Great place my husband and I both went, he got a spa pedicure ($38) and I got the signature spa pedicure ($48) we both went in with gel already on he got clear put on again but regular this time and I got another gel color, all together it was over $130 Around $136 which is weird because based off the price list it either should've been cheaper or more than that depending what they charged his polish change as (from gel to regular). They apparently don't have paraffin wax even though it's on their hand out. Overall I'd return but I'd probably ask the price upfront so I don't walk away trying to figure out how they came up with the cost. read more

My gf and I went to this salon for a girls day. Pedi and mani. We waited an hour for them to come do our pedi. One went 100mph and the other acted like she had never done nails before. She had to take my gel polish off multiple times to redo it. Meanwhile my friend is being directed to sit in a chair across the room for her nails. We paid for the most expensive pedi but never got a glass of wine that was supposed to come with it. When it's my turn to get my nails done the man was so rude and hateful. He made my fingernails look like midget fingers. All of my nails are different lengths. There are large clumps of acrylic at the cuticle making it look like something needs to be popped and bled. He was nasty. He did a horrible job. So my total for a shit toe job and a shit nail job was 150. The two nail technicians stood around waiting for me to sign the receipt. They both broke their necks to see if I tipped them then walked away. This place is fn disgusting. Their quality of work is shit. The way they treat you is shit. Then they want tipped. If it weren't for the fact that they act like they can't understand me, I'd go back in and make them redo this Shit of a job. Oh and they like to keep the lights real Low. And now I know why. Trash. Absolutely LOVE this place!! I've been looking for a new regular spot since I've moved back home to the Dayton area && I positive that i won't be going anywhere else but Luminous 2!! It's very clean inside && the staff is very friendly. Tina is excellent && did an amazing job when i came to get my pink & white ombré fill in. I asked her to make my nails super squared (i work with my hand && the edges always get rounded down due to my work) she did exactly what i wanted && didn't rush or hurry. Every time i have been here they have always been detail oriented && take their time, asking many times during the service to make sure they are doing it the way you're wanting it. So I've been coming to Luminous for around a year now. I've got to say that yesterday I went in to get my nails dipped for my son's wedding this weekend. I had a guy named Calvin T do my nails. It appeared that he hated me from the get go! No greeting, the only time he was halfway decent to me was when it was time for his tip! I'm a stage IV cancer girl and I told him to please be gentle with my skin while sanding my nails down. My chemo makes my skin very sensitive and it tears easily. He not only didn't listen, it appeared that this made him become even more rough with my fingers. I've got four different fingers that he nicked and now they're sore as hell. I've got trouble with flexibility with my hands/fingers and Calvin kept getting very irritated that I wasn't able to bend them the way he wanted. He would literally pull my hands and basically discipline me like I was a child. Please! Please! Please! Whoever is in charge of this establishment please train your people in basic kindness and treating your clients with a little respect. We go to get a little pampering and pay big money to get this service. No one should leave your establishment feeling upset, humiliated, and like dog shit after they leave! I am that person, when I go for my fill-in and pedicure, I really just want to relax and decompress. This place was great for that. The problem I have is that I have been going here for around 6 months. Every time i get a fill-in or a new set, with-in 2-4 days I have to go back because the gel polish that isn't supposed to peal does in fact peal. And each time they want to change me for the correction. I didn't cause it and I'm not paying for it. I have a very busy lifestyle and it has just gotten very tiresome to deal with this so often. I was in the shop this afternoon. I was getting a basic manicure. When the technician was painting my nails, she appeared to be distracted to the point that she smudged three of my nails. I had seen a young lady and her daughter work to the door. I thought they had left. I then saw them standing at the end of the aisle where I was sitting and she was crying. She said, "Just take it off." Several of the technicians were standing around her. Then a police officer came in and he was standing next to the lady who was crying. The lady looked up and caught my eye. I asked her if she was alright and she said no and started crying again. I got up, walked to her and put my arm around her. She finally calmed down and this is what she told me. She said she call the shop to inquire about the cost of two services. One was 90.00; the second was 45.00. She came in, had the services, and when the technician finished she told the lady the cost was 195.00. The young lady told them that she was quoted a cost of 135.00. She said she'd pay 135.00; not 195.00. The technician called the police. The technicians admitted they had told her 135.00 when she called. The officer told the young lady if she didn't pay the 195.00 he would arrest her for theft. The young lady then told them to remove the acrylics. Meanwhile, another police officer came in. The two officers stood waiting for the technicians to remove the acrylics. The young lady's significant other came in. He was quiet and was going to pay, but the young lady told him not to since they were removing acrylics. The young lady was not loud or boisterous. She was quiet and never loud or disrespectful. She didn't make noise when she was crying. I have never seen or heard anything so ludicrous in my life. Even after the technicians admitted they told her 135.00 on the telephone. Left us sitting in the pedi chairs w no water until busy tech was available even though we asked to turn them on. Charged me $85 total (60 for pedi mani combo 15 for gel takeoff 10 for new gel! ) Will never go back. The space is pretty & clean but the ppl are so unfriendly. read more

I would give this place minus stars if possible. I just recently had my nails done here and had been a customer for the past year. I just had my nails done 7 days ago and one completely came off. I went in yesterday to have it repaired and I was told if it had been longer than three days I would be charged $5.00. They could clearly see my nails were freshly done and their was no damage to my nail other than it was missing. I pay good money at this expensive salon plus a tip and they can't even fix a nail that is their fault for not applying properly. No thanks. Might be only $5.00 but if they do this kind of work I can see why they need it and I will pay to have completely finished somewhere my business is appreciated and who stands behind their work! RED FLAG ALERT!!!! Horrible unprofessional scam artists. Dropped off daughter there with one mail missing they said they had to remove them all and put on new which is not true, the person that did her nails quoted one price and they charged her way more than that, more than just tax amount. They aren't clean there and they don't use the proper methods of removal or fills. They drill way to much and damage the nail bed. She was over charged by about $35 which is not acceptable at all! This nail salon is more than fresh and new, its beautiful and classy AF. I got a gel mani and my husband got a signature pedi. We both felt the services rendered were very detailed and thorough. Everyone was friendly. They even have a wine list (though by looking at the list of services, free wine may only come with certain things; not certain about this). I just left this salon crying after the manager berated and yelled at me in front of the whole salon. I had my nails done 7 days ago before vacation. They were chipping and falling off the day I had my nails done. I asked for a refund or for my nails to be redone. I did not remember the color that I used. They were always on time and very nice. I don't know what has changed but today is my last day ever going there. This is the third time I have scheduled an appointment and upon arrival i have been asked to wait more than 15 minutes. The first 2 times I figured hey, this is unusual, I'll go with it this time...This afternoon, 15 minutes after my scheduled time, Mindy was still in the middle of someone's pedicure. I asked to speak with the manager Tony and he just about told me that as a customer I should understand and just wait or go some where else. Absolutely shocked. I asked him if that is what he meant and he said yes and walked away from me. I left and called to get a corporate telephone number and the third, very young and obviously inexperienced, receptionist in 6 months, tells me to "find it on Google or something" and hangs up on me. I hate saying this and I hate that I was treated that way as a customer; don't go there, they have gone to shit and only care about money.
