I saw Jake's trucks installing trees next door and asked if he could give me an estimate before he left the neighborhood. Jake was kind enough to come right over and discuss what needed to be done in a professional manner. He provided an estimate on the spot which he emailed to me directly in a matter of moments and we settled on a date. His crew was able to come earlier than our arranged date which was great! He and his crew got right down to business and removed a dead palm, trimmed overgrown hedges down to manageable heights and cleaned up a canary island date palm in record time. This saved up MANY HOURS of labor which we usually do ourselves, but many MORE HOURS of cutting, bagging and removing the mountains of debris. They were here and done in about three hours. Yesterday a large section of my Norfolk Island pine tree blew down and crashed on my garage roof. This morning I called a few tree service companies and left messages. I have yet to hear back from those companies, but when I called Jake he answered the phone. He didn't have a crew working today but offered to come out with his truck to see what he could do or at least give an estimate. He initially said he would be out in 30 min. About 20 min. later he called to say he was running late and it would be about another 15 min. He then showed up right when he said. This kind of prompt service is unheard of in most industries in south Florida. He found that he didn't have the equipment with him to handle my particular problem but quoted me a price and called another company, on the spot, who both honored the very reasonable price and had the equipment. Jake is a self-made small- business owner and arborist who did an excellent job for a very fair price. I got three other on-site estimates, and he was both the most knowledgeable and the least expensive. He has a very professional business with a state-of-the-art truck that is a cherry-picker and storage bin with a chipper attached. He brought two assistants but gets up in the trees himself. He trimmed my two gigantic oaks to hurricane-proof them and to save one from a lot of top-heavy stress. He removed a dead palm tree and trimmed a smaller tree as well. Lumberjack Jake came out to give me an estimate within 48 hours and got the work done within the week. I will call him again and I highly recommend his company. Jake helped me make the decision not to cut down a stressed oak but to try to rehabilitate it with careful trimming to allow it to survive a while longer. I had a dead palm tree that needed removal. He gave me an estimate on the spot which I considered more than fair. Jake and his team did an amazing job removing a dangerous Black Olive tree from our back yard. We recently bought our house and thought it just needed to be trimmed, however upon inspection Jake told us our tree could pose a serious threat in a storm. He gave us quotes for both trimming and removal. We went with the removal, however we wanted to replace the tree and had no clue what our options were. Several trees in our yard were in serious need of trimming (+/- 15 yrs since last trimming). We called South Florida Tree Service (Lumberjack Jake's) because the owner is an arborist and has the necessary licenses and experience to do a professional job and we wanted an inspection and estimate. He arrived on time, inspected the trees and provided a written proposal immediately via e-mail. We scheduled the trimming and the crew arrived on the scheduled time and date. The crew completed the work in a professional manner within 3 hrs of commencement. All refuse generated was run through the chipper and collected in his truck and our front yard and adjacent street were racked and blown leaving the site neat and clean. I needed trees trimmed prior to hurricane season and forgot until June. I had reached out on some apps and really got no response, a week or so later got a response from Jake and we set up an estimate which he was on time and had office to call to give me time updates. He did the estimates and we set the date, he was a few hours behind due to the previous job but they called early enough to inform me. I called Jake from a Google search. He came out the same day to give me an estimate. Scheduled my job for the next day. I needed three super tall coconut palms trimmed, and coconuts removed. I also asked him about my Live Oak in the front yard. Jake climbed up into the tree to get a close look at the issues. This guy is the real deal. I had 40ft tall royal palms 2 feet away from a pool and 2 feet away on the other side from my fence, in a back yard that is about 20 feet wide. Minimal space to work with. These guys absolutely nailed it. Grinded the stumps perfectly ready to install some smaller palms. They are well lead by Jake and work well as a team. Jake and his wife are straight shooters no question. I highly recommend this company for any tree project you have, big or small. My front tree needed trimming badly and I had been looking for an affordable company. Luckily Lumberjack Jake's was next door at my neighbors house doing work. I inquired about my tree and they gave me the lowest price compared to several other companies out there. I asked when they could come back and do it and he said he could do it after they were done with the neighbors!!! My wife and I recently purchased our first home.
