If you read my other reviews you can tell I appreciate service, and Chestnut Ridge delivers. They are not raising German Shepherds to get rich. They are doing it because they love what they do. The best breeders always do. I purchased four German Shepherds going back to 1996 and each one was/is fantastic. They all lived past 12 years (not common for big purebreds) and had great temperaments. Anywhere else I would have paid 3 - 4 times as much. I have purchased German Shepherds from other kennels and the temperment of the dogs I had were closer to what the general public thinks of German Shepherds. Auburn has a gem here take advantage of it, and reserve your puppies early they go fast. I live in Michigan and my next puppy will be from Chestnut Ridge.

But, they were bonded and I really liked their website and credentials. So, I thought that I would try it. When Cindy came for the consultation, I knew that I had made a good choice. I felt so comfortable having her take care of my cats and, obviously, my house. She is absolutely lovely and very qualified. Plus, we discovered mutual acquaintances. (I think they take care of everyone's pets in the area!) First, they give you an in-depth consultation to review all the needs of your pets before you go away. This is great! They even asked questions I didn't think to tell them. Then, while you are away, they really do a great job with your pets. One of ours is a little tricky and requires medicine. This was no problem at all. You get pictures while you are away. (This is nice!) If there are any difficulties, even minor, you get a call or message. I don't trust people at all and I trust them. Mary Kelly not only was able to do so on very short notice, but stopped by my house that same day to pick up keys and go over logistics. My cat immediately felt comfortable around Mary, and it was obvious that Mary was adept and caring in her interactions with the cat. While I was out of town, my plans changed, but Mary was able to come in for an extra visit to make sure my cat was fine. When I returned, there were little notes regarding each visit, and my cat was happy and healthy, and not as under-socialized as she's sometimes been when I've been gone.
