I had a busted wheel on my bag. The airlines don't cover wheel damage so that sort of freed me to shop and find my own repair outlet. The google and yelp searches led me to Luggage Town which is in an Industrial park a few blocks away from Vaughan Mills Luggage Town is not just a town but a very packed city of suitcases and suitcase parks. The sole proprietor who runs it doesn't seem to be too hungry for business but happened to have enough time to take a quick look at my suitcase, complimented me on the suitcase, and rummaged through his brain whether he had a similar model to swap out the wheel. He believed he did and just told me to come back in an hour. He called me back in 50 minutes (within SLA!) and not only did he replace the wheel but he tightened all four of my wheel sections, all for $40 cash. I'm happy to consider this place for future gigs if I'm in a bind with my luggage. Glad to see one industry whose mom and pop shops aren't getting crushed by the big suitcase industrial complex! read more

Mike the luggage guy is an amazing person and excellent suitcase engineer! We walked to the place with any appointment on a Friday evening @ 5:15 PM with two broken suitcases and airlines request recipient to fix them. He replaced one without any hassles as he could see the body of the suitcase was broken and is not fixable. He was gentle enough to ask us for the choices of colour and some suitcase type. He gave as a little better range suitcase than our Kirkland one. For second one, which was non-canadian Samsonite, wheel was broken. And he spent like 1.5 hours to find the best match. He replaced it with other wheel, suitcase was still wobbly. He scraped to make it of correct size. It still didn't get fix. So he requested us to leave our contact and he will replace both the front wheels. On sharing our details the guy realized we live far, so this gentleman went again in all his depository to find two same wheels which could fit, so that we don't have to come again. He could have simply asked us to leave the luggage and come back later. Or just could have asked us to come another day by appointment. He for sure knows how to do his job and provide an excellent customer service! read more

Mike is a master craftsman of a lost art in our throwaway society. He has repaired luggage wheels and zippers for me while I waited and told me, that not only is he an authorized repair center for the Eagle Creek brand, that also there was no cost to me - just fill out a form. Now, if you are expecting a fancy showroom, salespeople, customer service folks and a waiting room.. then you are in the wrong place. This is a solo practice. You wait in line, standing among a hoarder's dream of broken luggage, in a dark, warehouse-like space with an old news radio playing and dust in the air. Mike is gruff and lacks customer service skills, but makes up for it in craftsmanship. I expected to leave my trusty carry on bag and return several days later, but no - he fixed the luggage while I waited. Just bring your patience and remember to thank him! January 18, 2023 Re: Luggage Town Ltd. My wife and I very seldom write reviews but in light of our experience at Luggage Town we feel a review is highly warranted. My wife and I brought my well-travelled Briggs and Riley 28" suitcase into Luggage Town Ltd. to get a zipper pull repaired. Notwithstanding the fact that my suitcase has a lifetime warranty, it is has become increasingly difficult to find anyone competent to make repairs to my loved travel luggage. I called Luggage Town and asked if they did in fact repair Briggs and Riley luggage. I was told they did and there would be no charge (Briggs and Riley provides free repairs for a lifetime). It was our first visit to Luggage Town and we travelled all the way from downtown Toronto to Concord to get my bag fixed. It was definitely worth the trip. My wife and I entered a store full to the ceiling of a cornucopia baggage parts. We were met by the owner Michael Goril who quickly replaced the entire zipper pull while we waited. I then noticed that a section of the seam on my luggage had also pulled away and Mr. Goril took my bag and expertly sewed it up on a large industrial sewing machine, also while we waited. While talking to him we learned that he used to work as an engineer. That did not surprise us. In this world of dubious claims of skill and expertise and broken promises, one feels extremely fortunate to come across someone who is an old-world master artisan and craftsman who is honest, immensely capable, technically proficient and does what he claims he can do while exceeding one's expectations. We read some reviews that described Mr. Goril as gruff. We would say that a better description is that he is refreshingly honest and direct. He is an old-world no-nonsense type of guy. However, as my wife and I talked with Mr. Goril, we also discovered a man with a great sense of humour who was kind, considerate, respectful and immensely humane. If you want to take your luggage to a place that is slick, don't go to Luggage Town. But if you want to have your valued luggage repaired by an expert craftsman who will restore your luggage to its best state, there is no better place to go that we are aware of. Wow! What a great service. We arrived here with two broken suitcases, thanks to baggage handling by Turkish Airlines. Mike was on call with warranty department at Tumi fighting for another customer whose warranty had expired and was negotiating a lower upgrade price on customer's behalf. It was Friday evening so the customer service reps were mostly gone and he patiently spent 15-20 mins being transferred from rep to Team Lead to Manager until he got a satisfactory answer. Then came our turn. Our first suitcase was cracked and we were given a new suitcase, no questions asked. The second suitcase had a missing wheel, for which he tried to find a suitable replacement. He tried on a few and none of them fit perfectly. He tried for 90 mins so that we don't have to drive all the way from Brampton again. But alas, it was not to be. He took our details and we left our luggage happily with a promise to get a call back when it's repaired. Couldn't be happier with the service. I went to Luggage Town to get my Briggs and Riley garment bag repaired. Because of my experience with another repair center, I was prepared to leave my bag for up to a month. But, Mike Goril got to work right away and, within a few minutes, replaced both wheels and repaired the broken zipper. The same work took the store on Don Castor a month. I was advised to call this company via my employer in order to have some luggage repaired. The gentleman who answered the phone was hands-down the rudest individual I have ever spoken to. I politely stated my company and issue when questioned. He then proceeded to scream (yes, scream) at me repeatedly that it would take "weeks" before he could even asses my item. Maybe he was having a bad morning? Perhaps his pet tarantula had just died? Regardless, his words, tone and attitude were totally unacceptable. It's a shame because maybe their technical team is amazing but I would not recommend dealing with this gentleman to anyone. read more

I was over at Luggage town yesterday to pick up a luggage Samsonite was sending to me and to repair another piece of luggage that another shop could not repair. He repaired the zipper promptly while I was waiting and at no charge. This was very surprising. In addition, at the time I was there the luggage from Samsonite had not arrived and he personally called the Fedex driver to get time of arrival. This I consider premier customer service.
