I really wanted to love this place, but it didn't quite hit all the marks for myself and my friends. Really the ambiance is what you're paying for - they had a DJ playing, the aesthetic of the restaurant is beautiful, and you have a view of the city. The view would probably be better during the day; we went in the evening & the city was pretty dark. The waiting service was a bit slow even going on a Tuesday, but the food came at a reasonable time. The restaurant was still decently full on a Tuesday though. The food and drinks were good but nothing out of the ordinary. We were hoping there'd be more variety in food. We mainly got sushi, cauliflower wings, karage, and wagyu. The wagyu only had about 10 or the tiniest slices I've ever seen (like as thin a your finger nail almost); usually with a small amount and high price you'd expect the taste to wow you but it unfortunately felt the price point wasn't worth it.

I'd recommend this as a spot to grab a drink and maybe a snack before a nearby dinner reservation. It's probably also best to come during the day if you really want to enjoy the view, although rain definitely made the night time view worse! The espresso martini I had was phenomenal, our server/bartender was lovely, and the decor was so cute on the side we sat on (currently called the "Chalet in the Clouds" for the festive season). The food menu is a bit lacking to consider having dinner there but the snacks we had were good!

Well, where do I start. If you want an amazing birds eye view of Amsterdam, great service (Patricia) and amazing food. You have to visit this place. The OOste Rdok pale ale was so good, tasted like orange juice. Made for them about 20 minutes from their location. Had the truffle fries and they were perfect. All was amazing but what made our experience perfect was Patricia. Huge asset to this restaurant. Beautiful personality and very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend this place. luminair. Thank you for a great experience Patricia. Xoxox the Moreno's from California U.S.

The bar above Amsterdam. We went into the Doubletree Hotel and took the elevator up to 11. We were able to get a window seat & looked out over Amsterdam Although the cocktail menu looked interesting, we enjoyed Gluegglich, an orange wine from Austria & my husband a Spanish Verdejo wine. There were light bites, soups, salads & desserts offered as well. Our snacks were good too!

Service was extremely slow. Bartenders rarely looked your way. We wanted food but gave up and left. Wouldn't go back.

He said water, so I assumed it was it was tinted from the lighting. When I took a sip it was a flavored water. I asked if it was gluten-free and he was very rude in his response. Basically was like um yea it just has spices in it. Spices may not be gluten free and could be of concern for a celiac. I asked him if any drinks were gluten free and he said all but 2. I wasn't confident that the drinks would be made separately from the non- gluten drinks so I opted not to get one. My friend got the bees knees and said it was really tasty. The server did come back and switch my water to regular at the end but he should have been upfront with what he gave to prevent any exposure to peoples allergies.

The space is really cool, with some neat lit-up signs behind the bar and antique paintings on the ceiling. I tried a few cocktails and they were all tasty. These included the Flying Dutchmen -- their signature cocktail -- and the Umami Margarita. I was a bit hesitant about the Dutchmen because it was with gin and orange, but I liked it a lot. The margarita was unusual with some mushroom dust on the rim. Our server was very friendly and helpful.

Thanks to Iago from NJoy, we heard about this soeakeasy and decided to check it out. Reservations…read morerecommended. Carlota who answered the doorbell, was able to accommodate us at the bar (our preferred seating anyway). She took our coats, placed them in the coat closet up front and led us inside. Once seated, we were given gorgeous ruby red complimentary aperitif (hibiscus, honey, ginger). The drink menu is interesting, based on the concept of growing up, with more basic tastes to start and more mature complex tastes later on in life. (The drinks are more complex the later in the menu). I ordered the Awake at Last, and my husband ordered the Ruby Stone. Mine was sweet and coffee flavored and his was more tart and sour cherry flavored. When I tried his drink, I immediately felt nostalgic because it reminded me of umeboshi (pickled plum in Japanese food), so we ended up trading drinks. Both were great for supping. Sitting at the bar was fun, watching the bartender at his work. He was silent, focused, skilled, professional. So glad we checked it out! I didn't post pictures of the entrance or inside because I'll leave it to you to discover! (The fun of a speakeasy).
