I've been going to this store since I was a little kid, I got my first black and white gameboy from this store and it was where me and my brother took our birthday money. This store is an amazing place to find retro games and collectibles. The owners are great, and even fix batteries on old games such as Pokémon Gold and Silver. Though in recent years they've hired some new people that seem more like sales people then game enthusiasts, me and my brother still love coming in and seeing what hidden gems they have for that day. read more

A great retro game store and a must if you are in the STL area. They have a great selection of games dating back to the early 80s to today. The one thing that surprised me most was how inexpensive some of their better retro games were and their selection. Cool and nice selection of retro games. But I tried to get some CDs buffed here. the owner took a glance at them and said I would take 3 hours to clean them all. So he asked if I could come back the next day I said no. Him and his co worker were standing around doing nothing. So I took my CDs to v-stock at south county center and they got on it right away for me. Only 50 cents more at v-stock. read more

Found my old Gameboy but needed a charger. Brought it into Trade N Games and they checked with their charger to see if it would hold charge and it didn't, so they tested it with their battery and it worked. Bought a replacement battery and they installed it for me and I was able to buy a new charger as well. Big selection of good used games for everything and very nice staff. I went out of my way to visit Trade N Games while visiting St. Louis. I had read some reviews and had a good idea of what to expect. They did not disappoint. There were plenty of games on a variety of platforms and most were very fairly priced. They were very conscious of the condition of the games they were selling and made sure I was ok with any imperfections -- most stores seem to try to sneak beat-up cartridges into your bag. My only complaint is that I figured they'd have a bigger selection. That's understandable, though, given their good prices. And I did find several games I'd been looking for. I wish there was a store like this in my neck of the woods. They've got a web site and I will use it. read more

Update: Since my last review, the store has expanded and is now more than twice the size of the original. The selection in the Collector's Case has improved big time, I've been able to find some amazing hard to find games and consoles recently. What a turn around. I haven't tried trading, but the improvement in everything else has made this a regular stop for me now. read more

My friend told me about this store so I decided to check it out. I was immediately impressed as soon as I walked in the door. The store is fairly large, with all kinds of games all over the place. Their games go as far back as the Atari, and up to modern stuff. They have a good selection of games for Atari, NES, SNES, N64, PS2, Game Boy, and other systems as well. I focused on those because that's what I was looking for when I went, but I bet they also had PS1, PS3, Xbox, and other games as well. I should probably mention they only sell used games. They also have controllers and maybe even a few of the systems for sale, so if you need that, they can hook you up. Overall, I found their prices for NES games to be competitive, maybe even good. I'd say they were also good/competitive for PS2 games, but the SNES games may have been a tad high, but nothing unreasonable. When I went, I got 2 NES games and 2 PS2 games; they had a buy 1 get 1 free sale on select PS2 games, so that worked out nicely. I like this store and look forward to going back. read more

Jason, the owner, is as knowledgeable as you'll find. This is the best video game store in the area as far as selection and price for anything older than the current generation of game systems. They'll have stuff for current-generation systems too, but the selection will be less. For retro stuff (anything older than a PS2), nobody beats this place. Everything is tested, serviced, and working, and you'll see things here that you haven't seen anywhere else in years. If you show an interest in odd, older systems, Jason is happy to trot out whatever he's working on at the moment and hasn't had a chance to put on display yet. read more

Very helpful and friendly my girlfriend has an autistic son and he has to have a routine so when he visits he likes to play ps2 and his games get scratched allot and won't work which freaks him out and I would take the games here and they would help me the best they could helped save us from melt downs even did it few Times without charging me the three dollar great people read more

Me and my brother were trying to sell our games her and we completely understand that they can't take every game but when your super rude to your customers then that's just not right. Now I'm not saying every employee there was rude just this bigger guy. He had freckles every where. So u hope that a manager or someone higher up reads this and handles the issue of this employee.
