Today, I had the meat ravioli with a side salad, and my husband had the baked cod with linguine in clam sauce. Both the food and the service were great. The restaurant gave off an authentic Italian vibe. I also liked all the signed photos of sports stars and other celebrities on the walls. As we enjoyed our dinner, it was nice to hear music from Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, and others that aren't usually played. Great Italian food. The recipes are from the owners family. Most of the staff are from the family. They take good care of the customers. They also have a full bar for your enjoyment. Nice family envorments that with notice they can seat 8-12 people. read more

We've been enjoying Luigi's food for years. No issues!! The staff has been very attentive and accommodating. If Louie is in the building, you will know it. He makes his rounds to welcome his patrons, and affirm that they are well taken care of. Try their prime rib or a nice dish of spaghetti. Skip's tomato salad is oh so good! We love Luigi's! I have eaten at Luigi's in DuBois, PA in the past. This is the first time I have eaten at Luigi's in Clymer, PA. I must say, the Clymer Luigi's blows the DuBois Luigi's out of the water. It is a wonderful place to have awesome Italian food and be able to talk to your dinner mate. The lighting is perfect for date night with your wife. The staff is extremely professional. I had the Chicken Maria and my wife had the Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp. We were both in complete shock on how good our meals were. From the homemade bread to the coconut cream pie, we could not find anything wrong with the food at all. When we got the bill, I was anticipating a $120 bill. But no, it was only $68 bill. The parking is street parking. It is horrible. I will not ding this establishment for the parking. I have to hand it to Clymer, it is a quarter for two hours at the parking meter. The borough gets a golf clap for keeping people moving from parking spots without trying to rape people for doing there shopping. read more

I love Luigi's . Eggplant parm is the best I ever had. Actually I love all of it. Service is always great. Love it when we get Haley. Great for families or for dating . Really great specialty drinks . Friendly quaint and also homey a lot of family pictures on the walls. You can tell family is very important to them . RJ insisted we go to Luigi's and I was a little skeptical of an Italian restaurant in the middle of nowhere. But to my surprise it was fantastic! We made reservations and were seated within 10 minutes. Our server Madison was wonderful, she was so sweet and friendly. We started with a liter of homemade summer sangria which was fruity and sweet. The bread was homemade and fresh and we ordered tomato salad to go with it. My lobster ravioli was so good, it tasted as if the lobster was dipped in butter before they made it into ravioli. It had a perfectly cheesy, creamy Alfredo sauce. I definitely won this round of who ordered best! RJs chicken parm was huge and we ordered the Luigi sampler to take home to his mom. We saw they had homemade German chocolate cake and had to get that too. Our total for 3 entrees, bread, salads, pieces of cake and sangria was $103. This would have easily been $200+ in Key West or NY. What a hidden gem in the middle of western PA! read more

My family and I made reservations for a party of 9 last Saturday night. I was rather looking forward to this visit as it had been quite some time since my last visit. After this visit, I'm really not sure I'll be returning any time soon. My whole family was seated immediately, given menus, and drink orders were taken. Note: They do NOT offer free refills on drinks (with the exception of water.) The menu, in my humble opinion, is rather lacking. Our waiter was quick to bring out homemade bread. (The bread is really good, by the way). After looking over the menu, we all placed our orders... and that's when the issues started. My brother ordered BBQ wings. When his order arrived, he was given an order of BBQ baby back ribs. (Strike 1) We explained the situation to the waitress, who admitted she told the kitchen the wrong dish and offered to take the meal off the check. When we got the check, the meal was still on the check and we had to remind her to take it off (Strike 2). My mom asked for garlic bread with her meal, and it didn't come out until we were all finished with our meal. (Strike 3). My fiance ordered the prime rib that was on special, and he said it was mainly all fat. (Strike 4). I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. I can't say I have any actual complaints on my food, but it certainly wasn't anything special. The salad was nothing more than bagged iceberg salad with a sliced tomato on top. The noodles tasted like noodles you'd by at the store and the sauce tasted like cheap sauce from a jar. Nothing worth close to $16. I have to give the restaurant some credit here: it was a busy Saturday evening with a number of large parties. The dining room was packed. All in all, I'd say they did a decent job of handling everyone. Overall, I have to say I really don't understand the allure of this place. Decor is terribly outdated. Food is so-so. Prices are kind of ridiculous. Parking is terrible. Mind you this wasn't my first Luigi's experience. Maybe I'm missing something about this place... read more

I took my wife to Luigi's for her birthday. This was the first time that we attended this establishment and it was well worth the trip. I'm biased I grew up in Clymer and have always known Italian food to taste like Luigi's...so I rate Italian food that way...I now live in Pittsburgh and rarely get time to go there, but when I do it is like being a teenager again...so of course I always speak highly of them...I get the cod Romano almost every time I'm there...great atmosphere, really good Italian food...good conversations...I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

We attended a wedding in Indiana Pa from out of town and we heard about this place from some local relatives. It's located in a small tiny town (Clymer) tucked in the back hills of Western Pa. The facilities, decor and atmosphere here is a bit old fashioned and aging but the cuisine was very good. It was a Friday evening and the place was getting crowded after 6 pm. There aren't that many upscale restaurants in Indiana County but I recommend this one if you like Italian food. Very reasonably priced too. read more

Went to this restaurant for the first time Saturday night and was blown-away by the food quality, service, and prices. A great place for dinner with family and friends. We had five in our group, each ordered different items and everyone was pleased with their meals and left the restaurant full. If I could give zero I would. I asked about the wine list. They had Pinot Noir, but made by Cavit. Ugh. It is unfortunate that people in this area are not exposed to good food. The tomato sauce that is used is also mass produced and tastes like jar sauce in the restaurant. It is sweet and has no tomato flavor. The pasta was over cooked. I had linguini which should me flat, but because of the over cooking it had absorbed too much water and became very think. Even the side salad was bad. It had too much blue cheese and over took the greens. My friend had the lasagna. He is from this area and liked all the sauce and sweet sauce. I couldn't eat my meal. The chicken piccata was horrible in flavor. Actually there was no flavor. It was flat. No briney taste from the capers. No hint of acid. And chopped up R stew sized chicken breast. Ugh! Horrible. Writing this review has my mouth watering and I'm sure dreams of their lasagna will haunt me tonight. Luigi's is in a blink and you'll miss it town of Clymer, PA. It's about 20 minutes outside of Indiana, PA- and well worth the drive. People have been known to drive up from Pittsburgh for a meal. It's a traditional, no-nonsense, family Italian restaurant. The lobby is filled with family photos with famous people. You're immediately greeted with a sense that you're going to be taken care of. In the decades I've been going there, I've yet to have a bad meal. The lasagna is to-die-for and the best I've eaten anywhere in the world. They make stuffed pork chops once a month (call in advance)- if they're the weekend special, make sure to try them. While I was growing up, it was tradition to have Saturday evening meals there, so I've sampled most of the menu. I can't recall ever being disappointed- or not leaving with ample leftovers to feed me for days. read more

On recommendation from Jon & Bill at Farnsworth House, hubby and I drove in to the tiny town of Clymer for an Italian dinner. It was the only restaurant they recommended. We were not disappointed. We were taken here as guests to the area. Started with the garden salad with their house dressing. Very basic, but very good nonetheless! The bread basket arrived fresh and warm.. Yummmy!! For lunch I opted for the steak hoagie with cheese, peppers and onions. I added mayo and S&P and overall was delicious! The fresh roll was lightly toasted. My cousin got the Godmother sandwhich which is basically an Italian sub and said it too was very good. Atmosphere is nice with pictures covering the walls. You won't run out of things to look at! Had a nice Sunday afternoon family meal. I had the famous lasagna. It had a thick, sweet sauce, and was made with a lot of cheese. The noodles were well done. The meal came with a surprise - a nice sized, delicious meatball. My wife had eggplant Parmesan, and son had chicken Parmesan. Both were satisfied with their meals, especially the chicken. Staff were all very polite, the service was attentive, and meals arrived quickly. This place is definitely a gem. read more
