I had the chance to stop in for dinner. I mentioned that I was gluten free so they helped me select the right sauces so I wouldn't have any gluten issues. You build your own bowl so you just have to avoid noodles and everything else is veggies and meat. They made sure the cooktop was clean and had me go prior to others in my party to ensure I was good. This place is truly legit. Stopped in as we had some time to kill awaiting a sporting event. I wasn't sure what to expect. We were greeted by the friendly waiter and he went over the dining process. You pick your vegetables then proteins at a salad bar and you put on your bowl. Once you're done loading up your choices, a cook takes your bowl and it's cooked on a flat skillet. There aren't any negatives just things that are good n things that are great. Great is the portion size of appetizers the portions are for enough for four. The service was also great, we were first timers so they explained the menu and made our sauce for us. Food....ok here's the good.....not great part. To me the spicy sauce wasn't spicy, it was good sauce but just didn't deliver the kick I was looking for.however everything else was very good, note if you go here load up on veggies for your stir fry, they are cooked with a perfect level of crunch and pair well with the sauce. The appetizers were also good, but weren't better than any place I've been to multiple times before so that's why they were good but not great. The ambiance is pretty standard Asian sit down restaurant, but don't let the for sell sign at entrance fool you....this place is very much open. Many years ago we used to love a Mongolian BBQ restaurant on Chester Road in Tri-County (Cincinnati). Then they were gone. While in Cincinnati today we discovered it has been reopened and it was fabulous! Clean and courteous and a wonderful overall return. This is the original Mongolian with the food bar where you fill your bowl with veggies, noodles, and then the freeze dried meats of choice. Cover it with your favorite sauce mix, then turn it over to the guys at the round grills. They use the bamboo mallets and circle around the grill cooking your food. So happy to see this place open, we will be returning here many times more when in the Cincinnati area. Hurray!!! read more

Waitresses might not all speak English. Food Soups: a waste. The hot and sour soup was vile and practically inedible. The egg drop made Campbell's look gourmet. Vegetables: not all fresh. Some of the pea pods has browns spots... loved they had bean sprouts though! They are a fav. :) Meat: weird frozen roll ups of beef and chicken take up lots of space in your bowl, so adjust your veggie portions accordingly! Loved they had shrimp and kani kama. Drinks: all the most responsible prices in the area! The flavor just wasn't there of the food, it was almost like eating nothing. But, it's awesome how customizable it is, especially for those with dietary needs. Beware, you will get other's food mixed in during the cooking process, so let them know if you have an allergy. Was over this way on a Sunday afternoon, and my wife found this gem. Family owned, but so good! The couple that runs it are so friendly, and took the time to explain to us how they operate. With your bowl that you pay for, you get a bowl of soup and rice with your meal. Selection on the buffet was very good - shrimp, crab, chicken, pork, and beef options, and tons of fresh veggies to choose from. And multiple sauces you can add to your bowl. There's not a lot of restaurants where the greeting leaves a lasting impression on you. But at Da-Han, we were greeted warmly with the biggest smile as soon as we walked in, and were promptly seated with an explanation of the menu. We stopped by around 3 PM for a late lunch. There were maybe one or two other diners, but not unexpected for this time of day. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, plenty of seating with booths and tables lining the walls. The "buffet" station and large grills along the back. We packed our bowls high with an assortment of raw veggies and frozen meat. The ingredients looked fresh and clean. Pro tip is to get your meats/veggies first so you can pile on the noodles at the end, you'll be able to fit more! There is a multitude of sauces you can choose from to douse your creation in (soy sauce, ginger sauce, garlic oil, pineapple juice, etc). Our waitress thankfully stepped in to help dress our bowls. The food tasted pretty good. It was fun getting to see your food cooked on a massive grill in front of you. The egg drop soup was pretty standard, well seasoned and easy to drink. Our Mongolian grill meats/veggies were well seasoned and grilled appropriately. The only qualm I had was that the meat turned out a bit chewy and the flavor can become single noted. Very unassuming from the outside, Da Han is a delicious Mongolian bbq place! When you enter you are seated and asked what you'd like. The primary option comes with 1 bowl, a soup and a rice. I got the hot and sour soup, a favorite - and it was delicious. I also tried their egg drop soup which was equally delicious. For rice I had fried rice, although you can get white or brown as well. You simply take your bowl to the bar and los it with tons of noodles, protein, and veggies and top with a few scoops of your sauces of choice. Then you take it to the cooking area where they cook it in front of you on a big stove. Make sure to pile your bowl high because it shrinks down significantly. Yum! Ate here for lunch today. Have been here 8 or 10 times. It has alwys been a pleasant experience. I was warmly greeted and service was friendly and attentive. The lunch hibachi is 4 dollars less than dinner, but both are very reasonably priced. And the price includes soup and rice. You have 9 sauces at the end after you fill your bowl. The only one with heat is the hot oil. Get some of the solids off the bottom if you like a lot of spice and heat, or get some of the sliced jalapenos when you put your bowl together. This is the only true Mongolian place still left in Cincy that doesn't charge you by weight. I will be returning here on a regular basis. read more

If you have never tried this style of Asian cuisine, don't be intimidated period You get seated in order what type of Eye she want? Fried rice or steam dries and what soup I chose hot and sour soup. Then they give you the bowl that you go fill to have cooked, Some places the protein is the first in the station. Here, it's at the end. Personally, I like a lot of sprouts in mine. And the meat here is exceptional. Very thin and lean tinder. Don't be afraid to push the food down in your bowl, so you can get more in wink wink. At the end, there are the sauces they recommend you put one scoop of each. I skipped the hot sauce since they use that on the grill and I don't care for spicy But I put one extra scoop of the garlic and the ginger. I like a little extra sauce since I eat it with the rice. The hot sour soup was a bit more vinegary. Then what we typically get. But I really liked it and I liked that it wasn't so thick. I preferred the thinner soup consistency. It wasn't A lot of pepper or very spicy Really liked it. Since I fill my bowl pretty full Pushing it down some I always have an extra meal for leftovers. Even without leftovers its a deal. At bd Mongolian its sooooo loud its torturous and cant enjoy the dining experience.... its opposite here. The use wood vs steel at the grill, so its quiet and you can easily have a conversation. While we were there my husband was texting his co workers to clue them in this place is back. They also had frequented this restaurant years ago and loved it. Da Han is a Mongolian BBQ operating in exactly the same location and with the same setup as the sadly missed Ta Han BBQ that closed years ago. (look for changes again - there is a "for sale" sign in front of the building as of Aug. 25.) The experience is identical to the original place. We went in the mid afternoon. One take out customer was leaving but otherwise we were the only ones in the place, and one older lady who was probably the owner or manager waited on us. Soups (hot sour and egg drop) were in small cups and had good flavor but were both lukewarm when served. The "buffet line" of vegetables that you fill your bowl with was decent, although some vegetables looked a little tired like they'd been in the pan most of the day. (since everything is going onto a griddle I had no concern about veggies) You have a wide choice of greens, some asian stuff like bok choy and water chestnuts, noodles, etc... all preceding the star of the show, the meats. What this place does to cope with irregular traffic is place the trays of frozen thinly sliced meats out for serving when we got up to the serving lines, which presumably goes back in the freezer when we are done, so you don't have warm meats sitting out all day. I served myself beef and pork. (My wife once got food poisoning at a mongolian BBQ place that didn't keep the meats cold.) I "scrunched" my meats by pushing the meats down with my palm in the bowl in order to fill my bowl as completely as possible (they didn't mind) The grilling isn't real showy but the cook and the manager both grilled our meals to speed things up. Rice portion is small and is served in an individual cup. The resulting meal is delicious with tons of texture and flavors. IMO the beef is edible but a bit chewy - the pork has better texture. Flavors were outstanding. Overall, a great option with a few quirks such as the unique self service. read more

Normally you see Mongolian BBQ on the West Coast a lot but I absolutely love this place, we started going last year on our visit to Cincinnati and go 3 or 4 times each trip. If you are a frequent visitor to Mongolian BBQ like I am, you are pretty impressed with this restaurant. The veggies look fresh, and they actually take the meats in and out of the freezer when customers come in. I know that doesn't seem like much, but most places just leave them out all day. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained, and the staff is very attentive checking in on us every few minutes to refill drinks and ask us if we need anything else. The food is great, because let's be honest if it sucks it's your own fault since you create the sauce. The griddle guys do a great job of cooking everything properly and nothing gets lost from the cooking to the transfer to the new bowl. Fried rice was good and the soup was decent. Nothing to write home about, but all in all the combination is a great value. It's one of my all time favorite comfort meals. It's very sad to see the "for sale" and there's a chance that we may not be able to eat it on our next trip to Ohio, but I wish more people would eat here cause it's so much better to the dozen other places I have visited. It feels like this restaurant needs a social media campaign if some sort because it's just to good to not slip away. This restaurant came as a suggestion from a coworker, so a few of us on the team stopped by and ate lunch. Service was great. Restaurant clean, inviting, and offered plenty of seating. Food was hot, freshly cooked and good. Kinda a different dining experience in that you walk down a buffet line and place your items of choice in a bowl only to have someone at the end of the line walk up and discuss sauce choices. A girl I'd never seen before served us, and I brought 2 guest with me that hadn't been there before, She neglected to tell them to bring their food to the cooks at the grills and he was very embarrassed when he took his directly to the table to eat. Then she neglected to bring the soup and the rice and we had to remind her she had yet to bring the soup and rice. Then while in deep conversation she'd come to interrupt to ask us how we were enjoying the meal. I don't know when they stopped offering shrimp in the selection, but it was missed. Me and the Wifey often look for new places to try and we haven't had Mongolian BBQ in a while. We are from Kentucky and we drove up to Cincinnati to visit family and landed here. We were pleasantly surprised! It looked a little small, but this restaurant was very clean and well maintained. We were greeted and taken care of by a helpful staff. We were originally concerned about the the one bowl price, but depending how you set up your dish, you can easily have enough for 2nds. I will say I was confused by the sauces at the end, as some customers self served but a team member ended up taking my bowl and added all the ingredients at the end besides the hot oil. I didn't enjoy the egg drop soup that came with the meal, but that has an acquired taste that others may enjoy. Would recommend! read more
