I visited Saigon with a friend, previous times I've done carry out and this was my first time dining in. There is limited seating however great windows to allow in natural light. The servers were quick with taking order and the food delivery was quick. They offer bubble tea, cold and hot dishes. I usually get the chicken pho but without chicken...with chicken broth so not vegetarian. I always ask for extra onion and egg noodles. So glad Yelp led me here for lunch with a coworker! My hotel was nearby and soup sounded like the perfect choice. We arrived around 11:30, beating the crowd. I chose the beef pho with brisket and meatballs. The broth was amazingly flavorful. I also loved the sides of sprouts and various sauces or chili paste was available to add but I didn't want to cover up the broth. I also ordered an iced coffee. The flavor was good but the cup was only filled up 3/4 and that was with ice. The value didn't match the price. Fantastic service and our meal was delivered to the table quickly. Maybe I picked a very, very bad day, but I was not at all pleased. I arrived about 11:10 AM and the open sign was not lit...I approached the door though and they were open. My first impression was an overall lack of cleanliness. There was debris on the floor, a squirt bottle of cleaner and some type of bowl sitting alone atop a table where customers would sit, a very sloppy and unappetizing staff area in full view (which included pitchers of water just sitting there), and a cart of dirty dishes also in full view. Mind this was immediately after opening, not at the end of a crazy busy day. Since I was doing take out I let this pass, but even the counter area just felt.... grungy. To be fair, there was an additional dining area on the other side of the staff area where some people were seated - maybe if you are dining in they usher you there and it is in better condition. But the first impression was not a good one. The options for filling in the banh mi are very limited. I went with the pork and ordered two of these to go, along with an order of spring rolls. I paid, sat and waited. The bag was brought to me and I headed home. I noticed at home one of the two wrapped sandwiches had "pork" written on the wrapper but the other was blank. The meat inside (which was skimpy) was not the same on both sandwiches. I think the second one was chicken. They were not super flavorful and when it's hard to tell what the meat is, I get a little nervous. The spring rolls were good but on the smaller side. The menu said $7 for the banh mi but they charged $8. I didn't bother to argue since I'm not coming back. I recommend a short drive to Vietnamese Noodles & Sandwiches on Princeton-Glendale Road, five minutes away and so much better. read more

Our group of 6 got lunch here and the location is easy to find, park, and looks nice. The whole restaurant is modern complete with metal bowls, black decor, and a plant and "translation" wall. I got the Bun Bo Hue and the flavor was sweeter than normal but still very good. The dish was a satisfying amount and the meet was great quality. It sucked to pay $3 more for the rare steak which I am used to being part of the meal. Staff were polite, friendly, and made good recommendation and we were never rushed to leave while we chatted. First, the location is super convenient for folks who are traveling to Dayton (about 2-3 minutes from I-75 just north of the intersection with Cincinnati's beltway aka I-275). Second, the chicken pho soup was delicious with a clean aftertaste. Third, the interior was filled with light (from windows on both sides) with relaxed piano music in the background. Saigon is such a cool name. Of course you can't fit "Ho Chi Minh City" on a sign, but didn't want to bring that up with the owners because who knows the history there? I would describe the ambiance as part "carry out" and part "seated place." There's one person who waits on everyone, but once you place your order- you don't really need constant waiter service. You have sauces, napkins, utensils all at your table. I ordered the veggie egg rolls and vegetarian Banh Mi sandwich. I can tell you that they were hot! The spring roll nearly burnt the roof of my mouth. Tasty, but wowsa they were hot. The Banh Mi didn't seem huge, but it was very filling. I liked the tofu they used along with the veggies. The baguette was really good. Soft but also crispy, somehow. I think it was 4/5 for me, because it didn't stand out from the other Banh Mi sandwiches I've had. I would say that the price was really decent. It was $7 for the sandwich and $6 for the egg rolls. One piece of advice is to have cash on hand, because they tack on a 3.5% service charge if paying by credit card. Like some old school pizza place that's hiding money from the IRS. 8/10 would recommend. You won't be disappointed if needing go-to Vietnamese food. read more

If I could rate this restaurant a 10 I would! Not only was every dish visually pleasing but ABOVE DELICIOUS! The food was sooo good I wish I could come here daily. For appetizers we had Shrimp and grilled pork spring rolls with a yummy sauce. Then the fried crispy wontons were so light but tasty with a vinegar sauce. My husband and I both got the Nam Vang soup. It's a seafood udon with pork that needed nothing added. It was a solid stand alone dish which is rare. My husband has actually been to Vietnam and this food really took him back to that great experience. My daughter ordered Vietnamese beef curry which came with udon noodles and bread. The curry was silky smooth, so good it left nothing to be desired. My son isn't big on protein and they even had a no protein pho option which he throughly enjoyed! There are many options of drinks as well. We enjoyed a mango tea with boba, a lychee tea, a Thai tea with boba and an Iced Vietnamese coffee. The service was above par! The special short rib spicy pho was full of chunks of tough, fatty and gristle laden meat with zero flavor. I confirmed it was served with thick noodles yet was presented with thin noodles. Worst of all the special was explained as 'the same price as other pho dishes'. At checkout the price was $27 vs. $18. This dish wasn't even worth $5. Sad. Got carry out from Saigon Noodle bar last week. It was good. We had the Chicken Pho and the Beef. They were both very good. I liked how they provided a lot of the ingredients in a separate tray so you could mix it together at home. We also had an order of fried rice and a noodle dish both with chicken. They were just ok, I was surprised they said it would take 30 minutes. When I got there to pick it up there was not one customer in the whole restaurant. Condiments included shreaded lettuce, japlenos, and bean sprouts. I requested some cilantro but forgot to ask for some basil. It was warm and helped fight the cold weather. Starting this review by diving right into the service. It was some of the best I have had in a long, long time. The staff helped me decide what to order, pointed out some special Vietnamese decor around the restaurant, and brought out my food so fast. They checked on me countless times and brought me a pitcher of water. I ordered one of their specials-- a bowl of udon soup with pork, crab, quail eggs, and onions. It was HUGE and came out hot, but not scalding. The presentation was beautiful-- a big metal bowl and a plate of optional toppings like bean sprouts, jalapenos, and green onions. I was a little underwhelmed with the flavor of the soup. It could've used more seasoning. I added siracha and some of the seasoning on the table. It helped. It tasted best when I took it home and added soy sauce. However, the udon noodles were great and the pork was cooked perfectly!
