Heroic Adventures, just like Slackers, is a frequent stop for my friends and I when we are visiting friends in Edwardsville. Just like Slackers, the price of things here tends to be on the 'higher' side of things. But with higher prices come a lot of cool things... They have board games, card games, collectible/trading card games, comics, graphic novels, figures, and the list goes on and on. Almost anyone who has the smallest sliver of geekiness in them will find something here they want to buy. One of my friends always drools over they figure section. I always browse the board games, DBZ stuff and Magic: the Gathering sections. We typically spend 30 minutes looking around before we finally leave and one of us bought something. It is a great companion store to Slackers.. Whereas Slackers is heavy on games, this place is heavy on everything else.

It has a sign warning of the "wrong ways to use the bathroom" and that using their bathroom was a privilege, not a right. But the bathroom itself had blood drips down the walls and on the floor, followed by not having toilet paper. Even washing my hands I felt like I wasn't actually getting cleaner. I will say that I asked someone for recommendations and they very obviously googled things before realizing they didn't carry any of the games he named. He then tried googling a bunch of random titles to see if they fit my interests, which I can just do myself. Great concept, not so great experience.

They are very into Magic the Gathering themselves and have pretty decent knowledge of a lot of what people want. You'll find games suitable for the very youngest kids, for instance 5, 6, and 7 years old, through to very challenging and intense games good for multiple day long gaming sessions. John is very knowledgeable about his games, and if you talk through what you like with him he will be sure to show you some new things you've never heard of before that you will enjoy.
