Loved our massage. The foot and body combo. So good. I left very relaxed. The place is very cozy and clean. Will definitely be going back! Everyone was so kind and friendly. We felt right at home.

My husband found this place online after I suffered a back spasm with persistent muscle tightness…read moreand soreness. After the first appointment I experienced tremendous relief. The acupuncture and cupping I received here in combination with chiropractic adjustments have made it possible for me to resume my day to day life. I never would've thought that needles would be the gateway to such extreme relaxation and stress relief. I've recommended this place to anyone who will listen and will continue to do so.

I booked the visit a couple of weeks in advance, completed all required forms, and provided my insurance information. They also required full payment upfront, explaining it would be adjusted later to account for any copays or insurance coverage. When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist immediately informed me that Eastern Roots was not in-network with United Healthcare and that I could instead submit an out-of-network claim. That was not an acceptable option, as out-of-network costs are significantly higher. It was clear the practice knew this in advance but failed to notify me until after I had driven over an hour to get there. When I requested a refund--since I was unwilling to proceed with a provider that misrepresented their insurance status--they refused, citing their 24-hour cancellation policy. However, I hadn't canceled the appointment; I arrived in good faith, expecting coverage. Only once I learned the true facts, which the clinic already knew, did I decline to continue. To make matters worse, the owner, Sarah Alemi, did not speak with me directly and instead sent an email referencing the cancellation policy. At this point, I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. I would strongly caution others to verify network participation and transparency before booking with this practice

I am a 49 year old male who keeps in reasonably good shape. In April 2011 I began having upper…read moreback problems. Having used massage to work out knotted muscles in the past, I went for a few massages. My back pain would get somewhat better for a day or two but then return. Over the summer of 2011 I went to a chiropractor to see if perhaps my back pain was caused by more than a muscular issue. After a few months of manipulations and more massages, my pain had subsided some, but it was still limiting my range of motion and was ever present. In September 2011 I stopped seeing my chiropractor because it no longer seemed to be helping to reduce my pain. In October 2011 I saw an advertisement for the Pain Relief Center of Fairfax, which represented Cybil Louie as both a pain relief specialist as well as a posture expert. Since my wife had been mentioning that I appeared "slumped over" in recent months, I decided to see if the Pain Relief Center could help reduce my pain. In my initial consultation, Ms. Louie interviewed me regarding the specifics of my pain, and then analyzed my posture. She took some photographs and measurements, and then showed me visually where my shoulders were curling in, my neck was tilting forward, my knees were locked in a hyper-extended position, and my lower back was curving in. She explained how each of these issues were collectively causing my upper back muscles and ligaments to become over-stretched, and hypothesized that this could very well be the cause of my back pain. Ms. Louie then performed a therapeutic posture massage, which was far more focused on relaxing the specific muscles in my back that were under tension than any massage I have had before. She then gave me a few exercises to perform daily that were designed to begin the process of correcting my posture in order to reduce the tension in my overstretched back muscles. At first I was somewhat skeptical but performed the exercises regularly. I returned to the Pain Relied Center the following week feeling much better than I had in a long time. After another therapeutic posture massage, Ms. Louie gave me a third exercise to add to my daily routine. After a few more weeks she shifted some of the exercises to begin strengthening specific muscle groups in my back. I am about halfway through a 12 week posture therapy program, and my pain has subsided to the point where I only feel back pain when I exaggerate motion or sit in a chair with poor posture. I am 100% convinced that over-stretched muscles due to decades of poor posture was the cause of my pain. Now that my awareness has been raised on my posture, and I have proper exercises and techniques to begin the process of correcting my unique issues, I'm feeling little pain and my wife has already noticed that I'm walking more upright. Ms. Louie mentioned to me that "slumping over" and bad posture are becoming an epidemic in our society as electronic devices such as smart phones, laptops, iPads, and gaming systems have Americans sitting for extended periods of time looking down. She explained that this trains the body to think this is the natural position for the head which is driving us to become a slumped over society. She went on to explain that this problem is unfortunately very pronounced in younger people who are generally more addicted to their electronic gadgets than adults. To anyone who chooses to work with the Pain Relief Center of Fairfax, my advice is to listen carefully to what Ms. Louie has to say about posture, and commit yourself to doing the exercises! I'm convinced that it's the combination of therapeutic massage with posture exercises that is needed to improve posture and reduce pain. Thus, I enthusiastically endorse the Pain Relief Center of Fairfax. M.R., Fairfax, VA

Although I only placed an order for the neck, shoulder, and back massage, I received a full body massage. However, the very first thing that was done was a foot and leg scrub, and it was just amazing as well! Eye even massage my scalp and my face, but she was very careful with everything which I appreciated very much. She made sure to put paper towels on everything and was very careful with everything which I appreciated. Afterwards, she even asked me if I wanted anything to drink like water or hot tea and I asked for hot tea, which was ginger and Jasmine. Everything was perfect!!
