(Which I do love BTW) This store has one of the most intuitive layouts I've ever encountered in a bookstore, and the selection, wow! After making all of my selections, I spoke to the owner for a bit. He seems to have a passion for finding everything interesting and unique. What a nice guy! I tried to keep it reasonable and only bought four books, but I already have plans to go back, and I reached out to friends who are in the area to see if there's anything they need! It seems more critical now than ever to have as many books as you can so that we don't lose history.

We visited this very cute coffee shop / book store twice over Memorial Day weekend. Yummy iced and…read morehot coffee + tea in unique compostable to go cups. Do not come expecting a fast to-go breakfast/coffee. In total took us about 45 minutes to get our coffee + food, but the staff were very upfront about the wait-- there a was a sign about the wait in the line, and they let us know that the food would likely be delayed. Many little seating areas, books available to read, free wifi for an hour. Staff very charming and took their time to make sure our order was aligned with what we wanted. The vegan hot mess sandwich was phenomenal!! Accommodated for both vegan diet and nut allergy. Worth the wait for us! I hope to come back next time.

This had to be the weirdest thrift store experience I have ever had. We were drawn to the shop by…read moregoogle and the zen name & signs out front. At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!

They even have a few boxes of 25 cent boxes. I found quite a few comics to complete a few series I started collecting years ago. What a great deals. Robert and Tim were super nice. One of the comics I need was not in stock except for a pack of 4 and I didn't need the other 3. Tim was willing to break up the package so I could buy just the one. They were so nice and accommodating. I will definitely be visiting again next time I am in Tahoe.
