Me and my boyfriend spent over 40 dollars at this taco truck. We were very disappointed in the food. When I went to pick My granddaughter up from Texas State for the Christmas break the first thing she wanted was a breakfast taco. She said that Lucy's was rated 5 stars but she had never been there. She pulled up directions and we headed to Lucy's . I will say when I pulled up and saw it was a food trailer parked outside an old convenient store I had my doubts. But nothing ventured nothing gained or in this case learned. We both got out look on the side of the Trailer and reviewed the breakfast menu. I had bacon ,egg and cheese on flour tortilla and Catfish( thats what I call my granddaughter since she has always been hard-headed) ordered sausage, egg and cheese on a flour tortilla and we got us aDr Pepper to go with them. The nice lady working told us she would let us know when 5hey were ready. We sat in my truck and waited. Took her less than 10 minutes to have us Our order. We choose the Green hot sauce to put on them. Everything was cooked after we ordered it. And there were two types of cheese scattered on them. There was so much filling that I couldn't close my taco. They were delicious. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection. The cheese was melting as I tried to eat it. Fantastic food at a reasonable price. As we sat there and ate our tacos there were several customers drop in and place orders and left with what I can only assume to be happiness in a bag. Will Definitely have to make this a regular stop over the next four years that Catfish is going to college here read more

I am a self appointed taco connessieur. I love tacos and I'll be providing a different review for salvadorian tacos elsewhere. Lucy or mami, as I affectionately called her on my second trip ordering her food is amazing and sweet, as her food is authentic. The tortillas, they are fresh and local made. I prefer corn tortillas. I ordered Carne Asada (steak), these by default come with cilantro, onion and lime. The steak was thin sliced crisp but tender, it was not greasy. The onions were fresh, as was the hefty amount of cilantro. I ordered avocado which was extra. These cupped in the soft double corn tortillas were nothing short of amazing. The tortillas were consistent enough to only use one for the carb-conscious. For a flaming mouthgasm, the green Verde sauce is to die for, and compliments the roasted Jalapeños well. The sauce and peppers are not for those averse to spice. We went here for three days during our stay. Other "popular" places sold "american" or "taco bell" style tacos. Not my thing. read more

So if you want to save time and money..try this place out! All breakfast tacos are made with fresh ingredients and she makes your taco literally right after you order, so you know everything is homemade and not sitting out. The red and green sauces are amazing, and you can tell they're also homemade and fresh. Best Tacos in San Marcos, by far. Lucy gives you a great price with an astonishing amount of contents, I feel like I'm eating from my Abuelita's kitchen. You can really taste the love she has for her food, she makes sure that you're getting your moneys worth. Her $1.50 taco specials M-F 'til 11 a.m. are amazing, she even does Migas on Thursday. Her Machacado taco special is $2 every day, I get one every time I stop by, it's honestly a religious experience. Her Quesadillas are huge, like 2 meals worth, plus you get to mix it with a meat like Al Pastor or even Barbacoa. Stop going anywhere else in San Marcos, I've lived here all my life and gone to college here as well and I can tell you for a fact that Lucy makes the best Breakfast and Lunch.
