I cannot recommend San Pedro Handbag and Shoe Repair enough. Gabriel is truly the only person I…read moretrust with leather. His work is nothing short of amazing. I wish I had taken a before photo because my bag was covered in stains + the handles were so dirty from years of use. Gabriel completely transformed it. When I picked it up, it looked BRAND NEW. The leather is clean, refreshed, and restored so beautifully. you would never know how worn it was before. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and care he puts into his work really shows. If you have any leather bags, shoes or items that need cleaning, restoration, or repair, don't take them anywhere else. Gabriel is a true expert and worth every penny. Thank you for bringing my bag back to life!

Picked them up about two weeks later (that is not how long he said it would take - I was traveling and requesting the later pick up). He requires payment in advance, in full - this was a huge red flag to me, but because of the positive reviews, I let it go. Arrived to pick up the boots and the lace holes had not been cut in. So he did it while I waited. Turns out, the holes were too small for the laces. He damaged the end of the lace trying to get them through. Said I just need to work it a bit more but if it doesn't go through, he'd have to replace the metal rivets and charge me more. He was eventually able to get the lace through one of the holes and sent me home to do the rest. When I asked about the damaged lace, he told me I could tape it up or buy new laces. I got home to finish the job. Had to use my husband's tools to try and make the holes a little bigger. As a result, some of the leather started cracking off - is leather supposed to do that?? I'm so angry. In fairness, I did not call the owner back to give him a chance to fix this mess. I don't trust he would actually do it. I debated a long time before leaving this review. I don't like leaving such negative reviews without giving the owner an opportunity to make right. But, in this case, it didn't seem that he cared that the job was not done well from the outset - why should he do anything; he already has the money. Then saying he would have to charge me more so I could lace the boots? Seeing the damaged laces and telling me to just tape it or buy new laces? This is not someone who cares about the end product. I did buy new laces but the holes were too small for the these as well. I tried two with the smallest diameters I could find. It wasn't the laces. I recently moved to the area. My prior shoe repair person charges far less and would NEVER return the shoes to me looking as these did. He took pride in his work. The shoes always came back looking brand new. And, while not cheap (taking care of good shoes is not cheap), I never paid as much as I did at San Pedro Shoe and Handbag. Sadly, he's an hours drive, one way. May just do that in the future though. About the only positive with this entire experience is that parking is quite ample. Just thought I should warn you. Would strongly recommend AGAINST paying in advance.

It was a mishandled return with a rusty, used, and completely different knife set inside. We went to exchange it 17 days after purchase, which is well within Target's 90-day return policy. The San Pedro store denied the return because of a price discrepancy...a discrepancy that was their mistake when they placed the returned item they never zeroed out back on the floor in the wrong price slot. We were sold a tampered product for the wrong price, then blamed for trying to return it. Instead of fixing it immediately, like any company would do, we were passed between Guest Relations, Asset Protection, and store staff who all seemed confused and inconsistent. One employee told us to wait at Starbucks for a manager. Another insisted the decision was final. No one seemed to know what the actual policy was or how to handle it. We were made to feel like we were pulling some elaborate scam over a $99 exchange caused entirely by their own error. After more than an hour of waiting and escalating through multiple departments, including Twitter and BBB, a manager named Kenneth finally processed the return. He was calm and professional, the only person who seemed to have a grasp on the situation. That said, he appeared to be wearing glasses equipped with a small embedded camera. Some kind of discreet recording device, from the looks of it. There was no explanation, no disclosure, and the whole thing felt quietly unsettling. Even when someone finally did the right thing, there was still something off about how it all played out. Target didn't just mishandle a return. They failed at every level of customer care. If they pull out all the stops to make returning a $99 knife block this difficult, would you trust them with any major purchase? Probably not. Unlike other major retailers who handle simple returns with no questions asked, Target's response was a corporate shrug followed by "we'll pass it along," as if that counts for resolution.
