Clean, professional, modest and respectful. That's what I like most about Lucky Theraputic. Liu works very hard to maintain a level of polite professionalism and in four years I have never had a problem. Other massages places can be less desirable. Most are really selling sexual services, and can be very demanding with tips, grungy and dark. I had to visit several places looking for one that is professional! At Lucky you're covered with a sheet most of the time and they only uncover what they are working on. I like that because it doesn't feel so exposed. Temperature is good, no ceiling fans blowing. The price is reasonable at $70. With the bad economy and high inflation, it's a miracle to even find a place this reasonable. The only annoyance I have, if you can call it that, is that it can get busy and the cell phone vibrates a lot. The music might mess up every once in a while. A polite word of caution: Very little English is understood here. I have never found this to be an issue, and suggest to be clear and upfront with what you want. I have visited many times and mostly have seen Cici. I have chronic lower back and hip tightness so I am very particular about getting massages. I have had bad experiences at other places. Cici has Excellent massage technique and was able to work on my hips to get them loosened up Also Cici is quite polite and professional Easy to set up an appointment and the ladies are always on time. *Part 2 of 2* 11/2/22 The draping became non existent as the massage went on and I am fine with this myself, but not everyone will be.  You might want to ask your client(s) before you do.   The towel shoved between my legs was uncomfortable and I removed it because of the way it was inserted. The room I was in had no poles mounted to the ceiling for the therapist to hold onto. This means no backwalk massage for anybody.  The Cat Massage would have been nice. (Cat Massage: the therapist uses her knees on your legs, thighs, butt and back while massaging your neck and arms with their hands.   Getting the picture? Okay think of a guy or girl down on all fours massaging your body. I think you get the message) However, this never happened and Cici did not understand everything I said. So I never bothered to ask her for this type of massage.  I had to explain using my hands as classafiers to what I needed done regarding hard or soft massage. Cici was polite and respectful to me. Since this is her first time with me, I will give her the benefit of the doubt on this massage experience. I will call and set up an appointment with her the next time I plan to come by.  Oh, that last statement wasn't a double entendre. I really want to see if there is a difference between my first experience and my second experience with Cici. I forgot to mention the curtain remained open for a  while I was still draped.   One lady walked into the same room while I was getting a massage. The lady grabbed a hot towel from the couples room and left shortly. Personally, I feel the hot towels heaters should be in every massage room.  When the therapist leaves the room to get this item, 96% of the time the time clock isn't stopped.  In this case, there wasn't a time clock except the actual clock on the well,...which my masseuse Cici kept staring at. I flipped onto my stomach and did receive a stomach massage, but that was it. Cici continued looking at the clock while massaging my stomach.  I asked about the leg's and feet and Cici said "Apologies to Matt Damon, were out of time." AFTER THE MASSAGE: I wasn't about to go for another 60 minutes so I sucked it up and got dressed.  It seems strange, but two of the ladies were wearing Mom Jeans.  To me wearing Jean's seems like the wrong attire to wear. I was kind of thinking some standard kind of uniform might give this massage place a better feel. There is a menu on the prices of what the hourly costs are.  There is also a menu on suggested tips to give out depending on how long your stay is going to be. I wasn't harassed to pay a great tip.  I paid $25 for the hour long body rub.  The tip wa a few dallors more than the standard tip.   I hope to experience a better quality of massage next time and speak up sooner if the massage is repeating itself with little pressure and/or going over the same spot repeatedly.  Also, I will request the massage music is turned off.  The same song kept being played over and over again.  This was very annoying for customers and employees.  Time clocks would be advised too.  This stops the thoughts of customers being short timed on their massage.  Also, if the massage therapist has to leave the room, stop the time clock.  This wasn't the worst massage I have had, but there is definitely room for improvement.  I will call and make another appointment soon Cici. read more

Great therapeutic massage. Was a little leery and came with no expectations. I did come with significant back pain and asked to add hot stones to my massage and stated I would pay extra. She stated they were free and included. I thought I was going to fall over as I didn't expect to say hot stones were free!!! I asked her for a medium touch and increased it to 90 minutes a few minutes into the massage. I should mention I had a Groupon for this massage, which she honored without any issue. I live a good distance from here and made an appointment since I thought it would be busier on a federal holiday, but I guess not. I was a little concerned initially when there weren't any forms to fill out, but I've had that at other massage places too and they were legit. This was definitely a legit and real massage place for real therapeutic massage. Like I said, I came in with significant back pain, and though I still had some pain when I left, it was significantly reduced by her massage and stretching. I think the stretching alone was worth the price of admission and the massage and hot stones were just an added bonus. This was one of the most uncomfortable massages I've ever had in my life. Firstly, there was no communication about prior medical or health issues, nor did they ask what I was comfortable with during the massage. The masseuse lady was being extremely rough and aggressive making it a very painful and uncomfortable experience. She was literally digging into my skin and kept going over the same muscle over and over again. At some point I had to tell her to stop. 10 hours later and my shoulders and neck area are aching really badly, really sore, and I feel a cracking sensation when I lift my arms up. First off they didn't introduce themselves they just grabbed my daughter and put her in one room and me in another. The massage itself was freaking weird she kept going near my butt over and over again without the blanket which I didn't like and then exposing me completely with the blanket going way below my calves. I may as well have been laying there completely naked . I pulled the Blanket back up a few times until she saw I was uncomfortable . I've never had a massage like that and she didn't bother taking any medical history what so ever and kept digging into my shoulder blades to the point it hurt and I had to tell her to stop. At the end I had the same issue as everyone else, they forced me to tip what they wanted which was a min of 10 each. I normally don't mind but when you force me then I get pretty aggressive the only reason why I complied was because of my daughter (16) she didn't know what was going on and this was her first experience . I will never go back there again . Also they aren't sanitary at all they didn't wipe anything down after me and didn't even bother changing the paper sheet that I was laying on if I would've seen that in the beginning I would've turned around and left. There was no one before us so I saw the paper sheet when I first laid down now I'm Starting to wonder how many people laid on it before me. This was overall not a great experience. Before starting a massage, the masseuse should ask about medical history, and high area the customer would like to focus on, where they do/do not want to be massaged, and any other questions or concerns. Here they jump straight into the massage and don't ask questions until it's too late. The actual massage itself was painful since he put pressure on my spine the entire time rather than focusing on my muscles. He put hot stones on my back and hands with no warning and it was quite hot and burned a bit. Overall I would recommend customers to find another place. read more

I've been to this place once for a couples massage. The lady was very pleasant and friendly, she was accommodating to our rescheduling. The room condition was really clean, no noise surrounding or outside noise bothering. They gave me an option to select my own aroma oil fragrance! After we got out of our massage session and went to the front to pay? We tried to leave $50 for tip ($25) each because it was a couples massage. Got a massage w my bestie for her bachelorette weekend. I have debilitating sciatic flair up and my friend needs knee surgery. The massages were okay, the guy had a runny nose or something so he kept sniffling and breathing pretty hard. Then afterwards, I took us probably a longer time than usual to get up and leave. I scheduled a couples massage after seeing a Groupon online. This was also my first time getting a massage! My boyfriend has a TBI so taking on the role of his caregiver really took a toll on my body and I know it did for his too. That being said- he needs assistance when moving. At one point during the massage, he said he had to use the restroom- I started to panic wondering if I needed to get dressed to help him. As I began to get up to explain that he needed help because he had a TBI, my massage therapist and his therapist began to help him together so that I wouldn't have to get up. They helped him get up from the table and helped him get back on when he got back from the restroom. Then, they asked if there were any areas that they needed to avoid around his head. This gesture meant so much to me and I am extremely appreciative of them for helping me (and him) so that I could stay relaxed. I can tell that these women are so genuine and caring. She is very polite, the place is clean but not soothing, the sheets quality and decorations are just an average, music is too small and the phone ringer is louder than music. Due to my type of work, I always have bad upper back problem and she worked very hard to release my 50+ knots. She did released 1/3 of my knots (great), but it was so much pain. I have problem so I always need a very skilled therapist to work on me, I received thousands of really deep tissue/sport injury massage, I have seen 100+ different therapists for 20+ years, so far only 2 can really called an expert. That means I can't expect $60/hr for a beautiful spa and top/best therapist which costs an average $120/hr. It was so much pain when she worked on my leg, but it should be right since my legs had bad circulation. However, the pain should be a good pain, not giving worst sore in next couple day. It is fair for the price with the quality of the service. One thing it really bothered me is that she stopped my massage 2 times to pick up the phone. read more

Great massage! Easy to find because of "massage" in big letters on the window. Didn't have to fill out any form and wasn't really asked about my problem areas but still was a great massage. Free hot stones and also included some stretching which was great! Only thing is the room was kinda cold. I have been here several times now, and this place is consistently good! I always get the 90 minute massage, and I love that they also incorporate stretching in the massage. I seem to always get a free hot stone and aromatherapy add-on which is a bonus! I've had several different masseuses, and they've all been great. Their routines differ, but I have come away from everyone feeling very relaxed and happy with the service. I've gone to a LOT of massage places including the expensive spas, and the massage envy type places, and they have always been hit or miss. Please note, I am a Red Door gal so my expectations are just that. Read the reviews which seemed pretty good so I called the number (it was a NYC cell phone) Strange! No one answered but called me back a few minutes later. The lady stated she wasworking right now and would call me back when she finished. Booked the appointment wth ease. Went to the Fairfax,VA location . No one was at the front desk so we sat and waited a few minutes. Didn't smell like amoral therapy here at all nor was the place visiblyappealing. Lady came to take us to the back and told us to put our things in the square storage foot stool. No robe, no slippers, no champagne!!! The room temp was rather cool as well, no comfortable. Still no aromatherapy just the sound of birds chirping (like the ones outside my window in the morning). We got undressed and laid down. The massage table was not comfortable. The old, worn looking face pillow had a paper towel over it. The sheets/blankets we covered up with were stiff and rough(not warm at all) The One MT started on my husband. I watched her climb over top of his head(her crotch was on his head) and started to massage his back. The second MT came in and did the same to me. Her thighs were rubbing against my hair. She rubbed my back with those hard sheets. I felt like she was rubbing the skin off my neck and back. Anyway, she removed the sheets and painfully rubbed me down with oil. The oil had no smell! Within the first 15mins, my husband's MT actually made a phone to make sure her next client confirmed and was on time. Not once but twice. Very unprofessional!!! This was the longest hour of my life and couldn't wait to get out of there. At checkout, she stated she would only accept Groupon as a first time customer. That's OK with me because I will NOT return even if some one else paid for it. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
