I came to Luis Allen hair salon after going to another salon when the 3 times I went, I had a different colorist each time because they had so much turnover....that should've been my queue to run!! But I didn't and alas, that's why I have so many different shades of hair in my "before" photo, then a good friend of mine recommended Luis Allen salon, specifically Kate Rebel, and I just cannot see anyone else doing my color from now on. Kate made sure to do a strand test on my hair before we even started to see what my hair can tolerate as far as lightening since my hair had been color treated before so she wanted to be sure any technique she used was going to keep my hair healthy and strong. I appreciate her taking the time to make sure she did what was best for my hair, she's a true master in her craft. As you can see in my "after" photo, she used a color-melt method that resulted in gorgeous color that melts from the darker to the lighter tones in the most flawless way. Arrived here at 3:30 for my scheduled service, and the stylist who claims to be the owner Leighanna was still putting on hair dye on her client and didn't let her receptionist inform me that she is running behind. I was sitting in the sitting area for 17 min without anyone telling me that she was running behind! Don't overbook a client if you have poor time management!! She wasted my time and didn't care to even tell me what time I will be seen. There were other stylists who didn't have their clients wait and they are not the owners of the salon. I would not recommend this place for their lack of empathy, professionalism and extreme poor management, and the owner didn't care to make it right! So no cut in over a year, new salon, very fine, thin, and top-thinning hair; you better believe I was nervous. Bobby cut my hair. He's on the young side (okay to me almost everyone is on the young side), but his skill set is NOT young. I was thrilled with the cut then, and 2 weeks later. Update I didn't like that hair cut at first but now that it has settled it actually looks okay and I think that it will grow out okay she did a very good job with the layering and the texture now it still dose look like a bowl cut but it will grow out into what I want it to be the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because she cut it a bit short but other than that it was really good read more

Technical ability is there but what good is that if they consistently don't do what you ask for. One example: explicitly communicated I wanted no roots and to still be blonde. She took it upon herself to add a dark toner. When I asked why she said I wanted to give you a trendy color for your daughters wedding. Seriously!!?? I am from a small town and was desperately looking for a hair salon with good stylists. I researched and came across and found Luis Allen, an upscale salon in Rockwall, TX. It is an hour away, but for a good cut I was willing to make the drive. Their website was nice with bios of their stylists. I picked Adria who had 17 years' experience. On 3/3/2023 I met with Adria and showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair cut. A short, simple shag with lots of layers. Well, she cut my hair into a bob and full bangs and some layers. The picture had side bangs and tapered/angled sides. The cut was nice. She was nice, but it wasn't what I showed her in the picture. I called the salon later; it wasn't what I wanted. Glenda scheduled me an appointment with Adrian (Rian) for 3/16. When I arrived a little before 4 o'clock my appt time, he was finishing up with a client. He was done by 4, but did not come to get me until 4:10. Again, I showed him the picture and he nodded. This stylist was not a good stylist. He appeared to be spaced out and started randomly cutting my hair He kept jumping from section to section not even comparing sections to see if they were the same length. He finished pretty quickly, and I was very upset. I showed him the picture, again, and told him I wanted my sides cut the way they were in the picture. My sides are now shorter, but not angled/tapered like in the picture. The back of my hair is way too long in proportion to the sides. The right side of my bangs are longer. I look horrible. I have a mullet. Now, mind you, the store front is very attractive, and the inside decor is very nice. It is clean and the stations are set up to afford some privacy. I, so far, have spent $192.23 at this "high-end" salon to receive a Great Clips haircut. I am extremely dissatisfied, disappointed and offended. I am an older woman, and I was treated poorly. The owner of this establishment needs to make sure he is hiring qualified, adaptable stylists and that they are not discriminating against the elderly. If I ever return, I will see Adria, again. She may not have given me the cut I wanted, but she took her time, it was a nice cut and I looked good. I believe a refund is in order. read more
