My personal experience was awesome and I've moved a boatload of times! The app and process were super user friendly, equipped w/ quick, accurate quotes and live chat agents to answer questions rapidly; they also follow up with an email. In addition, the app keeps you updated from start to finish, which leaves out any confusion. I booked my move just a few days out, got the truck I needed and my guys, Augustine and Ryan, were friendly, efficient and did a great job! All around, Lugg was a great value for a pro job and I'll def be using them more! I hired Lugg to move a misdelivered box that was sent to the wrong address in my name. At no point did I request assembly of the item in the box, just pick up and delivery of the box. Without authorization, the drivers opened the box at the pick-up point and assembled the contents (a service which was never requested). I knew something was wrong since I was following the progress of the pickup on Lugg's app, and after the team had been at the pick-up point for half an hour I alerted Lugg by email to the fact that there was a problem. They responded rapidly to let me know they "escalated" the issue (so I know they can respond quickly when they choose to). This is the last exchange I had with them. Subsequent emails from me regarding being overcharged have had no response. Additionally, I have since discovered that the cardboard from the box and the packing contents were left strewn over the pick-up property. When I received the bill, the cost was over twice the estimate because of the manhours put into assembling the item. And Lugg is ghosting me. They have no public number you can call to speak to someone. I'm stuck with an unreasonable bill that cannot negotiated. I seriously believe you can do better if you just spend a little more time looking for any other company to deal with whatever you're moving. read more

Unfortunately they were an 1 hour and 40 minutes late due to a dispatch error. They offered 25 bucks off. Of course I couldn't rebook somewhere else because by the time I found out about the error it was 2 minutes before the end of the time slot I had booked for the night before. They clearly don't know have enough drivers at the beginning of the month, but they really shouldn't commit to the business in that case, and I don't think they really care if they leave you sitting around waiting for them for 100 minutes. read more

Two men arrived at 11:45 and left within two hours. My friend and I were packing and they were supposed to be working. One guy was continuously on the phone. The other one was better but not a hard worker. When the one on the phone would work, he complained and grunted so loudly when moving things I easily move. He was sissy. I received a notification to "tip your lugger". But I chose no thank you. I would not hire these guys again. read more

I ordered a truck for "Apartment moving" and they showed up with a van. It took us all day and two trips to load and unload. I was overcharged and never received an invoice with details about the charges. I was missing a valuable pottery. They claimed that nothing was left behind in the truck. It is impossible to reach anyone responsible by phone. All is dealt through the movers' cell phones. I must say that the movers themselves were very hard working and helpful (with the incentive of a great tip). I would never use them again for moving a whole apartment worth of items. We used Lugg previously to move one piece of furniture from a store to the house and that worked out well. read more

I'm shocked that this company has 2.9 stars at the time of this post. They should have 1 star at most. Lugg was referred by Arhaus to move a floor sample from store to home. Lugg damaged my beautiful Arhaus piece. There is NO phone number. That should be red flag #1. I can only reach them by email (although Jordan Brown, owner of Lugg, is clearly searchable) and wait days for their response. After more time than a week from damage, they offered an $800 discount, which is less than half of what I had paid for the table. I told Arhaus to stop recommending Lugg, since there is no phone number and this is obviously a scammy business. I made this mistake so no one else has to. I recommend everyone stay away. I would have gladly paid double the $174 charged to me to real movers, licensed, bonded, and insured. read more

I scheduled a truck with two movers to pick up a second-hand armoire. According to the company, a truck and two movers is what I would need for one large piece of furniture. A van arrived instead (because they were closer?) and after dropping the armoire and knocking it into a garage door, they realized it wouldn't fit into the van because of the wheel wells (I told them the dimensions before hand). They said I needed a box truck instead. I was concerned because the price for that truck was a lot more. They assured me wouldn't really be that much because it was only one item and loading and unloading would only take a few minutes. Fast forward, box truck arrived, movers were great, got the armoire to my house, tipped, done. Then I got the receipt. The Lugg estimate I used to determine if I could afford to buy this furniture was $106. I understood it might be a little more. And after the truck change I knew it would be even more (box truck base price was around $152), but I had already paid for the furniture so it had to get to my house somehow. I was charged over $400, which is wildly more than any estimate I got originally from the website, according to THEIR recommendations. I will never use Lugg again and will advise anyone who asks to look elsewhere for movers. read more

The movers were prompt and worked hard. Unfortunately, they came in a van instead of a moving truck, and without any padded blankets. About half of my stuff got loaded Tetris style. They told me that I would need to book another move to get the rest. I had to extend my lease for another 3 days and I hired another mover with a real truck and proper supplies, and the cost was much more reasonable. read more

It's a great idea for a company, but the service seriously needs to be reconsidered. I keep getting overcharged for the time of the Lugg. The estimate is always 30-50% lower than the reality, mostly because the luggers take their time. My most recent experience, they showed up 20 minutes early to the selected window and I was charged for those 20 minutes, when the pickup location wasnt open yet. My experience before, the Luggers charged an extra hour for what wouldve been a one hour job. There was a 30 minute lull between picking up the piece and actually heading to the drop off, and then a 30 minute lull after they dropped off the piece, while they just sat in their car outside. I had to reach out to customer service both times to receive refunds for time, but it's just really disheartening that this keeps happening and causes stress, and i cant trust any of the Luggers. It's not a great relationship to have with a company. There needs to be quality control for these types of things. read more

After booking I read the email confirmation-- you are responsible for providing parking for the drivers or paying for their time to find parking. Finding parking can take forever in Manhattan-- Lugg either needs a driver to wait in the car or change their pricing model-- it doesn't work in Manhattan. I canceled and rebooked with a flat rate mover. read more

Service requested was to move a fridge purchased on Facebook Marketplace to my house. I booked 2 movers, a fantastic father-son team. They were both hard working and persistent with a fridge move over a grassy backyard! They came with their own tools and were prepared for all the hiccups that came with moving out the old one for Bulky Item pick-up through trash service! The hookup was taken care of by me, only because the brand of fridge was different and hook-up was rare. I ended up successfully doing it myself! I was so grateful to have found LUGG! I didn't know they do a lot of Marketplace relocations! Handy for those of us who don't have moving trucks handy!! I definitely recommend their services. The average quoted was way under what I paid, but we didn't know the old dead behemoth of a fridge had to be taken apart, doors off, in addition to my FRONT DOOR taken off and then everything put back together!! (Fridge came with the house!) I was happy to pay for their hard work and understanding. They were extremely adaptable to the situations that surprised us all! Thank you for your help! * The movers' delay of three and a half hours significantly disrupted my scheduled move, which I had arranged three days in advance. I tried rescheduling through the app after being notified that the movers would be at least 3 hours late. The app did not allow me to do so. I only received an automated response that did not allow me to reschedule or cancel. * I tried to call multiple times but was not able to reach anyone. There was nowhere to leave a message. * The automated text message from Lug said I could speak to the drivers via the app. I tried several times and was unable to do so * After speaking with the movers, they told me they weren't even notified of my job until 230 pm the day of the move, an hour after my scheduled move was to begin. * The movers also told me they had started their day at 7 am. By the time they reached my place, they had already been working ten hours. This contributed to the move taking much longer than it should have. * Due to the movers' significant delay, I took it upon myself to move three carloads, hastening the process as the movers' performance was compromised by their extended workday and the move was over three hours late. * To help expedite, I hauled boxes up and down three flights of stairs so the movers could use the elevator and moved things in my car, and I'm 66 years old. * This physical strain was exacerbated by the need to expedite the move due to the lateness of the day, and the movers' taking longer than expected due to their extended working hours. It was a physically demanding and stressful experience. * As a result of the movers' late arrival and their inability to complete the job, I was forced to have them leave some larger items, incurring an additional cost of $500 for their removal the following day. * Two days AFTER THE MOVE I received an email from a customer service representative (probably automated) asking about my move and if it/he/she could help fix the problem. * Several days after that, someone offered to rebate me $50. This is not an adequate amount and I was disappointed with the offer, considering the extent of the inconvenience and physical strain I endured. * The one mover kept apologizing for "dragging his friend" (the other mover) into helping him on this very long day. My hunch is that the other mover either hadn't slept, or was hung over. I can also glean from this that the other mover had never lugged before. * I've gone through everything that was moved, and there are several things missing from my move. I am a first time customer of Lugg. I will run through my entire experience. I initially cringed with the Lugg app as it asks the customer to determine the size of vehicle needed when I feel it obvious that people who don't own a truck are not particularly knowledgeable about the cargo size or weight and what various trucks/vans can handle. The owner of entertainment center being moved told me they moved it in 2 trips with an SUV so I chose a pick up truck option. The app does allow for uploaded photos of pieces being moved. I assumed so Lugg people could verify. I thought my assumption correct when on the morning of the move I received a text from Lugg informing me that my order had been "upgraded to an XL van at the same rate." Seemed like a good company willing to take a little less to gain a new customer who may have underestimated. The cost estimate was for $145.94. I accepted that assuming the price would likely be a bit higher, but still very fair. When luggers Erick and Ramon arrived in an XL van, Erick called me to tell me my item would not fit in his vehicle and that I would have to cancel my order and reorder again. The customer at the pickup location overheard him, took a picture of the spacious van with the doors open and sent it to me telling me Erick was lying. I then texted that photo directly to Erick giving him the opportunity to reconsider making the delivery. That upset him and he wasn't going to admit his unscrupulous behavior. This is when I realized Lugg has no phone and all communication must be done through the app, texting and emailing, leaving one wondering when or if you will even get a reply. I did get in touch with Lugg customer service immediately. No long wait. I sent them the photo of spacious van and text messages I had regarding the situation and costs. All were very helpful and wanted to get my delivery made. Ryder was especially gracious and even offered a $25 credit for the bad experience. I agreed and the delivery was made. Erick wouldn't speak, let alone look at me. Ramon was all business. They were both gentle with the pieces and made the delivery without any additional problems. I gave Ramon a cash tip, but since Erick refused to acknowledge me I put his back in my pocket. Ten minutes later I received a text notification from my bank informing me of an additional $79.41 charge from Lugg. My total was now $225.35. I looked over the bill and saw I was being charged the booking charge, a base charge, the mileage charge, labor charges, and tax. I noticed on the labor charges that I was being charged $137.70 for 85 minutes @$1.62/min at the pick up location and $24.30 for 15 minutes at the delivery location. The luggers/contractors were charging Lugg and thus me for all the time they sat around texting with Ryder at Lugg about the order. I contacted Lugg again through email. Kelby, Janie and Sam were all professional and very helpful. Janie reached out and acknowledged the overcharge at the pick up location and promised a refund for $64.80 reflecting 40 minutes of time. In the end my total charge came out to $160.45. They did still deduct the $25 "poor experience" credit as well. I am pleased with Lugg's quick response and willingness to set things right. My delivery was made at a fair price. I believe this to be an issue with an exploitive contractor and will give Lugg another try. read more

Used Lugg for junk removal in 2024. The service was fine, no issue with the service people. However Lugg charged my credit card on file 3 MONTHS LATER for a "dumping fee". As others have said there is no phone number. Emails have gone unanswered. Disputed with credit card company and ultimately they would not reverse the charge as they also couldn't get in contact with Lugg. I won't use this service again. Sketchy. read more

A local furniture store recommended that I contact Lugg.com to remove my old living room set before I received my new furniture. I indicated that the items be donated to a reputable charity in Orange County. Although the drivers mentioned that this charity approved the sofa and loveseat because it was free of rips, tears and stains, the charity rejected the items due to lack of room in their warehouse when the drivers attempted to deliver the items onsite. I gave the drivers a nearby charity to donate the items. I had to do all of the legwork for the drivers to find another charity. After my old furniture left my house, it should not be my responsibility. Lugg charged me obscene labor costs although it was not my fault that the initial charity changed their mind when the drivers arrived at that location. Beware of Lugg.com. They gave me a reasonable quote but they do not disclose the hidden costs!!! I wish I did my research first before contacting this shady service. The issue is that Lugg.com does not have a phone number and the only way to edit your Lugg or to upload any information that your luggers need is to download an app. This is beyond infuriating. I was getting a couch from a friend and was planning on using a moving company but they were charging me close to $300 so my colleague told me to use Lugg and said it's way cheaper. I had to book two separate Lugg moves. One to take out my current couch and dispose of it, and the other to pick up my friends couch and bring it to me. When booking the one to take my current couch and dispose of it, it showed my base fare being around $56 and you pay 1 minute per labor. The luggers come and are asking me where to park and I told them on the street, it's NYC. They refused to park anywhere and just double parked outside my loading zone for approx 20 minutes (racking up my labor fees). Because they were parked in a loading zone, only one Lugger came inside with me and I had to help him bring the couch downstairs to the van. I literally paid to do my own labor. At 2:06 pm he started the service and at 2:30 pm they put the couch in the van. At 2:30 pm, the Lugger that did not come inside decided he would take the couch for a friend, as the alternative was it being thrown out at a dump. I said absolutely I didn't want it to go to waste. I left them at 2:30 PM with the couch all packed up in their van, and they stayed in their van on location until 2:45 pm. They racked up "61 minutes of labor" to bring my couch down to the 9th floor to the loading zone, and take the couch as a gift. I paid $230 to gift these people my couch and bring it down for them. I had the drop off location at a dump, but because they decided to take my couch I offered to change the location to my building so there was no drop off. I got a lot of hesitancy here and with this being my first time using Lugg, I had no idea why. I ended up moving the drop off location to a building down the street saying "you're going that way anyway and I don't want to waste more of your time." Because the luggers told me in order to get paid they need a drop off location for gps. They head to the drop off location and spend 26 minutes there, racking up my time and money. Reminder - there was no drop off. I gifted these men my current couch. When the second pair of Luggers came and I told them the situation, they fully told me my kindness was taken advantage of and they bamboozled me. Fast forward, I had to email support 5+ times to get a response and after further review, they have refunded me the added drop off $50, but they refuse to refund me for my time during pick up. It does not take 61 minutes for these "professionals" to detach a two piece couch and bring it from the 9th floor to a loading zone. But due to the fact that this company runs on GPS only, they do not believe me. It's funny that the customer is always supposed to be right and with a company like this, if the GPS says they were there performing a service they were there. To pay $181 dollars to have a couch brought down from the 9th floor to the loaning zone is baffling. On top of it, I paid $259 for the second pair of luggers to deliver me a couch. I paid $400+ for this company and could have just bought a new couch. Respectfully f this company. read more

They were able to quickly lug (heh heh see what I did there ) the boxes up to my third floor apartment in about 15 minutes. They were professional and efficient. I have quite a few services to review in connection to my move to a new place. First is Lugg. I purchased a queen-size mattress from Casper. Much to my dismay, Casper's delivery service does not deliver inside the home unlike the standard mattress store. Casper uses UPS and UPS only delivered the boxed mattress in the mail area of the apartment complex. The mail area is in the ground floor and my apartment is in the second floor. Thank God there is Lugg. I used Lugg in 2019 for my niece's move from Santa Monica to Canoga Park. And the Lugg movers did a good job. I don't know how I found out that Lugg does all kinds of moves but that includes store pick-ups. Meaning, if you bought something heavy from a store, Lugg can pick it up for you and deliver it to your place. So I figured they could bring up my mattress into my apartment. And they sure did. The Luggers were courteous and efficient. They were not cheap but that's fine with me. Thank you, Luggers! read more

Update: After nearly 2 weeks of waiting and still not having a bed, the support team "offered" to refund me about half the original cost of my bed. Definitely did not make things right! My movers were great- but the customer service here is terrible. My movers took apart my bed for me, but I told them I would put it back together myself since they charge by the minute. The guy must have mistakenly forgot to leave the baggie of hardware for the bed. I had to contact customer support to see if I could get it back- the parts are specific to my bed and not available to replace anywhere. What could have been a 5 minute phone call to the mover has turned into a week of no response/update from customer service. I haven't had a bed to sleep on this whole time, and not only has customer service not made it right, but I haven't even received a response or update on the situation. Very disappointed! read more

Movers came and didn't seem to know how to get my washer and dryer downstairs. They talked about different options then just picked it up and after two steps set it down unprotected on my wood floor. I questioned the plan and they said if I was uncomfortable they would leave. My floor is scraped. My dryer is unhooked and in the middle of the hallway. I message Lugg and they basically said it was my fault because anything over 200 pounds needs two crews. Well my dryer is not over 200 pounds.
