The woman quoted me $42-50 for a cocker spaniel, and I informed her he was matted when making the appointment. Once she realized I had a certificate the price was $63. The more I look at it the more I find spots that she missed. I stayed the whole time to help hold my dog so there is no reason for her not being able to finish the job, and it seems very apparent to me that she charged me more because she was displeased that the radio station is still selling her discounted certificates.

Booster is abrasive, manipulative, and extremely unpredictable. She told me she would have me as a groomer once I was trained and then later told me I was more useful as an assistant. This meant doing all of her work for her, almost completing full grooms sometimes but paid as an assistant and not a groomer, no sharing of tips happened when I would do 90% of the groom either. There is a revolving door here of employees and for good reason.

The hours. I work long days and their standard day care day is 11.5 hours. This allows me to not have to worry too much about needing an odd pick up or drop off. But if I do need it there's always... 2. The cab. I initially thought I'd never use this, turns out it's incredible. If I have a weird work commitment, I know they'll pick him up or drop him off reliably for a nominal fee. 3. The staff. They are very friendly, capable and obviously care about the dogs in their care. I'm pretty sure Peabody would go home with them if he could. 4. The boarding. I travel A LOT for work and when I need someone to keep Peabody overnight in a pinch, they're ready for it. I know the vet is a little cheaper for kenneling, but for a little more I know he'll get the activity and socialization he needs for me to stay sane (day care/playtime is included in the 24 hour boarding fee). 5. The exhaustion. I love spending time with my dog, but I have long days where the last thing I want at the end of the day is my young, energetic dog getting in my face because he wants to go, go, go... Before I used Central Bark I pretty much just assumed Peabody was incapable of being tired. It's so nice to know that after a day there, Pea will curl up and PASS OUT. That's worth the price of admission. Like I said, I've used lots of other day cares, but I am fortunate that this one is near my home. I would enthusiastically recommend Central Bark to anyone.

The rates are extremely reasonable, at $23/dog and $18 for the second dog sharing a same kennel. I added a 10 minute country stroll each day for my dogs, which was $1.50/walk. Each day, they'll clean any bedding you bring, which is a bonus. My dogs seemed happy when I picked them up, so that's really mostly what I'm basing my review on. I really had wished there was some sort of report card about how my dogs were. They're not exactly the most easy to take care of, so I usually like updates. It smelled of dog urine in the entryway, which I know is hard to get rid of, but I wish there were a better smell.

This is when I noticed the tank I bought my fish from was infested with ick and it was not quarantined. At home the ick spread in my tank despite my best efforts. Daily 20% water changes, daily treatment, removed the filter, and increased the water temperature. After a week of diligent treatment the ick did not budge. So today I found a new treatment. Unfortunately I came home to find more casualties. My tank of 5 baby fancy goldfish, 1 Cory cat, 2 snails and 7 guppies has been decimated. I'm now left with 1 snail. I 100% blame Colonial Pet Shoppe for their lack of animal care leading to this infestation. I will never buy fish from them again and I recommend you don't either. They also have a wide variety of lizards, reptiles, rodents, birds, and the occasional batch of ferrets, bunnies and kitties. Having three lizards myself: this is the cheapest place I have found for crickets, and it blows Petco's prices out of the water. Some of the other pet items are a little more pricey, but it's definitely worth it when you're supporting your local business-owner. :)
