I came to this salon, after being referred to a stylist who works here. The salon is nicely decorated and the service I received I was happy with. My stylist was very attentive, professional and disclosed all the charges related to my service before hand. My issue is with the salon itself. When I proceeded to pay, I realized there was a $9 charge for using a card. I had never seen that at a salon before. I wouldn't have mind leaving that in addition to the tip I left for my stylist, because she was the one who did my service, but a charge for a card fee, that's definitely not the norm. I would love coming back to her, but hope they revise this practice. read more

I came here to get a curly perm and the lady who did my hair did not do a good job, my hair now is super damaged and dry, asked to get a refund or get my hair fixed, was told that I would have to pay for the service again. Went to another hair salon to see if I can get my hair fixed and was told I'll have to chop off 3 inches off. read more

Hair cut, color and touch up perm. I was quite nervous to go to another person after being with my hairdresser in NJ for 22 years but had to find someone here in Texas since I needed my hair colored desperately. First I went to Rachel for the hair coloring, she did a great job and I loved the color! Then for the perm and cut I saw Kayla. There was a bit of a communication problem, I wasn't quite sure of the procedure for perm and cut, but we worked it out, more like Kayla explained it in simple terms that my brain could understand ! Now let me say, no one tell my old hairdresser please, but Kayla outdid my old hairdresser! The perm turned out fantastic and the cut just made it better! I was so happy, and relieved! I also let Kayla know that I would like her to be doing everything to my hair exclusively instead of splitting it up between 2 people. That was part of my confusion. I love Kayla's work and we got along great, she's a really good conversationalist and we had a lot in common. In fact, I will be booking a new appointment soon so I won't have any horrible whites before my vacation in August! Book an appointment with Kayla, you won't be disappointed. I get my hair colored and cut by Cher, have for the last couple of years now. I have hair color a.d.d. So I'm steadily changing it up. From black to red and then blonde again, and never have to fear about my hair bc she is so knowledgeable about everything hair! She really does care for her clients, always wants to make sure you're happy when you leave her chair. I have an undercut which requires weekly trims, I go to Alyssa Wheat for my in betweens with Cher (Cher has been there a long time, has lots of clients and is busy. For quick trims or shaves of my undercuts I do sometimes go to someone else. Also they price on a tiered level based on experience. A bang trim (shaving my undercut) with Cher is $20, it's $10 with Alyssa) I get massages from both massage therapist currently. I am a regular every 4 weeks! I truly can't say I prefer one more than the other. Stephanie is sweet, I find her relaxing and calming. Has a great technique and always leaves me melted! read more

I have not been able to find a good hair salon since I moved to Texas 6 years ago. I would go back home to Missouri to get my hair done. Well I have finally found my salon and a fantastic stylist. Brooke was so sweet and did an amazing job with my hair. She took the time to talk to me about what I wanted, asked lots of questions to understand my wishes and hit it out of the park!! I very rare give a review but this deserves zero stars. I called to make an appointment inquiring about cost of hair highlight. I discussed highlight, hair cut and color coverage. I was quoted a price. I called right back to confirm the price again I chose to make an appointment with a level 1 stylist because I don't want the cost of a master stylist. I drive 50 minutes for the appointment for me to sit in a chair to be quoted $125 more than quote over the phone. I understand there may be a price difference but that much more was unexpected. My hair is fine and shoulder length. Nothing extreme. The front desk person I addressed the concern with never cracked a smile , tone was rude and didn't seem they'd care if they lost a customer. I'm new to the area and have hesitated for 5 months about doing anything with my hair. I'm going grey and have been covering it for years with the help of my extremely gifted stylist in Newport Beach, Ca. I let my roots grow out about 3 inches so I had an idea of what my true color is, and it turned out to be a dark, cool-toned dark brown/black with silver threads throughout. I knew what I didn't want: some hair-destroying process that left me with grey frizz or a haircut leaving my hair 2 inches long. I read about Kayla on the Rockwallian and began following her on Instagram. I took the plunge last week and I couldn't be happier. She covered my brassy brown with a perfectly matched dye, turning everything below my roots into the dark brown/black that I see in my roots. And she's gradually working in lighter streaks. Kim always knows exactly how to help me achieve the color and cut I want. She is 100% honest about what would/would not work with my hair. I trust her implicitly! I also wanted to take this time to praise Britani and her knowledge of skin. She noticed a troublesome spot on my face and encouraged me to seriously go see a dermatologist to see about it. I did so and the dermatologist did a biopsy. Fortunately, it came back benign. But had Britani not encouraged me to go, it could have very well been something more serious. She definitely knows her stuff. She has helped me get my skin on track. I no longer cover my face in foundation to hide imperfections. Just a tinted mositurizer sunscreen! I think my hair and skin is healthier and looks better now at 38 than it did at 18! Love love love HSAS! read more

For several years after I moved to the Dallas area I wandered from top rated salon to top rated salon in search of a hair stylist. Not just any hair stylist, but a hair stylist that would listen when I told them I don't do anything to my hair. I wash and go. If the cut doesn't look decent like this then it will end up in a ponytail 100% of the time. Most of the stylists that I encountered tried to change me. It was sad. I was sad. Then I called Heath Hair and Spa and had the luck of getting an appointment with Ren. I have never considered wandering again. She listens. She cuts a mean head of hair. She is a sweetheart. Annnnnnnd, she looks like a badass doing it. Go to Ren, you won't be sad anymore either. P.S. I agree with the other reviewer who said you shouldn't be deterred by the outside of the building. So the outside of this place looks super scary. It's in a run-down shopping center but the inside is really nice so don't leave just because of the outside (we almost did). I was here this last weekend for a spa day with two of my friends. I had the hot stone massage and the salt glow scrub, both done by Meredith, and was super pleased. She used the perfect amount of strength during the massage and made sure to identify any knots and work them out. After my massage came my scrub and I got to stay in the same room so I didn't even have to get off the table! After the scrub, I was provided a comfy robe, slippers and a bag for my things and escorted to the shower to rinse off the extra salt that wasn't wiped away by the warm towels. My skin was super soft and I felt great. My friends raved about their services, one got a facial and another got a manicure. Everyone was really nice and pleased with their services. We were looking for a spa close to where we thought my sister's upcoming wedding would be. As a tradition, the bridal party all goes out for a spa day the day of the wedding. We needed a place that does hair, make-up, and nails. We also wanted a place that could handle the entire bridal party (3-4 ladies), mom's, and other family and friends that wanted to join us for our fun on the day of the wedding. After a few phone calls, and dead ends, my sister-in-law suggested this place. They had openings the day we needed to come in to "test" it out with pedicures. Yippee! A wedding planning weekend with pedicures. Sounds fun to me! They have two pedicure chairs and two manicure stations, several hair booths and at least one make up station. It seemed very clean, tidy, and affordable. The people that work there are very nice. We had the entire nail area to the four of us. They came to check on us ever so often to make sure we had plenty of water and tea and that we were having a good time. This place would definitely work depending on where the bride-to-be decides to get married. However, I wasn't that impressed with my pedicure. The lady did cut one of my toes a little (not bleeding or anything, but definitely stingy when she put some of the cleaner on my nails) and they polish was not crisp. In other words, there is not a crisp line around the edge of my toenails where the polish ends, it more fades as it gets closer to my skin from her not removing the excess polish properly. For normal people who get their toes done often, this wouldn't be a problem, but I go for a few weeks and it is super obvious two weeks later. read more

Customer service has declined significantly. Before our last appt, I was called to see if I could come later for my appointment. I said no & that I would prefer to reschedule if the stylist would be late. I was assured that she wouldn't. I arrived on time. There were no chairs available in the lobby. I was 40 weeks pregnant at the time & no one offered a chair while we waited 20+ minutes. The stylist finally took us back, never apologized, and still didn't offer a chair as she took over 30 minutes to cut my 4 year old son's hair. He was very still throughout, yet it was so uneven that I had to fix it myself at home. My whole family has used this salon for years, but this has been the trend for the last several appointments. We're probably going to go elsewhere from now on. read more
