The narrow dining room features a back wend with banquette seating, an intriguing plate collection and a garden type view.

Can't explain how I overlooked this restaurant around the corner from me for 25 years-I'm a creature of habit short of exploration time. What a find at long last! Best place to experience Italy's cuisine with imaginative flourishes each night. The specials throughout the week provide any taste preference with the perfect solution. the staff is always welcoming snd accommodating. Vitello Tonato, calves liver and carmelized onions, shaved artichoke and arugula salad; fish so fresh you'll feel like you're adjoining Fulton Street Market. The space, while not large, offers enough reasonably well placed tables for privacy. Try my favorite caviatelli pasta w/ sausage and broccoli rabe. Don't miss desert either- Italian cheesecake perfect!

Enjoyed an absolutely divine feast at Luna Rossa! Followed the Yelp reviews to this highly-rated Italian restaurant near where we are staying on the Upper East Side. Service was warm and outstanding. Interior cozy and welcoming. And the food! My husband had the handmade tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms - it was out of this world, tender and flavorful. I had the pette di pollo. The chicken breast was flattened, sauteed in butter and parmesan, and absolutely to die for. My kids ended up eating most of it! Meanwhile I feasted on the veggies - broccoli rabe with garlic and artichokes, so tasty. The kids loved their spaghetti with tomato and basil sauce. We loved it!

Cute place white table cloth Italian on an upper east side side street. Great service. Call me old school, but I love it when a place brings out bread, olive oil and water right away. The food was tasty, reasonably priced with solid portions. The main courses outshined the anti pastas. The lobster spaghetti was delicious and my fiancé said the Cornished hen was excellent.

Tonight's dinner was perfect. From the moment we sat down to the end even though they closed the kitchen before we could order dessert, everything else was delicious. We had wine and Ceasar salad to start with and octopus and lobster pasta for main entrees which was on the chefs special menu! The place was beautiful and service was great! I do only wish they were playing some Italian music in the background or something loud enough. Overall I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of chefs' specials and homemade fresh pasta!

I came with a friend who lives on the same block. She wanted the home made lemon pepper tagliatelle with ragu. I couldn't decide so i ordered the endive and shaved fennel salad with pear and walnuts as well as the grilled octopus salad. Both were divine! I also had the mussels and clams in a light tomato broth which was scrumptious. We finished with a gluten free chocolate cake with espresso ice cream which was rich and not too sweet. I can definitely make my way through the menu here. And next time add Prosecco. They have an extensive wine list!

Fig Gnocchi (Gnocchi di Patate ai Fichi)

Took a chance on this place with 3 friends on a Friday night. We ordered: - Ravioli Mezzaluna alla Crema Tartufata - 2 orders of Gnocchi di Patate ai Fichi - Tagliatelle alla Bolognese - Bread for the table (free, thick slices with olives on the side, pit intact) Now, I am not usually a fan of Italian food. Luna Rossa completely blew me away! I personally tried the Tagliatelle and the Gnocchi, but my friend said that the Ravioli was incredible. The Tagliatelle was amazing and so flavorful, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The Fig Gnocchi was delicately flavored, perfectly balanced with fruity notes of the fig and truffle balsamic & truffle cheese. I've never had gnocchi that tasted so light and cloud-like. It was rich and slightly sweet, and so good! We all argued about whose dish was best. Prices are par for the course when you're looking at Italian food in the UES. Cocktails were strong but not too strong. 4 outdoor dining tables in a tent enclosure, with ample space between tables. There were space heaters and we were all really comfortable. Don't walk, run ;) And order the gnocchi!

Just finished having dinner here after a long day of walking the city. The service was impeccable. So friendly and helpful with wine choices and menu choices. I ordered the fig gnocchi. For dessert I had the tiramisu. Both are outstanding. Nephew ordered the tagliatelle. He practically scraped his plate clean.

We shared Betsy's Mom's Clam Dip, Mushroom Toast, Bitter Greens Salad, Minted Lamb Meatballs, and duck pâté. The meal opened with the clam dip; cool, lush, and briny, with a creamy oceanic richness that coated the palate; followed by a tangy, salty depth that clung to each crunchy bite of bread. The Mushroom Toast followed with deeper savoriness: earthy, almost forest-floor mushrooms, warm and tender, turning silky as they soaked into the bread, while the edges stayed crisp and toasted, adding contrast to the woodsy umami and subtle garlic warmth. The Bitter Greens Salad provided a bright, palate-cleansing break that included crisp and peppery greens with a sharp lemony dressing that snapped on the tongue, layered with faint fennel sweetness and the nutty, salty bite of shaved parmesan. The Minted Lamb Meatballs arrived richer and more comforting, tender and juicy with a gentle gamey depth, lifted by fresh mint that cut through the richness, and a cool, tangy tomato-yogurt sauce that added creaminess and brightness in equal measure. We finished with pâté--silky, dense, and deeply savory, with a faint iron-rich intensity and buttery smoothness, especially when spread on bread with sharp, briny pickles that added crunch and acidity. Each dish felt intentional and well-balanced for sharing, with varied textures and temperatures that built naturally across the table. I'd happily return to explore more of the menu.

The menu is fairly on the basic side - mainly drinks and pastries and there is some sandwiches. We decided to get the hot chocolate with whip cream (the whip cream is very needed). It was very rich, thick and delicious and not "too sweet." The whip cream really makes it more creamy and it does not really add to the sweetness which was good. We also got a side of Salame e Formaggio which I would recommend passing on because the cheese was kind of hard and not that great. The salami was good and honestly I'm not a fan of olives but my friend who liked it enjoyed them. Overall - a cute place to stop by for a hot chocolate and maybe a pastry!

We got a torta caprese (flourless chocolate cake), a sfogliatella, a hot chocolate, and a machiatto. The torta caprese was okay. The sfogliatella, which is supposed to be light and crisp, was clearly stale and chewy, although they warmed it up which was a helpful touch. The hot chocolate was reviewed on Instagram as being super rich and decadent, but it was made from a mix that smelled oddly similar to Swiss Miss. the machiatto was also quite watery. Come here for the vibes, but not for the food.

Though they didn't serve the sprite-infused red wines I enjoyed in Spain, they did serve white sangrias, which were light, sweet, and very enjoyable. The toasted bread with tomatoes was bright and summery. The grilled asparagus was cooked wonderfully al dente, with a char that added a nice smoky flavor against the clean taste of the drizzled olive oil. The beef skewers were well seasoned and fatty. While the food was Spanish, the prices certainly were not! It was a tad pricey. There wasn't anything below $13 for their small bites. I chose the shrimp in garlic sauce (oil) that I sopped up with the accompanied bread, the dates wrapped in bacon (they do their own twist by filling it with honey ricotta stuffing and finishing it with a red wine reduction), I also went with cod fish croquettes (the perfect crispness on the outside and a delectable creamy texture of fish inside), I can never pass up the patatas bravas, so, I got those too.
