Well first off.....this Andy person must work for the company because his opinion is as bland like the chicken.
While shuffling through with the herd to get our meal, my eyes gazed upon the almighty meatball.
My spirits were instantly lifted as something was before me that reminded me of my childhood.
Instantly I had images of an old Italian woman rolling meatballs in a Sicilian valley village, while sitting in her kitchen with the windows open the, drapes fluttering in the breeze, sounds of young children playing football on the dust cover trail which led through the village. I felt all was good in the world.
I had made extra room on the plate, skipped most of the items that were laid before me for these little balls of meat heaven.
It was time. I was next.
Like a Moscow soup line the lady scooped up 5 heavenly balls of meat, my eyes grew larger as the ladle made its way to my plate.
But then as soon as it was within serving distance 2 of the meatballs where taken from me and placed back into the hot serving plate.....
Sadness came over me....
The lady had made quick eye contact and turn to the next person..
"Excuse me" I said "would it or possible to get those two meatballs place on my plate, they belong with their bothers and sisters that were already on my plate?"
The lady then turn her head and with a stern look in her eyes replied...."NO!" "NEXT!"
I was speechless, a wave of emotions came over me.... Was I a bad person? Was my past coming back in a vengeance? So confused!
With my head held low I made my way back to my assigned table... My appetite was slowly retreating.
But I took the high road and thought I should be grateful for just having these lovely balls of meat being place on my plate.
Within the first bite I realized something was amiss.
No little woman from Sicily Rolling meatballs, no children playing soccer no breeze coming through the window. These meatballs were just that meatballs.
I was devastated. :(
The whole experience has taken the wind out of my sails for my love meatballs.
I do not think I can recover from the experience I had that evening.
Meatballs are dead to me now.
Rest of the supper was good. read more
