I came to the office the same day after having a D.O. tell me I needed to see a neurosurgeon, and my pain levels were off the charts due to vertebrae and disc damage in my neck which had been degenerating for 10+yrs. Nerve pain like I cannot even describe; let's just say I filled out my paperwork on the floor in tears when I arrived. After a special x-ray which looks at the atlas of the spine (a bone that basically holds your head on straight) I knew just how bad my situation was. We had just moved to GA and due to this injury I lost my new job, then sank into a deep depression. I love everyone that works here! The front office staff is very kind and professional. They will work with you for finances and times to come in. They are constantly asking for feed back themselves to improve any processes. Dr. Lukas is very knowledgeable and addresses my concerns before I started this process and as we go. He is also a nutrition guru and while he is all about helping feel better - he also wants you to live better with better eating and exercise habits to continue a life lived well. Each time I come here feels a bit spa-esque. I like this holistic approach of resting before and after to allow everything to "seat" and minimize spasm activity. Right after my first adjustment, I knew this is where I wanted to be treated. After my axis was aligned, I had immediate relief in my hands that had been tingling for years prior. I knew from X-rays taken in office that my neck was significantly twisted which explained the pinched and tingling sensation in my left hand. 10 years ago at the age of 20 I was in a bad car accident. I had been unfamiliar with chiropractic care until a year later after the accident that I had neck, shoulder, and mid back issue pain. I've seen a spine specialist MD for years. I've not had surgery but have done RF ablation and injections for my neck. I have been to many chiropractors and this office and the care they give me is superior to them all. All chiropractors will tell you the importance of freeing your nervous system to heal you. They all use the same terms "subluxation," "degeneration," "innate intelligence" and how the "health of the spine directly impacts the health of the rest of the body." I believe in all of that and i believe the health plan Dr.Lukas has put together for me will deliver measurable results. I have been seeing him about 4 mos. In that time, my stress level and some of my common ailments have been reduced. We took a baseline xray that we will compare with another xray at 6mos. I can't wait to see the progress as we improve the curvature of my neck and back. In the meantime, we have also been addressing my diet and it was eye opening how seemingly "healthy" foods I eat every day impact my health. I cannot share enough great things about Lukas Health Center! Dr. Wolfertz and his team are simply incredible! I was ready to give up my dream and quit photography because it was just too painful. I started my treatment with Dr. Wolfertz for a neck injury and to improve/stop my scoliosis from worsening. After several months of treatment, I am experiencing less neck pain and I can finally do all the physical activities I love again (hike, dance, and I even signed up to a gym.) Dr. Wolfertz has great interpersonal communications skills and shows genuine concern for his patients' health! I first started coming here 3years ago for chiropractic care. I found getting out of bed difficult and needed a change! The doctors here have taken wonderful care of me and after 1 quick year I couldn't believe how changed I was! My seasonal job had me loading equipment vans for marching band competitions, working an event, and unloading the equipment trucks every weekend from mid September- mid November. Now its a breeze! I'm currently being seen more often after an auto accident back in August. Without them, I would still be feeling the effects of the accident. I have gone to chiropractors for over 30 years and it was always the same thing: temporary relief. In July of 2016 my back pain had become so bad I could barely stand it. I always enjoy coming to the office. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The type of chiropractic care they do is different than most and they take the time to really educate you on their processes and why it is important. I can normally get in and out pretty quickly and it's easy to reschedule if needed. When I started coming I was in pretty bad shape and needed to come several times a week. I'm just a few months I was straightened out, feeling tons better, and now only need to be seen once a month. In the past, at other chiropractors, this would take at least a year. I have been seeing Dr. Lukas for the past couple of years and highly recommend him. He focuses on the atlas bone which was an interesting and new approach to me. In the beginning of treatment, each new patient is given a pamphlet to read before their appointment so that they can learn more about chiropractic care and the health advantages it provides. You also learn about why the atlas bone is important and what to expect from your treatment. I found the pamphlets to be interesting and helpful. I broke my neck in a car accident in 2013 and began seeking a facility that could help specifically with the cervical issues that I was comfortable with. Dr. Matt is awesome. He took X-rays and sat me down and explained every detail so that I fully understood the anatomy, the prognosis with and without care, etc. The staff there is amazing...they are happy, professional and take the time to greet every patient like a long, lost friend. Have been going to this office for quite a while. I like their more medical/scientific approach. They don't just blindly pop and snap. Every patient is first x-rayed and then evaluated. There is a quick evaluation every time you go for an appointment. They want to see if you need adjusting, where you need adjusting, and how they need to approach it. I have been to other chiropractors in the past, this is the first one to adjust my atlas. I have gotten more long term relief with this approach. The staff is nice and easy to work with. Being an athlete for many years, I had a lot of back, hip, and neck pain prior to coming here. I wasn't able to hold my son for more than 5-10 minutes without extreme pain almost every time. I went to Lukas chiropractic a year and a half ago. I had a lot of neck, upper back, and shoulder pain. I had already been to an orthopedist, physical therapy, message, etc. Nothing worked. This has worked great for me. I feel so much better. I come in once a month now and they can check to see if I need an adjustment with a diagnostic tool and if I don't I'm good to go. I love it!
