Charming little bookstore in historic Astoria. Block letters in the wall encourage books and reading. This is definitely a store filled with books and not overrun by nicknames and souvenirs to attract tourists; it's all about the books. There isn't a huge inventory as this is a independently owned, neighborhood shop, but there are top sellers and some hidden gems. Upstairs are sale items so make sure to check it out. During COVID-19 they are taking all precautions and only allowing 2 people in the shop at a time, masks required, sanitizing hands required with sanitation station right as you enter.

Cute little bookstore! The owner was a sweet lady and gave us some great dinner recommendations. I bought a book that I am excited to start reading during our rainy Oregon Coast vacation. We will definitely be back!

    Wonderful, community style, book store.

Definitely we preferred Godfather's Books & Espresso than another indie bookstore we had visited…read morethe day before (6/20/25). Disregard the brief Yelp description, this indie bookstore has a vast selection of titles organized by subject/genre (a potential treasure trove) and a variety of merch. The Homie honed in on three books reflecting his interests in military aviation, history, and Chinese cooking. The latter was a great vintage Time Life collection title. I seem to continue my streak of locating unique or sought out titles while on holiday. Last summer it was a French cookbook in Newport, OR. Here in Godfather's cookbook room, I found The Slanted Door. The James Beard winning author/chef had passed away earlier this year and I never received my copy from a TX bookseller via a distributor. Godfather's has that signature indie bookstore vibe, great titles to pore over, and really nice staff who treat both regulars and visitors with genuine warmth. A worthy detour while in Astoria!

Good book selection, cute store but for the service alone. The girl behind the counter set…read moreexpectations they can't lookup inventory which no big deal there but she looked visibly upset to tell it to me. And then when I asked if they had one of their souvenir T shirts in my size she visibly sighed a frustrated exhale. She doesn't seem suited for a customer facing career. Worth it to get books here but try to keep best to avoid trying to interact with the person behind the counter. Hopefully the rest of their staff is competent at bare minimum having a decent attitude when customers walk in. Pretty remarkably off putting vibes. Sad.

This sweet little bookstore really touched my heart today. That is so truly unusual. My son saw the…read morebookstore when we were walking around town but we missed the closing time two days in a row. My son loves books and bookstores so we made an effort to get there today. We walked in 5 minutes before closing because I missed that they closed at 4 when I had remembered 5 (my issue). The staff politely let us know it was almost closing time. The staff was thoughtfully helping people with suggestions for different books and were pretty busy as the whole town was hopping. My son picked out a book that he knew he would like and another that he thought maybe was less important and decided on the sure thing. He then realized he didn't have his wallet. That was fine as I was happy to buy the book. When we got to the counter the staff told him about a program that gives books to special young men in memory of a special man who had died, from his family. My son has struggled with social situations and skills because of a developmental disability his whole life and the staff did so well with him and he was so happy with that book. He reassured them that we were happy to buy the book but they let him know about this young man and his family and that they wanted to do this. Honestly so incredibly impactful and sweet. I hope the family of that man is able to know how important their gift is.

Love this local, independently owned bookstore in the heart of Cannon Beach. The store has an…read moreimpressive collection of books thoughtfully curated and arranged in super helpful categories like "great beach read," which for those of us visiting the coast, sometimes we want an easy, light and entertaining read. I particularly enjoy perusing the large assortment of "staff picks," a great introduction to titles and authors not on my radar. The store has an easy and welcoming flow with shelves along the perimeters and round and rectangular tables in the center with books arranged by certain topics. It's election time so one table dedicated to current and past elected officials. Lots of current titles, gorgeous "coffee table" books with amazing photography, and classics. I always find something or many things here! All Covid precautions being implemented; you must use sanitizer when you enter wearing a mask. And limited number of customers In store. Other than that, it's book store browsing business as usual.

A rarity in our present society: a new/used independent bookseller. They have quite the collection…read moreor books lining fairly tall shelves and paper sacks of books that have been brought in for trade are scattered around the floor. Surprisingly, their books are well organized! Whenever we can't find what we are looking for, they kindly order it for us, knock off 20%, and have it in just a few short days. Can't bet that even with Prime. I take my kiddo here about every other month to get the next Warriors book and oftentimes we make a couple other finds. My kiddo loves to be able to walk in and request the book we ordered and happily start flipping through the pages. In response to some negative reviews: everyone can have a bad day so maybe take that in consideration. Not everyone is living the same life. We are all just trying to do our best. My kiddo just started another book series, Wings of Fire, so we'll be heading back soon to request the books we can't find at the library.

More than paperbacks, with a decent selection of hardcovers and one of the most impressive children's / youth section that I have seen. Very well organized store with so much to look at. awesome selection of titles with many rare and unique editions to choose from. Their used prices are very decent and all of the others seem to be 20 percent off of list which can work out well in many cases. Friendly staff who are very helpful. It is great to see children get excited about reading, and this store caters to that crowd. We saw two families with children tat were having a great time picking out books for themselves. In this sad society filled with so much laissez faire parenting, it is so refreshing to see parents involved and invested in their children's minds. This shop has been serving the area for quite a while, so please shop local and shop indie!!!!
