... they are NOT a high quality groomer or even a value groomer. They went off script and then took some creative liberties ( as an artist does I suppose) including not giving my doodle a puppy cut and leaving a weird tuft of hair on the top of his head. His ears were cut blunt and even though I said, don't touch the tail, they shaved the first four inches leaving a weird transition that looks ridiculous. They did add some nice racing stripes on his sides, although I don't think that was an artistic choice, just the unfinished clipper grooves. HIS ENTIRE BODY IS UNEVENLY SHAVED. If you have me 3 or 4 days of grooming lessons , I definitely could have done a better job. You are better off doing it yourself, because that way when it looks horrible, at least you won't have payed them $100 to screw up the job for you. The "shave" they gave him is uneven and there are random tufts of long hair literally everywhere on his body that were just missed. There are a bunch of small abrasions and some small cuts on his skin, and even on his you know what... from what I guess was a clipper with no guard on it. Totally incompetent with clippers to the point of harming my dog. Was told 60-90 on the phone, showed up and she said, "$95... probably more like $115, maybe more". I had to haggle with her to get back down to $90 which is what I agreed to on the phone. Do yourself a favor... spend more money somewhere else. Not a fan of the bait and switch, or deviating from the desired cut. I made a big mistake taking my dog here. Moral of the story is trust your gut. I pulled up, saw the place, and immediately pulled up reviews, which were dead on except for the obviously planted positive reviews. Should have just left instead of rolling the dice with these hacks. He looks like the dog from the grinch... the groomer who stole Christmas... because he's probably still going to look messed up for the holidays. Update... called to try to talk about a refund for the butchering they did and after explaining it in depth in a very polite way, Alma (aka Alma f up your dog), said... "you were never going to be happy with it anyway. We don't give refunds." What a person!! Overcharges for crap service and then tells you it was your fault. Could have posted 20 pictures of mistakes/carelessness but these 4 should get the point across. Can't believe I was soft enough to tip this lady after what she did. Although they pretty much present it in a way like " you can tip if you want to, but you don't have to ". What is any decent person going to do in that spot? Also the lowest option was 20% which is already nuts, then you add how terrible the cut was. They also cut off his whiskers entirely. Can't recommend staying away enough. read more

I'm giving them 3 stars because they were very nice people. But I was $70 for one of my huskies and then changed to 110 because my Husky had too much fur. I understand she is having her blow out. But I expect the job to be completed. Both my huskies came back smelling nice, but they both still had hair clumps sticking out of them. I'm sure they are good groomers but I don't think they have experience with this particular breed. read more

I've been bringing my dog to Alma at Lucky Dog Grooming for all 12 years I've had him--and since I was a dumb, hungover 22 year old who always missed appointments :) I'm a much better dog-mommy now, but my little dog has turned into a crabby, bitey old man and still comes home looking beautiful. When I got him a little brother, a traumatized little terrier mix, he hid behind my couch for three days before I could touch him--but he let Alma groom him immediately. Lucky Dog Grooming is just fantastic, even with difficult dogs, because you can tell the people LOVE dogs. For a bath, stylish hair cut, nail trim, eyes and ears and bum cleaning, and trust that your dogs will be loved and spoiled and treated kindly, take them to Lucky Dog! At half the cost of the questionable service at most pet stores, you can't beat it. read more

From the moment we brought our doggies in, we felt at home. Randy and Alma know exactly how to make you feel at ease and how to care for your pup. They immediately took to our little girl Blue and I felt comfortable leaving her with them, even though it was her first time being groomed here. They listened to exactly what we wanted for our girl as far as the cut and when we picked her up we were super impressed by how detailed they were! Not only did they take care of her, but they went out of their way to give us a cute dog calendar and a toy for our girl and our other puppy who came along to pick up his sister! We will continue to bring our children here for grooming and we will recommend this well kept, clean and professional place to anyone who wants a compassionate couple who loves dogs to take care of their fur babies. oh and to top it all off??
