The driver and his foreman went on two overtime breaks. The first was meant to be 10-15 minutes, it lasted 40 mins. The second, which was to last 60 minutes, took over 2 hours for them to return. My wife was distraught, as she thought all our possessions had been stolen., The movers failed to tell us where they were or what they were doing for so long but nevertheless, there was no need to leave the premise with all our items in their truck. Upon return, the truck cabin smelt like alcohol and empty weed packages were present. They became very aggressive when questioned on this fact, and the police had to be called to protect ourselves and the eyewitnesses present. All captured on CCTV. The final insult was being overcharged by at least $500, and having our items held hostage. If you plan on using this business, avoid at all cost. read more

Whether my review is for 10 years ago or not, all the "potential" customers will read it on top of reading very similar reviews from other customers who used your services and find out the horrible way this company treats their customers, inlcuding the one that had to call the police. BEWARE: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY I do not recommend Happy Home Moving. The company itself is suspect. To be clear, my complaint concerns the company itself--not the individual movers. The workers worked hard throughout the move, and I appreciated their physical effort. I provided them with water, Gatorade, and protein bars to help sustain them while they worked. Five hours into my move, while the work was still underway and they estimated that approximately three more hours remained, the company attempted to collect payment for nine hours before those hours had been worked. They also requested that I send them a photograph of my identification, even though the seven-page contract I signed contains no requirement that I provide or permit them to retain a copy of my ID. They received a redacted version of my ID. They have no right to my driver's license number or my date of birth. This is how identity theft occurs. When I questioned the advance charge, they claimed the contract authorized it. The contract does state that deliveries are C.O.D., but it also states that transportation charges are "due and payable upon completion of such transportation." More importantly, the document provided to me contains no hourly rate, no nine-hour minimum, no estimated total, and no not-to-exceed price. Its declared inventory inexplicably lists "0 Items, 0 lb," despite this being an actual household move. Customers should not be pressured during an active move, when the company already has possession of their belongings, to authorize payment for hours that have not yet been worked. Pricing, minimum-hour requirements, payment timing, identification requirements, and the not-to-exceed amount should be disclosed clearly and in writing before the move begins--not raised after the movers have control of the customer's property. Read every document carefully, insist on a complete written estimate and itemized charges, document all start and completion times, and do not provide a photograph of your ID without a clear written explanation of why it is required and how it will be protected. In a few words, this company took 2x longer than what was scoped by them, damaged some items and lost small pieces to another, and denied damage to those items. I even had to help the movers myself at the end because of how long it was taking. Just pay the extra money and go with another company. It'll be cheaper and safer in the long run. read more

DO NOT USE!! They broke so many of my belongings, and then showed up at my front door in the dark late at night, days after they were supposed to show up, to fix my bed that they put together incorrectly. No call or text beforehand to tell me they were on the way. I am a young woman living alone and felt so unsafe, I was yelled at over the phone to let a strange man inside (which I refused to do) and wouldn't leave until I threatened to call the police. Spent hundreds of dollars on repairs for my bed, vintage lamp, and more. They even broke part of the tile flooring in my apartment that I had to pay to replace before I moved out. Purposefully inflated the hourly time by refusing to use an electric drill and instead put my bed and table together with a handheld screwdriver! This is so disappointing after I had a great move with them two years ago. They have really gone downhill- I wouldn't trust older reviews as clearly something has changed for the worse. read more

There was absolutely nothing happy or pleasant about the decision to go with Happy Home Moving Inc. The services were absolutely terrible. The movers wrapped my 14 inch metal step ladder in 14 inches of Saran Wrap and FAILED to wrap my $300 12f by 4f mirror in any protective covering. They then placed the mirror against an exterior wall outside of my apartment and YOU GUESSED IT, down came the mirror. ADDITIONALLY... because there is more, the company offered a $20 compensation for the broken mirror. Upon delivery, the drivers requested to off load THE BROKEN MIRROR into our home. When I asked them not to as it poses a huge safety hazard, the movers became visibly frustrated at my stance and began to speak amongst themselves in their native Language. While directing the movers where to place things, one went upstairs in our home to "see where things may want to be placed..." I finally asked they simply leave everything downstairs in one place. The second driver was persistent in his request to set up our sofa (more than likely to ensure that he could retrieve their MORE than reused blankets and covers). I yieled and gave specific instructions on where the sofa should be set up... I asked that the sofa be placed up against an empty wall that is roughly 151 inches in length. They put the sofa together in the middle of the floor. The FINAL kicker was realizing that they reuse the same wardrobe boxes from customer to customer. I will now have to take all items to the cleaners as I do not feel comfortable transferring clothes, shoes, and linens from their reused boxes into my home for the fear of potential pests. PS. (I began this draft as the movers were wrapping up). After reviewing their tablet for the final signatures; they stood around in my yard. Ugh!!! Their actual prices don't match their website. Red flag! So I had to negotiate a discount. The person taking their calls and doing the coordination also failed me. I asked for the 9-10am slot for a Saturday move. The coordinator William wrote 8-9am. I called to correct him and he said he adjusted it but the movers came at 8:17, which I was unprepared for! When William called me about the mishap, he said he could not do anything about his mistake and there was no fix or offer to make things right with me. Movers that are beyond slow that you are forced to move things yourself just so they can quit scamming you and slowly taking your money. Movers that you watch damage your stuff and when you email them, get gaslit and told the damage was not their fault. Wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

We hired this moving company for our move on December 21st from Ontario to Rancho Cucamonga, and it turned into a nightmare. The movers took an hour-long break and LEFT with the truck that contained all of our household items. Taking a break is one thing -- taking our entire home with them is absolutely unacceptable. After the move, we realized several electronic items were missing, including Bose speakers worth $250. We immediately contacted the business and the manager multiple times, but no one ever followed up or took responsibility. Our items were never returned. Between the unprofessional behavior, missing belongings, and complete lack of response from management, this company showed zero accountability. Happy Home Movers did an amazing job for us this week. They were on time, careful with our things, and moved quickly and efficiently. I was a little skeptical because they bill by the hour, but a neighbor recommended them and I gave them a shot. We've moved several times and we try to make things easy for the movers. I knew everything was packed properly and labeled so they could take to correct rooms at new place. It was a 3br 1st floor apartment moving to a 3 story townhouse. There were 4 men, so I estimated 6 hours would be good, 7 possibly due to stairs, and at 8 hours I'd have to tell them to wrap it up. They completed our move in 5 hours 50 minutes! That included the wrapping and unwrapping of our large furniture, and the 20 minute drive between homes. I'll definitely be using them for my future moves. Outstanding job gentlemen! read more

I've used this company 3 times in the last 3 months and we've had some weird issue every time. In short, the work gets done- but it's not efficient at all and has affected our day in a negative way each time. The worst thing is, we understand that hiccups happen sometimes, but this company does not take responsibility for their hiccups. They just say sorry without providing an appropriate solution. For example, my last move should've been done in 4 hours, we had a handyman and house cleaners scheduled based on this, but the movers took almost 8 hours to complete the job because of an issue with the moving truck. I had to pay the handyman $200 as agreed but there was NO work that he could complete because the movers were 4 hours late. Not to mention that our home was no longer going to be setup comfortably since it was too late in the day. This company offered apologies and a 5% discount which is literally a slap in the face. There were some great things about this move and some pretty bad things about the move as well. The guys were very helpful in removing the doors from my refrigerator and fixing my son's toolbox while they were doing the move. Unfortunately, we had a small refrigerator that they moved without asking what was in it. We did have some paint in it that was tightly lidded, but they packed it upside down. I don't know why you would ever pack an appliance upside down. Paint got everywhere, and luckily it was water-based, but we had to pause the unpacking for a good 30 minutes while we went for a mop because there was paint all over the living room floor that was starting to get tracked everywhere. My dining room table was disassembled, I have never had that happen before. It is heavy, but every other time I have moved, it was just turned it to the side and we got it through the door. That also added time to the move. Several boxes that were fragile were also packed sideways or upside down, including the one that had my computer in it. They were nice guys, but I do not think they were very professional except for the lead guy. Finally, at the end of the move, they tried to charge me $10 an hour more than was stated in the offer. They fixed it, but I also feel they should have taken an hour off of the move due to all of the mistakes. read more

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE !!! We just used them to move, they showed up with 0 tools to disassemble and reassemble furniture. When contacting the company to report the issue no one was able to speak English to give us a clear answer and anytime we did get a hold of someone they would say I'm sorry let me call you back then never call back. They were already in our home loading our furniture at this point. We had to drive from our new house to the old to disassemble the furniture for them. When they arrived at the house we were moving to and unloading they stood around our fridge for over 30 min to take off the wrapping because they did not bring a box cutter(charged for this time). On the drive over they stopped for lunch and included that time in the time billing us for service. Once they were done unloading we said we couldn't sign the contract bc the service that was supposed to be provided was not so we needed an update to the contract and what was provided in service. The 3 men proceeded to stand on our porch and not leave. We asked to speak to a manager to talk about the cost based on the service provided, one of the men began getting angry and us asking if we needed to call the cops. This resulted in him leaving and the other 2 not leaving our porch. I Called their business number and continued to get put on hold and stating the men will stay until we pay and they would offer a 5% discount for the inconvenience. We used Happy home moving for our in town move in Los Angeles (downtown to Sherman oaks) - they were very responsive from the initial contact, they followed up with timely calls - asked for $50 deposit when I decided to book (which seems to be the new norms in industry) George and his team (Michael and the third guy - sorry buddy I forgot your name) arrived on time. There was a hiccup on my part reserving an elevator from the apartment building which delayed the move by 45 min - but movers were very patient and understanding. The movers sent to us by your company were not prepared for this move. They were not set up by success by your company by not having the correct information or the right tools. They did not come off as experienced movers. The foremen kept having to speak with his supervisor on speakerphone about standard logistics which he was not prepared for and the other mover was constantly on his phone and not paying attention. On top of this, the move despite having only a few larger items was extremely slow. We have used movers before for our home and have never experience such inefficiency. To this point, my husband assisted with the move at both locations because they were struggling so much. He also reassembled the furniture on his own because the movers were honestly not able to do this. We found scratches on the bed frame from it being disassembled and move already, and we were not comfortable having them touch it any more. Every time we tried to contact your company, we were clearly routed to a call center that could not provide actual support or accurate information. On top of the unprofessionalism from the movers and the office, we had 3 changes to our bill in a matter of hours. After paying in full in cash, we were called by the call center and asked to zelle a random phone number $18 cause there was a math error. They were insistent it wasn't a scam, but when we pushed back it was just removed from the bill with no expectation. There are a lot of moving companies in LA. Told me they would refund my deposit and never did. Never use this service. Update: After I posted this review, the owner finally called me -- one month after the incident -- to refund my deposit and offer a half-assed apology. Then they started blowing up my phone, demanding I take the review down because they're a "small business" and apparently refunding me was some kind of favor. Great movers. They're clean, efficient, hard-working and take direction really well. We used the Yelp deal to help ease the financial burden but they weren't overpriced as it is. I was actually shocked how cheap it ended up being. I think previous negative reviews were for another group of guys because these 3 dudes were legit. We have no broken items and all of our stuff was well-cared for. The guys were from Russia and a few surrounding areas. Don't expect them to speak English, but they will if needed. We offered them Lacroix water often and allowed them use the restrooms. That's your call but it's the right thing to do. I wouldn't buy them lunch but didn't have to because they finished in 4 hours- California law will likely allow them a lunch break after 5.5 hours or so. read more

Poor service, poor customer service, very displeased. I moved on July 10th, 2022. I am deeply displeased with my service. When I spoke on the phone with Ben, I was quoted that it would be around a 4-hour job. I understand there is some wiggle room needed to allow for hiccups- however, this job took a total of 6 hours, 2 full hours past what I was quoted. As I watched the movers work, it felt as if they did not have a sense of urgency at all, and were purposefully stretching their time. I also saw the workers taking breaks (which is fine!) however that time was not deducted from my cost, even though the FAQ on your website says the customer does not pay for breaks. Time aside, I am very dissatisfied with the service I received. At point A (the apartment we were moving out of), the movers knocked over a glass bottle full of liquid. Accidents happen! However- they did not communicate with me that they broke it, nor did they clean up the glass or liquid.I had to find it, and clean it, after they left. At Point B (the apartment we were moving to), more problems arose. They did not place items where I instructed. Movers I have used in the past would set things up exactly as I directed, including unwrapping the plastic and plugging things in. Furthermore, we noticed the following things after they left: A dented lampshade (picture attached) A footprint on our mattress (picture attached) A cigarette butt on our living room floor The movers entered our bathroom without asking (we were keeping our service animals in there) and used the restroom without washing their hands (as we had yet to put soap out in that bathroom) And most glaringly: they did not screw in a crucial support beam when assembling our bed frame (picture attached). This is not only unprofessional but also a safety hazard. I paid over $700 for this service, and I am incredibly disappointed in my experience. I contacted the company with these exact concerns on July 11th, the day after the move. I have emailed with them back and forth a few times, but have received NO solid answers. They keep telling me that they're discussing it with the movers and their logistics team. Why discuss it with the movers? Obviously, the movers are going to feign innocence and say that they didn't do anything wrong. It has been a week since I have heard from them. Hopefully, something can be done soon, otherwise, I will be reviewing my legal options. read more

Booked for 2p, 3 hours minimum. So it's set for 2-5 moving time. No one showed up at 2. I called them. They said sorry running late. We'll be there at 4. I called them again at 4.15. They said they'll be there at 5. I told them upset about this. They said when we say 2-5. It means we arrive between 2-5. I've moved enough time to know that was crap. All they had to do was apologize. Instead they tried to make me feel stupid. I live in an high rise apartment. Where freight elevator have to be booked. So now the new apartment said if you don't get here by 6.30, you have to move in tomorrow It is now 6.32. Lets see how this pans out. I may have to stay t a hotel tonight. And I don't know where my furniture will go. Before I go, let me tell you this last point. I emailed them to let them know, the truck can't be higher than 10'. Guess what. It was bigger than that. So we can't get into the loading dock. And there is no parking around the building. F*** happy movers read more

Terrible experience with the company. They changed the hours of moving so we were late for drop off, then they charged me $200 for overnight storage which should've been their responsibility. Then to drop off the items from the night before which were only 1 hour job, they charged me $370 and kept the furniture hostage until I pay the minimum 3 hour!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. My experience with Happy Home Moving was extremely frustrating. The movers were over 40 minutes late to start the job, and what should have been a simple job turned into an all-day disaster. It took them over 2 hours to unload our storage unit, and their excessive travel time added unnecessary delays. Worse, when they arrived at the new storage facility, they caused a serious accident that damaged the property and delayed the move even further. 2 hours later, they still hadn't started unloading, despite the entire day being wasted with delays - AND THEY CHARGED US FOR THE TIME to solve their damage issues with the property. To make matters worse, the movers attempted to withhold personal ID and coerce us into paying over $900 before the job was done! After the many delays, we were close to the storage facility being closed so they then tried to charge me an additional $250 for overnight storage, due to their own inefficiencies! There was no contract and no Bill of Lading provided to us before the job began -- which was a red flag to begin with for legal reasons. We made a huge mistake using them as there seemed to be several California law violations. If you value your time, money, and belongings, avoid this company at all costs. read more

The guys were extremely professional (all came in masks and maintained distance), efficient and really nice! The wrapped each and every piece of furniture, they've even taken care of our motorcycle! They made our moving day such a breeze!! We had a move out from a second floor unit and the guys were going up and down those stairs like it was nothing. And lastly the were considerate enough to take toll roads just to help us minimize the drive time!! Not a single item was scratched. We will definitely be calling them again for our next move! I used Happy Home Moving last year. Was too afraid to put this review before, so I waited a while before doing so because the movers knew where I lived. It all started nice enough. When I booked, they told me I would need 2 - 3 movers, so I got 3. The movers got to the house a little late, but all good. Ordered myself and the movers breakfast as we were getting started. Ate for about 30 minutes and it was on to work! This is where the not-so good stuff began. They were working VERY slowly. Lots of sitting around. Chatting. Being on the phone browsing Instagram. I get that this is physically taxing work and they need to take a break every now and then, but it seemed that they were taking their time on purpose. I was paying Happy Homek Moving hourly, so I was kind of concerned and I told them that I needed to get out of the house at a certain time so they would get moving. They did not like this and were a little passive aggressive throughout after that. I asked them to be very careful with my pottery, and discovered that they cracked TWO of my pots. There were too many things to sort through after the move, so I did not discover it until way after they left because they hid them behind a bunch of stuff. Also saw a couple of dings on my wooden furniture. For people that took it very slow, they were a bit careless. Invoice was way over what I was originally quoted because they were so slow. When I was paying, the movers were also standing very close around me as I was putting in the tip as if to intimidate me into tipping more. It was a tense moment and I felt that I had to give them a high tip even though it was an unpleasant experience. Afterwards, the head mover also kept texting me to write a good review... uhh. Overall, I paid almost $2,000 for 3 movers + a truck for a small 3-bedroom home. They will say and do whatever it takes to get your business, then provide subpar service. read more

Broke my television and intentionally didn't unwrap it, hid the broken corner of the screen with a pillow then denied my claim after 4 weeks of saying they were "looking into it". They also chipped so much of my furniture and were no prepared with a big enough truck so said they couldn't take everything. They also broke several planters. Not a legit business and I plan to file a complaint with the state and take to small claims court. Complete waste of time and money. Would've been better off renting a uhaul. read more

EDIT: I ended up adding an extra star to my review here. I initially was a tiny bit unsatisfied with how my move went, but the company has truly shown they are willing to go above and beyond to correct the minor wrongs that occurred during my move in Sept 2022. I booked a full service pack/move for late-September and the packers were not super thorough or careful. The company let me know that they were looking into it, having a talk with their employees. HHM also gave me a pretty decent refund for time I had to waste going back-and-forth from my old home to my new home to get stuff the movers had forgotten as well as shore up the very few things that were slightly damaged. I would say if you hire happy home moving (ESP on pack/move days) be sure to always voice what you need done as *often* as possible with the movers. They will definitely listen to you as long as they are directed on what to do. I think that pretty much goes for any moving company. When strangers are in your home packing all of your worldly possessions, nonchalance about your move just isn't an option. That all being on the table, I'd use happy home moving again. read more
