I hate to give a small business a low star count, but my experience here was not the greatest. I grabbed takeout that my boss ordered for us while we were doing prep work. The pickup was easy and the woman who helped me get my food was very nice and efficient. Parking was easy too with their large parking lot in the plaza. I ordered traditional chicken low mein, wonton soup, and gyoza. The lo mein was a really big portion which I love. The soup came in a nice container and didn't spill. The gyoza were packaged in a very small container but they were easy enough to eat. The food was the biggest problem that my boss and I had with the establishment. While it was hot and ready to eat, it unfortunately didn't taste like much else than the styrofoam packing that it came in. The lo mein had very little flavor. I will say it was cooked well and the noodles weren't overcooked. The wonton soup was nothing to go on about, and the wontons were a bit slimy. The best part was the gyoza, but again nothing exceptional with that dish. Maybe ordering in-house provides better food. read more

I have had Lulu's Rice and Noodles on my list places to try for a while now. My intern and I decided to get some takeout for a co-working session. I was pretty disappointed as soon as I opened the bag. The smell coming out was not pleasant. I ordered a chicken and noodle dish and crab Rangoon. My intern ordered wonton soup, gyoza, and lo mein. All of the dishes were truly barely edible. My chicken dish was swimming in water and tasted expired. It also had a chemical or plastic flavor I couldn't place. The crab Rangoon was not crab Rangoon at all. It was a dessert style cream cheese deep-fried, and rolled in some sort of sweet flour that kind of tasted like powdered sugar. I would be willing to try other dishes from this restaurant, but won't be going out of my way to do so. A positive is that the online ordering was really easy to use and worked well. Our food was also ready on time. Parking is easy as there is a lot for the plaza. read more

I ordered Pad Thai with beef. I got teriyaki Raman covered in cabbage bean sprouts and parsley. Parsley isn't pictured because I threw it away before attempting to eat this trash. So disappointed. Definitely not Pad Thai but it does taste like vinegar and Mexican food combined. Will not be back. read more

I wish I could give you the kind of heartfelt, positive review I would have written for Lulu's s few years ago when my elderly Mom and I would go there for lunch [less often] than she would have liked. Unfortunately, when my sister and I met at Lulu's last week for a lunch fueled by shared nostalgia, the sparkle was gone. I understand the restaurant is under different ownership than when Mom and I would sit and talk our way through the daily special, and I give the new owners props for turning this cute little order-at-the-counter place into a "real" restaurant with table service and an energetic, attentive waiter, but my unusual order of hot-and-sour soup lacked punch and my sister's order (I forget what it was called) looked like a bowl of creamy white liquid brightened with a few flecks of green. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items, or maybe our memories have blurred the taste of Lulu's food, but neither of us said anything at all about our food while we were eating it..which, in retrospect, is unusual. Maybe it wasn't the food at all, but that our Mom wasn't there to share it either us. Regardless, the current owners deserve your business, and you deserve to make your own call on whether or not to eat at Lulu's again. read more

I really wanted to love this place but it just didn't hit the spot. Food was mediocre at best. My friend couldn't even finish her cashew chicken/shrimp. I opted for general tsos and it was alright. Nothing to come back for. It was overall pretty bland. The sauce lacked the sweetness and spice you often get from general Tsos. Maybe it was an off day. I'd stop in here again if I am over that way for lunch. But, I won't go out of my way for it. Also, the rice was hard. I have never had bad rice at a oriental restaurant. read more

Stopped by this place twice. Food was mediocre. Server was mediocre. The second time, after we ordered, the prices seemed quite a bit higher than before. My father didn't tip because he didnt like the server or the food. Guy chased after us outside yelling at him "WHY NO TIP!? LuLu's is a good kitschy Chinese place. It's located in a strip mall in Springdale. This place doesn't look like anything impressive. It's better than it looks, so give it a chance. The food usually comes out fast. It has a pretty strange location, which is maybe why lots of people get delivery. It's in a strip mall with several questionable looking restaurants. The place has a good amount of inside seating. It seems though much of the business is carryout. The place gets packed at lunch so you may want to call to place your order. I had the Bean Curd With Vegetables. This was about $7 for the lunch portion If you can get past it bring in a strip mall you should go. It's better than a typical strip mall Chinese restaurant. The first time I went to this place was a few weeks back, during ordering it felt like the lady at the counter was a little rude, but gave her the benefit of the doubt. Today went back to have dinner with my wife and daughter, my daughter is under 2 and whenever we eat out, we try to be considerate and clean up after us as the baby can create a mess. When the server came up to take our order, we started to ask her question about the food and portion size. Our server said she doesn't understand English. So my wife went up to the counter to order. Again the lady, at the counter didn't greet her, even though I noticed there were other customers who came in and she greeted them cordially. I felt she was treating us differently. The food came, we ordered, three soups, one Tom yum and two hot and sour soup, the hot and sour soup was not heated up properly and the ingredients inside were room temperature. We didn't say anything or give it back. We also ordered a shrimp fried rice and sweet and sour shrimp. The sweet and sour shrimp was just breaded shrimp you find at a grocery store fried and mixed with sweet sauce and two pieces of bell pepper and pineapple, it tasted bad. The shrimp frump rice was somewhat edible but again the rice wasn't fully cooked. We didn't complain just ate and when the server gave us the bill for $40.05, my wife paid it and left no tip due to the bad quality of food. The server picked up the signed bill and immediately said something in a different language to the lady at the counter. As this was happening I was cleaning up the table with a napkin to gather the food crumbs on the table. We were the only people dining in today at the time this was happening. There were no other customers in the restaurant. The lady from the counter came down to our table told us we have to tip the server, my wife said the service and food isn't good the server was not able to take our order and explain us the food. The lady was very rude, raised her voice and shouted at us that we have to pay tip when we are dining at their restaurant. I at this point said what if we don't pay any tip, she said we have to clean the table. I just was just in shock!!! At this point I took out my camera and started recording and the lady immediately toned down. I repeated what she said to us and she didn't say anything and at one point she just went back to the counter. I told her that I was going to complain to the BBB about her behavior. After this I didn't finish cleaning the table and left. This was just a horrible experience, reading other comments about people of color having similar experience I am quite certain this lady acts with malice and with discriminatory attitude towards people of color. I believe in tipping when the service and food is good, it is not a right but you earn your tip. I wanted to upload the video but seems like doesn't have an option. Been coming to LULU's for over 20 years. Management MUST have changed. The quality of the food has really declined over the last 5 years or longer. Using canned mushrooms in a hot and sour soup is just gross. Cut into several pieces of general tsos chicken...only to find no chicken, and crab Rangoon completely undercooked and doughy. This will be our last visit. They've cut corners so much and the result is they are now just another mediocre strip mall Chinese joint with crap food. Just sad. read more

I only eat a few things here. People working there are attentive and nice. Egg roll comes out hot and tasty. (Love having them two at a time) Cantonese noodle is small fried noodle with stir fried vegetable and gravy on top. They are fresh and hot. Love the texture of hardness of the noodle. It's good atmosphere. Easy to go in. I do not try other dishes since I found my sweet spot, so I don't have much to say on the others. read more

I'm never sure what I'm going to find when I go to a restaurant labeled as Chinese. Usually, I find that they have really bad Americanized Chinese food. I've seen some enthusiasm for this restaurant, so I decided to try it. Since the location marker on the map was on the north side of Kemper Road, I needed to do some extra driving--it's in the same strip mall as Cord Camera. I walked inside, didn't know the routine, but I was going to walk to the counter to order. I was asked "for here or to go?" and when I answered "for here", I was suggested to "have a seat". There is no sign to seat yourself. That same gravely-voiced woman brought me a menu. I flipped it over, thinking that it was in Asian order. Oops! This took me to the noodles page. I saw a couple of items that looked good: Tom Yum Mee and Singapore (Mee). I went through the rest of the menu but didn't see anything particularly memorable. I ended up ordering iced tea and the Singapore noodles. Another dear lady delivered the noodles and asked if I wanted chopsticks. (I almost always use chopsticks--even for American food at home.) I was surprised that the food was ready so quickly. They didn't have that many customers inside the store but it seemed as though they just pulled it out of a pot. $8.50 seemed a huge price but the portion of food was even more huge. I only ate about 30% of it and brought the rest home. Iced tea was $1.99 but that included refills. The little plastic root beer mug wasn't exactly adult size, though, and there was plenty of ice. The tea was good, though. I expected more flavour from the Singapore mee. It had curry and chicken and prawns/shrimp and scallions, but it wasn't bursting with flavour. I bet they didn't add MSG, thankfully, but it needed something extra. Still, I'll return to try something else, such as the Tom Yum mee, to see if it's more like what I'm expecting. read more

Lulu's is failing, and failing fast. New owners know nothing about running a restaurant. That's obvious. Customer service really, really sucks. I mean really sucks. Really, really, really sucks. Wasn't like this a year ago. Waiter was a jerk and lacked both social skills and communication skills. He should be in the back washing dishes, not dealing with the public. He told us that it's a $10 minimum per person to dine in now, and that it wasn't fair otherwise. What, dude? You're lucky people are coming in at all. From the looks of other reviews in recent months, it's not looking good. At this rate, I'll be surprised if they're still afloat a year from now. That's the last time I spend money there. When I first moved to Cincinnati from Louisville, KY I discovered Lulu's. In 1995 Lulu's was the place to go for a variety of noodle dishes and Asian food. I am sad to say my disappointment is hard to contain. My visit today was for a good bowl of noodles - Pho to be exact - when I asked the server about some of the traditional garnishes that come along with Pho, he told me that would be an additional charge. What I got was essentially a watered down version of Pho that had a sprig of Cilantro and several small, tough pieces of beef. The noodles were slightly undercooked - I didn't say anything to the server since a language barrier clearly existed. Gee poor management and customer service I could tell. To the owner or manger at least have the decency to say it in an apologetic manner and give alternative option carry out rather than turning away potential customer For future service , revise your signage by notifying customer that dine in is up to 8pm and carry out after. read more

Wish we would have tried this place sooner! The atmosphere inside is comparable to a diner/sandwich shop with 90's pop music playing. Overall it's very inviting and the staff are extremely polite. When selecting a dish, our waiter was helpful and suggested options based on our rice/noodle preference. We ordered 3 appetizers (Crab Rangoon, Tom Kai Kai & Tom Yum) and two appetizers (Braised Lo Mein & Shrimp Pad Thai). Everything was wonderful but their soup was killer! read more

I really like Lulu's. They have an interesting mix of dishes from various countries, but don't be mistaken. This is a Chinese restaurant. I won't tell you not to order the pho, or the ramen, or the pad Thai. However, if you want totally authentic versions of those dishes, go to a restaurant owned by a family from those countries. Having said that, all of their ingredients are fresh, and the meals are delicious. The restaurant itself is nothing special. It's got a decent amount of seating, and it's clean, so don't judge it by the decor, I personally don't care about that at all. Sometimes we eat in, other times we get carryout. Went for dinner on a weeknight & they were fairly busy..always a good sign. I ordered the Szechwan beef which had numerous vegetables...all fresh & steamed just right. My entree had a chili pepper next to it on the menu but wasn't the slightest bit spicy. My friend ordered the Tom Kai Mee, a vegetarian noodle bowl cooked in coconut milk. When we walked in, the 5% charge for credit cards sign I was willing to accept. I get it. We stood there for awhile because a waitress and hostess were "counting" out their tips. If you do that it needs 2 b in back, or off the clock in my opinion! also, there is not a listed price- on any item, anywhere in their menu, EVER!. When the first question aou tof the hostesses's mouth were, "do you have cash?" (made the whole situation feel sketchy. Food tasted ok I guess. Nothing I would recommend, EVER. I got the szechuan chix lunch special... it was the most bland and NOT spicy thing I have ever had! It was like a "chinese" frozen dinner. I added a "hot n sour" soup also. The soup was white to start. That is not an issue for me but tasting like they poured a cup of salt in my 2 cups of soup is an issue.
