I'm not sure if it's like this every day, but you have to ring a doorbell in order to enter the store. You can't just open the door and walk in. In terms of parking, this is Long Beach, so you have to find a spot on a street. There's no dedicated parking lot. This place has such marvelous reviews about how friendly the workers are, but I think I came on an "off" day because the workers didn't spend much time assisting me or talking to me. They told me that they were in the process of moving things around, so I mostly looked around by myself. Eventually, the worker handed me a bra that fit me so magically, I had to buy it. I have a smaller bra size, and I often have an annoying gap between my body and the bra itself. I never "fill in" the bras that I wear. However, the bra that she handed me fit me extremely well. I was really impressed. Be warned that the prices here are steep. I spent about $90 on the bra I bought. read more

Crystal is the BEST! I'm plus size not to mention too heavy. So for me to find a decent, cause I've given up on good, bra I have to go to a specially store. Well a shock to my surprise is that not only did I found a good bra it's also close to home. Going to buy a bra for a bigger chest women is not the fun activity. Sometimes it's even embarrassing not being able to find a bra in your size. Plus feeling like you'd be told "Sorry we do not have your size." "I think I could possibility find it for you." "Maybe try Dillards." Dillards? That place still in business. Well that changed today when I met Crystal. Crystal is a warm safe place. She makes you feel comfortable as if you you've known her forever. That she isn't a stranger just a friend you haven't seen on a while. She made sure we got the best bra for me, and even ordered another one to be in next week. Now the time I fear the most is the price of these bras. I was ready to spend maybe $200 for these bras. I mean the quality was amazing and the brand was perfect not to mention Crystal said the bra has a feature that would help it carry the weight of my breast more. Don't go. Call to see if they've opened up again before heading out. I went today to buy more bras but they were closed (moved) even though it says open. I called and found out they were no longer at the location and will have a grand opening at a new location. I was disappointed because I drove 30 minutes in traffic and 30 back home. An hour wasted. I really want to like this place and have been giving it chance after chance for a week now As I try to support independent businesses especially black owned and do hope this one can improve. For starters the website is misleading. . Online it states fittings are complementary, however when you click to book your appt it shows fittings are $30 for new customer. Next online it says walk-in welcome however they should really update this to appointment based only as it seems they don't have enough staff to support supply vs demand . For hardworking average Americans their hours are really inconvenient as they close at 3pm weekdays and for most employed humans Saturday is the only day their hours are doable. I tried calling today( Saturday ) for more info on fittings and received dial tone, upon arriving was informed the phones were down. I arrived today , Saturday around 1pm, (online it states they close at 4pm.) Sadly ,was turned away as they stated they were completely booked so could not help me today. No apologies for their phones being down or for the complete waste of my time on a beautiful Saturday, ( I usually go to the bra store in Westfield Culver City for fittings and such as they fit for free and hours are more convenient for average employed Americans. My husband wants me to give this bra shop another try. They can improve if they update they website and up customer service or hours of operation/ or move to appointment based only so no one's time is wasted. "Before my first ever professional bra fitting with Crystal in 2016, the only bras I ever bought and wore were training bras from the teen's section at Target. I didn't even bother with bras from department stores or VS because they never fit well anyway. I thought I was confined to training bras that made me feel more like a tween than a queen. Fast forward to 2016, I was doing my taxes in Long Beach and spotted a lingerie shop that boasted "All sizes welcome!" And "we carry unique sizes!" And "FREE professional bra fitting!" They were a bit busy when I came in and Crystal let me know they weren't doing fittings this week but she took me in as a walk in anyway. So impressed and happy with the service here! I had originally booked an appointment for a bra fitting in December but got sick. The staff was attentive and understanding, and it was easy to reschedule to the next month. When I came in for my appointment today, someone quickly checked me in and I was taken to a private dressing room. Crystal did my fitting and she is just the sweetest person ever! She took the time to get to know me and my needs, and asked me what I was looking for in a bra so that she knew exactly what to get me. She is so passionate about inclusion and women's empowerment and made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I could tell her level of expertise by the way she knew my bra size just by looking at me! Crystal gathered a couple of bras for me to try on, periodically checking on me throughout my stay to see how things were fitting and to advise me. Every bra fit perfectly and they were all stunning. This was so special since as a more petite person, I can never find stores that stock my size. I ended up getting 4 bras-- more than I expected coming in but it was absolutely well worth it! Also, all the ladies there are so so nice. The receptionist who helped me check out was helpful and kind. Definitely recommend making an appointment for a fitting. A complete waste of my time. I called and asked if they sold the brand Curvy Katie. The employee Megan said yes. I asked if they had my size and she said she wasn't sure, but that they do offer other brands of strapless bras. I asked what time do they close she said 3pm. Not once did Megan say that you need an appointment nor did she say they were too busy to see me today. I arrived at 2:40pm. I stood around for 5 mins before Megan asked me if I signed in. How am I supposed to know that? I'm here to buy a bra that I called about beforehand. Whatever, so I start signing in and she's says I'm not sure we'll be able to see you today. Once I got into the fitting room, they promptly took my measurements and got a bra for me to try on. It was PERFECT. I have never felt so good. Thank you, Buzzfeed, for your videos that caught my attention back in the day and pointed me to a truly life-changing experience at this beautiful small boutique (SUPPORT YOUR SMALL, LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESS!!!! And don't be rude to the people that service and help clients, especially in Covid times!!!). Let me preface this by saying I am a former bra fitter myself at a chain-that-shall-not-be-named. They never make bras for a body like mine, which is wide shouldered, rectangular, "small fat body" that the industry particularly hates. I am 40 years old and I have never had bras that fit me. I called ahead and got the lovely receptionist, who informed me that though they were accepting walk ins now, I could make an appointment. She was so lovely and accommodating to me. We live in LA, so I went ahead and made an appointment, and I appreciated that Lucy's has had that option for clients. It was busy when I walked in, which to this former retail worker, is a great sign! Women of all shapes feeling at home and shopping peacefully, everyone masked and respectful. Beautiful local artwork on romantic purple walls (pictured). I was shown to a well lit, lovely waiting room. Within five minutes of viewing me, Crystal already knew EXACTLY what size I was, no measuring tape needed. And let me tell you as someone who trained to measure bras--that is a TRUE master. I almost broke down and wept when Crystal hugged and said to me, "You are NOT a hard to fit body! Anyone who told you that previously is wrong!" & came back in with ten bras of all different types and colors for me to try on! I have never ever been able to fit a convertible bra, nor a strapless, in my life! Even after weeks my bras feel so great, I almost never want to take them off. My friend took me to Lucy's Boudoir, a small, woman owned, unique, and friendly place to try on bathing suits and bras. Not your typical VS spot. I found the most unique bathing suit here. Since they didn't have my size, they have to special order the bottom. There was a delay in general, world wide, not their fault. I hadn't been to this location yet, but I've been wanting to go for a while..I'm just not in Long Beach very much these days, like I used to be...but I was one of their winners on their instagram contest a little while ago..that gave me a great excuse to try out Lucy's Boudoir! I never win anything..lol so it was pretty cool to win by guessing a correct answer on the instagram contest. I made an appointment, and I was the only one in the store, we both wore masks, and I felt very safe. I have a bigger bust size, so my options are limited with stores, since most places seem to stop at DD...I can't just run into target, and buy something there..I need to buy something that is fitted correctly by my bust size, and band size- same with swimsuits with full support. Most places have measured me wrong as well in the past. Thankfully Lucy's Boudoir is perfect for gals like me. Crystal was great- she asked me what I was looking for, and brought out tons of different options for me. I even got a piece for a bikini that needed a bottom piece. I've really been trying to limit my time in stores this year, but I forgot how much I missed being taken care of by excellent store owners that really care for their customers, and really take the time to make them feel comfortable, and help them find the products they are looking for.
