By far Lululemon is one of my daughter's favorite stores. They have a few locations around, but this was inside the Prudential Center. The mall is upscale and fitting for this clothing retailer which has basic shirts that run $60. They also carry clothing for men on a much smaller scale. My daughter has several items from them and they wash, wear and hold up. It seemed like there was adequate staff, I know that my daughter had no issues and also received help at the dressing room. The store was clean, neat in appearance and had a cool feel to it. Your pup will even like it as a water bowl is beside the water fountain. Checkout was smooth and of course you get the snazzy bag. My daughter uses the bags for school lunch. The prices are really high in my opinion. It's trendy and hot now and if you have the dough to splurge on yourself or kid go for it. read more

I visited your store in the Prudential Center this past week and had a very mixed experience. The store seemed understaffed and disorganized, and it took a lot of work to find sales help. I have visited other Lululemon stores, including your larger location on Newbury Street, and have had much better experiences. No one was unfriendly at your store, and I appreciated that you had some of my desired items in stock and my size, but I waited way too long for sales help, and then I had to compete with other customers for their attention. Right when i walked in i was greeted and taken care of by a super friendly stuff. I told her what happen and she walked over and got the same ones as i asked her.she also explain to me how to care for the Wunder Under Pant for the future so we walked back to and made the exchange with ease. Today I was accused by the manager of this Lululemon location of producing a fraudulent receipt to return clothes that I bought on the Lululemon website. He refused to allow the return, cited a "company policy" that you can't return over x number of items but refused to tell me what that number was, and suggested that I produced fake email receipts as well as a fake paper receipt. Afterwards, when I went to the location on Newbury to do the return I had no issues. Unrelated, but I will also add that I watched him help another customer evade tax law by putting the tax on a gift card. I know this all sounds ridiculous because it was and it is entirely the truth. read more

Nothing makes a person more appreciated than walking into an establishment after a few months and more than half the store remembers and greets you by name. I frequent 2 locations in Boston and one location in Santa Monica as I build my Lulu arsenal, but no store, including any other apparel I frequent, measures up to that feeling of absolute hospitality that one would typically expect at a 5-star resort in Bali, which you'll find at the Prudential location. At most retail stores, you either have a bunch of teenagers working who can't be bothered to pay attention to anything but themselves, or a seasoned retail lifer who complain about the corns on their feet from a lifetime of running around for customers. It seems like this Lululemon has found the sweet spot in the middle with staff who actually like the store they are working at. They are helpful in answering questions and finding solutions while you are shopping there. The only reason why this is a 4 star and not a 5 star rating? Early Bird Get's to Enjoy a Yoga Class. Lululemon, Boston, MA. As I mentioned in last weeks review, lululemon at the Prudential Center is holding weekend classes at their wonderful store. The location itself is pretty exquisite, in the new wing of the Prudential, right across from Legal Seafoods, and right above Gucci. Can it get any better? When I walked in this morning around 9am there were already some people set up with their mats for the Vinyasa yoga class being taught by Sarah Sturges from the Equinox gym. As I walked around it didn't feel like your typical gym or yoga store. There was a map where people had pinned where they were from, a lovely filtered water fountain for the customers to enjoy and an extremely comfortable leather chair for those who needed to take a little break. The walls were adorned with manueqins modeling the different work out pants which were organized in an extremely neat manner down below. There was even a big flip book on the wall of nearby yoga studios, restaurants promoting healthy eating as well as some snapshots of celebrities practicing a healthy lifestyle. You could also learn a little bit more about the founders of lululemon and the people working at the Prudential store. There were so many great clothes that I would love to own that I was glad that I had not brought any money with me because the cozy sweat pants for after ski lounging were really calling my name. As the store filled up with over 30 early birds ready for the Vinyasa yoga class Sarah explained that while going though the movements we should focus on one thing that we'd like to attain once we leave the class. It did not need to be something with a goal attached to it, just something we can work towards. As the class began I found myself wondering if yoga was really for me. I couldn't detach myself from my thoughts about several trips I would be taking in the next few weeks, all of the work I had to get done and on it went...I found myself just watching a woman next to me, as I have never been to a yoga class before, and went through the movements. As the time ticked away I did catch myself not really thinking about anything, which is really rather pleasant. We did several vinyasas and as the class came to an end I was still unsure of whether this really is for me... I walked to my car which was parked in front of the Lenox Hotel and found myself really at peace. People were walking through Boston, enjoying some brunch and perhaps one of our last warm weekends. Yoga may not be something I do on a regular basis but I do think that it would certainly calm anyone after a stressful day or allow you to start your day on a more positive note. I am happy I stopped in though, because there ARE differences from east coast to west coast. The Boston store had many more options for cold weather, and I was happy to find a long-sleeved shirt that I hadn't seen in any California stores. I will say that the one BIG difference between the Boston store and the California stores was the attitude. I felt MUCH more welcome in this store than in any store in CA. Despite the fact that I am a supremely active person, I don't look like an athlete and would not be considered "thin". So i always feel as though I am getting a bit of the yoga-snob treatment in California stores by the vast majority of employees. Pancakes used to be my main motivation for finishing a race, but as the Boston Marathon approaches, the incentives for motivation get more high-stakes. I've heard so much about Lululemon clothing's durability, yoga functionality, and unparalleled ability to make one's ass look good that I made it an incentive reward for beating my personal record for 10 mile races. One Lululemon outfit is worth about ten pancake meals (including coffee, oj, bacon, and eggs), so I somewhat jokingly told myself that I would get such an outfit if I broke 1:33:39 in the 2009 Jones Realty 10 Miler in Amherst, MA on February 22. The 1:33:39 had occurred in 2005 on a much flatter course in comparatively temperate D.C. weather. Hilly Massachusetts terrain + iced-over dirt roads + mid-race freezing rain did not seem like they'd add up to a brightly colored formfitting luon top and asstacular yoga pants. As I passed the mile 9 marker and saw that I was at 1:23:00, I decided to book it up the final hills to the finish because *any* dry clothing seemed as delicious as pancakes. As I charged over the finish line at 1:32:03, I proudly exclaimed to the race volunteers that I was "going to get a Lululemon outfit!" . In spite of my rabid Googling of all Lululemon outfits, I neglected to look at the sizing chart before going to the store. I usually wear a size 4, so I took an assortment of size 4 tops and pants into the fitting room with me. I have the same fantasy whenever I walk into Lululemon. I imagine I am one of those women who doesn't have to work and dresses in really cute work-out wear every day, spending time at yoga and the gym and running and biking. Not cheesy Juicy-Couture gear that you can't actually work out in, but real stuff that makes you look adorable and sporty. That would be pure bliss for me. I love the clothes so much that I truly wish I could get away with wearing them all the time. But the reality is, I am a part-time athlete with a full-time cubicle job. I like to pretend though. Anyway, on Saturday I went in to buy a new outfit. Each year, for 4 years now, my husband (well, he was my boyfriend when this tradition began) buys me a Triathlon outfit. The one rule he has is that it has to be a bright or unique color, so that he can find me in the sea of women on Tri day (most everyone wears black). In the past we've gone to the Nike store, REI and Patagonia but this year it was Lululemon (and will be every year from now on)! I got a killer dark purple bra top and matching shorts. Plus, a running tee that is made of the softest material I have ever felt. Apparently, it all has silver "anti-stink" in it but I like to think that even though I sweat, I don't stink. The best part is the girl cashing me out asked if I'd be part of a running focus group they're having and also gave me 15% off the running top. Their clothes are not cheap but I don't mind that. Your yoga pants cost more than I care to acknowledge spending on exercise gear. It's totally expensive, but you look good. The sizing system is odd, so you won't wear your usual size here. They go by 2 = XXS, 4 = XS, 6 = S, 8 = M, 10 = L, 12 = XL. The pants do make your rear look delectable, so if you can only buy one thing, I'd suggest pants unless you're Jessica Biel, in which case you can go buy any old pair of cheap leggings because your ass is that awesome. The salespeople in this store are either oddly aggressive or completely ignore you, but I'm fine with that. It's usually pretty crowded in here, but maybe that's because I can't go on weekdays during business hours. But then again, maybe a lot of attractive yoga moms bring their strollers in at those times, so it might also be crowded then as well? The 3 stars is for this store location itself (I give the clothes/brand 4 stars), as they are usually out of my size or incorrectly tell me an item was not made in my size when it actually was. read more

The BEST workout gear, and cutest and innovative styles out there. Beware however, their sizes do run a bit small. They're a Canadian company, so their sizes are more European. I'm usually a size small up top, and have to go up a size at Lulu's. The girls who work there are super friendly and very helpful and are honest about how things fit on your body. If you ask them how you look in something, they will give it to you straight, but not in a bad way. They'll help you to find the right style and size for you and the BEST BEST BEST part of the store, is that they carry their yoga pants in size LONG!!! Translation - the inseam is a 35 or 36 if I'm not mistaken. They also offer free hemming so that if you aren't a super model and your legs aren't' a mile long, you can still get your pants the perfect length. read more

For this much money, I had high expectations for the store. I was not disappointed. Not only were the sales associates, mostly female, lovely and gracious but they were all stunning and inspiring. I mean, I know that just buying lulu gear will not get me a tiny tight rear end. But it's something to aspire to. I love the complimentary hemming of pants. Nothing worse than a great pair of pants you have to keep rolling and pulling up throughout class, that's annoying. I will certainly be spending more money than I should here in the future. Hi, my name is Erica, and I'm a Lululemon addict. Admitting you have a problem is the first step, right? I swear I can't walk into a Lulu store without buying at least three items. The Pru location is great - the staff was extremely helpful. As I looked around, they prepared a dressing room for me, and when I told them I was into kickboxing, they recommended a great pair of pants that still look and fit amazingly after 100+ washes. I was going to give it 4 stars because it's pricey, but you certainly get what you pay for. I would gladly pay the extra money for their gear because I know it is super comfortable and durable. Several people have also commented that these clothes seem to be more flattering and fit my body better than my old gym clothes! Two notes: they offer free alterations (and quick, too - I am short, so this is a must for me). Before I started wearing their clothes, I thought people were insane to pay so much for workout clothes, but after trying my first pair of Lululemon crops--I was in LOVE! Their clothes make yoga and working out so much more fun--I no longer have tons of sweat building up on my back in a pool of grossness. They're sweat-wicking and so unbelievably comfortable. Pricey, yes (tops for $52? pants at$50-100?), but for something of great quality that will last you a few years, I can justify it and say it's worth it. Never had I walked into a lululemon store, though I knew about the products from friends. But me, need yoga pants? I hardly do yoga. I know, I know. Well, to my surprise, I now want to do yoga 24/7 if it means I can wear lulelemon's yoga pants! Expensive, they are. Man on man, I spent more money on a pair of capri yoga pants than I did on a pair of jeans. BUT! And this is huge... It's so worth it! I am in love with the pants. And I want more. Can I really rationalize $100 for a pair of lounge/yoga/comfy pants? Would you? Well, riddle me this: how can you resist a pair of pants that slide over your thighs like silk? They shape, they support and they feel amazing. I also found a yoga top on final sale. And trust me, there was plenty more I would have liked to pick up while I was there. Service was EXCELLENT. The sales associate explained the store structure, welcomed me for my first-time shopping experience and left me in good hands in the dressing room, where I learned there's free hemming if the pants are too long. Like a candy store . . . but where everything is made out of moisture-wicking fabric instead of sugar. Love this place! If you practice yoga, you know how important it is to be dressed in something comfortable and close-fitting. All the better if it's figure-flattering (on all bodies! really!) and stylish. If you look on the website, you'll see about a half a zillion colors to choose from; unfortunately, the store itself isn't quite that stocked (not just the Boston store, but the one down in Hingham, too.) While the space might be small (it's set up in an office building for now), there is still a really good selection. I mean, there really are only so many variations on black you can get ;-) There's one rack that's packed with yoga tank tops of varying styles and colors, most of which complement the contrasting waistbands on the yoga pants. My only gripe with this place: more color selection, please! Like I mentioned, there's a location in Hingham, too. That one's a full-fledged store. And the selection might be a bit more extensive, but not so much that it's worth an out-of-the-way trek down there. Another store is slated to open in Natick sometime this fall, I believe. Can't wait! Lastly: If you're a yoga or pilates instructor, you can sign up to be a part of their R&D program, which comes with a 15-percent discount on all items you purchase for yourself. The Boston showroom is tiny, but since it's soon to be replaced by a much larger store in the newly built Mandarin Oriental on Boylston, that's ok. The tiny shop is more like a space holder than a permanent store. So yes, the selection at the showroom is limited. But what they do have I love! Given the lifespan of Lulu gear, I don't mind paying a little more. My other yoga pants get pilly and a little see-though after a year of washing and wearing, but my Lulu stuff looks great no matter how many times I wash it. I'm also a big fan of their R&D program. If you're a teacher, you can sign up for their Research and Development team, submit the occassional feedback form, and get 15% off every time you shop. Yes please. read more

AMAZING pants and great work out tops. But their leggings take the cake. They fit perfectly and are a girls best friend in the slimming department. They're customer service is awesome too--got a pair of their grove pants for my birthday and were just a little bit short (I'm in that grey area where normal pants look like I'm prepping for a flood, but the tall variety just look plain sloppy) Their sales associate suggested I try the tall's and get they hemmed (it's complimentary!!!), and they are PERFECT! Great clothes, way overpriced, but you look fab and they wear well for the exercise they are made for. I made the mistake of running (marathon training) in yoga capris and wore them out but have never had that issue with my lulu running jacket or running tights. The staff at this store are always very sweet and helpful and they do give a discount for runner's signed up for Boston races. The sale rack is definitely worth a trip (that's usually where I buys things from) and I have heard that their website has decent priced items on the "oops we made too much" section. All in all the their gear is very pricey but it does hold up well over time and looks great on you. They usually have neat little pockets sewed in for keys and ipods as well as finger sleeves on their jackets. read more

Why 4 stars and not 5? Let's face it, Lulu is not cheap...so forking over almost $100 for yoga pants seems frivilious in this economy - but, I can say, they are the best pants I own. I was worried they wouldn't keep their shape, or wear out quickly - but I've used them frequently and they wash well and can also be worn a couple times without washing (as long as you don't get them too sweaty, ew!). These aren't just work out pants - nor should they be with a $90 price tag. I wear them around town - running errands, relaxing at home..etc. My boyfriend always complements me when I wear them - they have been known to be flattering for a lot of women on the 'behind.' I feel sexy when I wear them and they are so comfortable - I often sleep in them! Overall, if you want a durable pair of work out pants...and you work out often and would get other use out of them, they are worth the investment. Also, I have purchased other items from Lulu - including a water bottle, head bands, and a hoodie. I love the hoodie - and would definitely run in it in the spring weather - however, I often wear it with jeans and it hold its form well and looks really cute. The head bands are so so...nothing special there really...I find the thinner headbands (with the two straps) don't stay on, too loose. The water bottle is cute...but it chipped easily for $25! The pants are the way to go - I like the Groove, Sneaker Pants. I need a tall, I'm 5'6'' so the regular length is too short but the talls are a bit long. It takes a few days for hemming, which is frustrating - I am one of those people who 'wants it now' when I buy it, especially after paying $90! They often mention 'we offer the service for free' - personally, given the price of the pants, I'd expect that! I certainly wouldn't be happy to pay for hemming! read more

I bought my first clothing from Lululemon in November 2005 - from a tiny little showroom in NYC (because they didn't have full stores in NYC or Boston yet). I still have the top and pants, and both are still in great condition, even after almost 5 years of use. Flashforward to today, when most yoga practitioners (and gym-goers for that matter) own at least one Lululemon item, and where Lululemon not only has full stores nearby, but builds a community around them. Their clothing is not cheap, but it lasts. The saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind - I'd rather pay more for high quality merchandise than less for stuff I'm going to have to replace often. The Lululemon Store at the Prudential is comfortable and inviting. The associates who work there are incredibly nice and helpful - they really do provide a great shopping experience. I am someone who absolutely HATES shopping, yet I do look forward to visits to their store. I also really like that they send out product update emails with what new product has come in and in what colors/sizes they have it - this helps me efficiently plan my shopping trips. Lululemon has definitely evolved in the time since I first purchased their products - but some things are still the same. A lot of their clothing runs small (probably because most of their clothes are really tight). The groove pants are the most flattering item of clothing you will ever own. Those pants probably do more for my seat than an hour of gluteal exercises! The one thing I would have to say I do not like about Lululemon is that they phase out their clothing VERY quickly - and different shipments of the same item of clothing may fit differently because they are constantly changing things. If you find a top you like, buy it in your size in every color they have because the next time you go, it might be gone forever (oh, Spark Tank, we hardly knew you). I was just in the store today and purchased the new "Awareness" tank - I love the more loose-fitting options for tops and wish they made more of them. The store offers complimentary classes each week with the city's best teachers, and you'll often see Lululemon associates at classes around the city (they travel in packs!) I grabbed some items and brought them to the dressing room. There were 3 sales people folding clothes at the island in the dressing room area. I came out to ask them about the fit of the $88 leggings I had on and they shook their heads and said "those are way too big" and went right back to folding. No offer to grab a smaller size, no suggestions, nothing. So I gathered my things and left the dressing room, and within seconds my dressing room was given to someone else (fine, I didn't ask them to hold it). I came back and tried a smaller size and asked them their opinion once again. This time I got a side eye from one and "it's too big, I told you." Really? I'm sorry I'm not the expert here. Ended up being a really uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience for me. At this price point I'd expect a higher level of service. read more

I absolutely love this brand. The developers are totally in tune with the needs of women, in fact, they even have chaulk boards in the store for feedback and suggestions. The not so deep V sports bra is the most comfortable sports bra I've ever worn. The prices are pretty steep, but if you're lucky to catch a sale, you can get a great bargain. If you need a good gym back, check out their selection. They really think about what a woman needs to stay organized in her bag, very thoughtful. I've had nothing but positive experiences with this store as well as its employees. Yes, the clothing is absurdly expensive, but yet I still keep coming back for more. I have not yet found any other store that has running clothing that is as comfortable, well-fitted and with as many pockets and pouches! I've never experienced a rude employee - in fact, more often than not I end up chatting about what race I'm running next and local yoga classes I've taken. So yes, it is very expensive, but in this case I definitely think that you get what you pay for - high quality and excellent customer service. read more

The quality of the products here is very nice but the price will probably always be out of my budget-range - despite the fact that I'm a yoga freak and have been practicing for about 3 years. Great store, great location! They have a plentiful selection of tops, bottoms, and outerwear for any yogi (or fitness enthusiast, in general). I love the quality of their apparel; however, it is extremely expensive. I guess the cost has to do with the 5 year guarantee. If their items go on sale, it's a final sale. The sales associates were nice and helpful...so much so I left with items I didn't think I needed. Bring your credit card, you'll need it. read more

the clothes last sooo long and it doesn't matter how many times I wash them they still look new. They have different styles for every body type, and colors too. the The Boston store is good, but if you wear smaller sizes there are less options, especially for tops. I was treated very well and got great suggestions on what to wear. read more
