I really * really * wanted to love this place,.. because it's a great location, it's beautiful, and literally all the staff are phenomenally kind. Unfortunately- I asked for a simple roots touch up, and it turned out to be a disaster. I suddenly have orange roots instead of blonde. It may take 7 years to undo this damage. Needless to say - I had to have an immediate color correction after. But still - the orange remains, and probably will for years. Alas, maybe they will get better colorists? I had posted a review about how unhappy my daughter was with a color she recently had at the salon. The owner reached out to me today and after discussing what happened she immediately took action. She was truly upset that this happened and apologized more than once. Then the owner asked "what can we do to make this better?" Sometimes, we get so frustrated we let our emotions get ahead of us . I was in town staying at the Alfond Inn at Rollins so I walked down to Prive. I needed a single process roots only. Blonde. The receptionist was extremely polite and professional and recommended I see Jamie. I was given a prompt, convenient appointment for the following morning. The salon is beautiful, conveniently located just off of Park Avenue. There are shelves full of products available for purchase. I was offered a cappuccino. The salon has good energy yet it's not too loud. In the shampoo room a couple of men were there - I was told there was a section for those who are shy about getting gray taken out of their hair. Once in Jamie chair, she took one look at my hair color and immediately knew the correct color formula. No hair swatches to match color needed. No toner application to adjust the color needed. My color was perfect. And this is what I LOVED: included in the cost of the single process, the salon includes a glaze, all for the price of $130, I believe? I live in Miami and it's $150 for single process roots only and glaze is $60 extra. Once done, my hair was a lovely blonde, with depth, and it was so soft and shiny. I chose not to get a blow dry. (I never get a blow dry.) I was offered a quick blow dry to the front of my hair to check color - they call it something, actually. No charge. The woman who quickly dried a portion of my hair was lovely to chat with. I highly recommend Jamie and Prive Salon. Tip them all well, they deserve it! read more

My letter to the owner that never received response regarding my hair being burnt off during a service: Hi Patrick, I've been a client at Privé Winter Park for a while now. Unfortunately, I'm reaching out to you as my recent experience left me very frustrated and disappointed. I came in for a root touch-up, left with orange roots, and even more concerning, I experienced significant breakage in areas that shouldn't have been touched during this service. When I reached out to discuss these concerns, the response I received was defensive and dismissive. Rather than taking the time to understand what may have gone wrong, I was told the breakage must have been due to something I did at home. For a $482.66 service, I expected more accountability and an open dialogue about what might have happened, as well as how future issues could be prevented. I understand that going blonde can be tricky, but this outcome and the response I've received are not reflective of the quality I was expecting from Privé. I hope to understand your perspective on this and how Privé plans to ensure situations like this are handled with more care, transparency and professionalism moving forward. WARNING ! Be very careful when you have a service that turns your hair orange and red! they will continue to do Re-dos that make it worse. They have zero empathy and the owners never reach out !! they literally do not care . I was a customer for years until they went full blown train station service fast, sloppy NEXT!! Very disappointed as I have spent thousands of dollars there over the years. and after another 425.00 color and 2 re-dos . not a peep from them . warning! always , ask about their policies before you confirm appointment. read more

This place pretty much ruined my hair... Let me preface this by saying, I don't dye my hair often. In total I've dyed my hair twice in my 30 years of existing. So I am by no means a hair terminology expert. I came in not too long ago because this salon had decent reviews, it was close to my place of work and the stylist had photos on her instagram that were super similar to what I wanted. When I got in there wasn't a super long wait but it was very busy. I was brought over to the corner where my color stylish worked and waited for her there. When she arrived she asked me if I wanted anything to drink. (I asked for a simple glass of water at least 8 times throughout this whole appointment before I got it because the salon was extremely hot inside) and then she brought over another stylist who would be cutting my hair. I explained to her exactly what I wanted for my color. I've had it done before somewhere else so I used all the same terminology and basically just said I want to do the same thing but darker instead of blonde and closer to my natural hair color which is medium brown. What I got was the whole top of my head bleached and dyed extremely bright blonde. The complete opposite of what I asked for. The color stylist didn't listen to what I wanted at all and used so many chemicals that part of my hair that had already been dyed blonde previously is now WHITE and a SILVERY color. It's now literally breaking off and so dry that when it gets wet it turns into one huge knot. That's NEVER happened before. I have very fine straight hair that rarely tangles that bad. Not only this but she left me under a heater for a least 45 minutes while she was coloring two other people's hair at the same time. The woman who cut my hair however was great she ended being a completely different person than who I was originally told would be cutting my hair but she was super attentive and kind she asked me so many questions and did a perfect job. All in all I would never go back here and I would not recommend it to anyone. I gave them a pretty bad rating in their follow up emails and the salon manager did reach out to me wanting to rectify the problem. However, my hair is so ruined that putting more product on in seemed like the WORST idea. So now I'm just living with ugly hair thats a mix of four colors until I can grow it all out and chop it off and be back to my original natural hair. Enter at your own risk. read more

LOVED my appointment with hair colorist Cait. I never get my hair colored because I feel they never listen to what I want or offer advice on how to get my vision to actually come to, but Cait actually took the time to listen to my requests, offered her advice, and then gave me exactly what we were both expecting. Also zero pressure to get a cut or styled like other salons do, and gave me plenty of time to relax in silence & work from my phone. Great experience, will be returning. read more

I went their for a price check, $160 for a haircut from this stylist. I was looking at pictures from this salon,the pictures all look the same nothing special that calls for $160 and up. I come from NYC I never paid $160 and they did a fabulous job. I guess you have to pay for Winter Park rents thats included in the $160 not for doing a great haircut. I really wanted to like this place since it has good reviews and is centrally located to me. I've given it 4 tries (all in the hopes that things will improve), but it's just not worth it to give anymore chances. The main problems: - They make you wait, so long - Beauty school students are the ones doing most of the work - No robes or towels to cover your clothing for hair cut - Subpar coloring/cut WAIT TIME Each time I've waited, and waited, and waited, and typically spend about 3 1/2 hours to get roots touched up and simple haircut. I usually have to wait 20- 30 minutes after my appointment time before I actually get taken back. BEAUTY SCHOOL STUDENTS There are beauty school students that do most of the work (and the actual colorist and stylist do very minimal). This past time was the worst - tugging at my hair to brush it, applied the color barrier cream on my ENTIRE forehead and down my ear canal, instead of just at my hairline, and was just terrible at color matching. If I wanted beauty school students working on my hair, I'd expect beauty school salon pricing. NO ROBES OR TOWELS They don't use towels or ropes over your shoulders when doing the hair cut. So, be prepared to have hair EVERYWHERE. And, just using the blow dryer and a lint roller at the end does not get it out of your bra, or other areas. I always have to plan to go home to shower, and change. SUBPAR COLORING/CUT Just once my hair was cut nicely, but that stylist left. The other 3 times have been awful. I've had to actually cut my hair on my own bc there were chunks longer than the rest of my hair. My color is way darker at my roots and it is all over, which happened bc the beauty school student applied the toner wrong. Luckily there are plenty of salons in the area that are customer focused, and have professionals working, I'll be checking those out instead. read more

It's definitely THE BEST hair salon in comparison to the ones I had been to in Orlando. My hair colorist, Bee, is just absolutely amazing beyond words!!! I have been coming to Bee for highlights for about a year now and each time I receive lots of compliments from my coworkers, family and friends. One time, I was at a breakfast cafe, a young manager approached me and said "Sorry this might be an odd question, but I've been wanting to get my hair done for awhile, but was afraid I won't like it. Your hair color looks gorgeous, can you tell me which salon you go to?" I was like WOW, how many compliments I've gotten ever since I started coming to Bee. Megan the lady who washed my hair was extremely pleasant and washed my hair very well. I've had a haircut from my hairdresser who is a master stylist in the past I traveled all the way from Kentucky to see her and is extremely disappointed.I did not think she had her "A" game that day she seemed not on par with the previous service that I had. Looking for a great painless waxing experience look no further Amanda is amazing. I am super sensitive to waxing and had not been to her before she was so gentle. She is very kind and patient as well as I am very particular about how I like my eyebrows sine they are very thick but nicely shaped. I felt very safe as there doors were open and everyone was wearing a mask. Honesty this place is great. Also I have to give a shout out to Jessica and Cassie at the call center those women are amazing since being a Client Of Prive for over two years now they have been very patient with me and always are great with making appointments and reminders. So disappointed with the unprofessional service they provided. Made appointment for roots touch up and a trim. My appt was @1:15pm. Got my roots done by 2pm and then had to wait for the hairstylist to be ready for my trim. He was advised 3 times that I was waiting for him. From where I was sitting I can see he was with a client however just wasting time. And not once did he approach or apologize for running late. I finally walked out at 3:25pm after waiting on him. With wet hair and no trim. I was beyond upset when I was checking out and all they could care about is making sure I paid. If they expect people to respect their time then they need to respect customers / clients time as well. If he was so busy, then someone should have taken care of the situation and got me to another stylist. Waiting for that long is not acceptable. Not reaching out to me after the fact is also very unprofessional. Will not go back or recommend to anyone.!! read more
