She's incredibly smart and before finding Atlas she was pretty well behaved but I had sort of hit a wall with her undesirable behavior (barking, separation anxiety, jumping up on people). I knew she needed better instruction than my partner and I were giving her, but knowing how social my dog is, a group puppy class didn't seem ideal. Luckily I met Atlas owner, Danny, and immediately I felt the right vibe. He seemed to have a training approach based in dog psychology, and I knew I was gonna have to think like my very intelligent dog if I was going to effectively communicate with her. I then met with Thomas (who I thoroughly enjoyed on a personal level too!) for only 2 hours and we went over a lot... all sorts of tips and tricks and it helped me to understand the overall philosophy of dog training. I was so busy going over every training mistake i had made, that I didn't even notice that Thomas was efficiently correcting her and my dog began to be on her best behavior... quietly cuddled next to me. Later on that night the change became more apparent when my partner was also like "um did you notice how obedient puppy is being?" We began joking that it's like we brought over a military school recruiter and now she's like "I'll be good! I'll be good!" We're not 100% sure which tip that Thomas gave us was so magical (but I suspect correcting the pack hierarchy was a major point) but it worked! Barking has turned into a low growl or nothing at all, she's stopped pestering us for fetch in favor of waiting for "play time", the results are kinda mind blowing! But the best part I never saw coming. Until seeing the after effects of Thomas I didn't realize how my stressed my puppy was. So now everyone in the house is happier! Thought I'd provide a warning for any owners of pets with notable health conditions, like my pom…read morewith severe tracheal collapse. I brought Oliver in today for an evaluation. He had never been to a daycare facility before, at least not since we adopted him. I had my doubts as to whether he would gel with the experience. He's very difficult with people he doesn't know, but generally does alright at dog parks and is fine with professionals like vets and groomers, so I figured with another set of professionals he may be alright after all. And to be completely fair, he WAS difficult. They told me had to be wrapped in a towel for anyone to approach him to remove his leash and took a couple hours to actually socialize with any dogs. This guy has to go in for grooms and vet tech appointments monthly where his leash has to come off and while I have no illusions about him being a difficult dog, he is, this is the first I've honestly ever heard that removing his leash was an issue at all. Considering what followed with his return, and that this is a thing that's never come up before, it's left me wondering how much of it was truly Oliver and how much of it was the staff. When he came back to me he was squirrelly and jumping around with a very thick gauge rope around his neck. As he has severe tracheal collapse, this is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable, as anything that pulls at his neck can exacerbate his condition, or worse, completely cave in his trachea, killing him. The staff member that brought him out admitted she was new here but said that nobody from the AM shift said anything about his severe tracheal collapse, nor was she aware of it being noted in his online profile (it's absolutely a thing I made a note of, along with his medicinal schedule to treat him for this disease). She informed me that he would not be a good fit for their facility. Fair enough. An evaluation is exactly that, and if he doesn't gel I'm not obligated to their services. If that's all it was, I wouldn't be here writing a review. Instead I wanted to offer a warning for any pet owners that may have a dog with severe medical issues or concerns to consider going elsewhere where staff may be more sensitive and attentive and not outright dangerously negligent. That he's not a good fit for Playful Pack, I say the feeling is mutual.

I've used this company for about a year and a half and have had a good experience with my dog's…read morededicated walker, but anytime a substitute walker is needed there seem to be issues. A decent example is when the substitute didn't have a key to my unit (a key which my dedicated walker has) and saw that the management office was closed (there is a sign on the door saying to push a call button to get in touch with someone from the management office), instead of calling my cell or my emergency contact, the walker just stayed in the lobby for the allotted walk time. This meant that my dog didn't get walked that day. Unfortunately, this wasn't the first time so I write this review as a caution to anybody looking for pet walking services that while this company's dedicated walkers are great, they don't have the best customer service when your walker isn't available and at the price you're paying per walk, it's unacceptable that this type of incident has happened on multiple occasions.
