I was super excited to get my hair done after finding Lucy on Instagram and booking online. Unfortunately, the whole experience was a disaster and I do not understand why she would have any 5-star reviews. Woke up early just to wait in the lobby for 20 minutes because she was late. Not only that, but she was extremely rude when I told her what I wanted. She insisted that my hair was too long (which it wasn't, but still told me to book a haircut with her first) and already looked like the picture I showed her that was on her Instagram. I wouldn't have cared and would've been happy to leave her studio if she didn't start to go on a rant about refusing to work on my "stained" hair, even though she didn't care to listen when I tried to explain that it wasn't and it's been years since I've gotten it done. After giving me a ridiculous price, I left and went to Sally's and did my hair the exact way I wanted it myself. I researched hair bleach & dye and learned that there was no possible way my hair could have been "stained" after all these years, and even if it was, there's such a thing called color remover. Overall, I was simply shocked at how unprofessionally she operates her business. It's obvious that she only wants to work with thin white girl hair. If you're a blonde and willing to spend over $500+ to deal with her attitude, go ahead and book an appointment -- just don't expect her to show up on time either. read more

I love Lucy! I started going to her when I moved to Orlando last October and was nervous about a new hairdresser, but she has gone over and beyond my expectations. She has a lot of ideas and keeps up on all the latest trends, but she also listens to you and doesn't try to push anything that you aren't into. The last time I went I wanted to tone down the golden tones in my hair and do more of an ashy blonde color. I did my research extensively before deciding on a colorist here in Orlando. I found Lucy on Yelp and noticed she had very high reviews, so I looked further and found her Instagram, which also contains wonderful examples of her work. I walked in to scope out the salon and possibly meet her and we hit it off right away. She's honest, funny as ever, and VERY smart. It's super important to have total faith in your colorist-the fact that she has multiple hair certifications (and previous/alternate degrees) added to my confidence in her. My hair could've taken the bleach a lot differently, but for some reason we both had a feeling to go forward with the process. I went from black hair to this greyish blonde, which looks really funky and unique. I plan on going back to get it worked on some more... Lucy has been my stylist since I moved to Orlando in 2013. She has given me perms, long cuts, short cuts, blowout/styles, full makeup for headshots, coloring ... you name it. I keep going back because she's a great listener when it comes to what you want; she's easy to schedule with; she's accommodating (I have a VERY TENDER head and she's super gentle with me) and she will always work hard to make you happy. I've gone to see her 40+ times, and it's always a pleasure. A good example of her integrity and commitment to her clients are two instances over the years where something didn't come out right: One, when we experimented and switched dye brands (LOL never again) and she spent an extra 2+ hours to make sure it came out the way I was expecting. Two, when I got my first super-short haircut, I liked the look when I left that day but you know how it goes ... you get home and get over the shock, and then you want to change this or that little detail. So I actually went back a few days later to have her snip it even shorter overall and tweak a few areas where I wanted to style it differently -- she happily did so without even charging. I typically do NOT write reviews but because I went off of reviews I read after being new to the area. First of all I will just say my experience was absolutely horrible! I have never been in a chair for almost 7 hours for a highlight lowlight, and ended up with orange hair and the back of my hair was splotchy which I will post pictures of. Not to mention feeling incredibly uncomfortable by the way Lucy spoke of the other stylist. It was an awful experience. If you have blond hair I would not recommend this stylist at all. Not to mention I had no idea of the price and she charged me $250 dollars and was rude to my children when they came to bring me food at 4:45 after getting there at 10:30 in the morning with nothing to eat or drink, I didn't leave till 5:30! And was extremely u happy! The only saving grace is that the other stylist around her saw what was happening And someone else made it right. In less than 2 hours.... read more
