The appetizer fresh mozzarella was incredible. The pasta was out of this world. The drinks... I had a non alcoholic one but added a shot of rum.. incredible Service was outstanding. Really an amazing place in every way. Would take my partner, wife, parents and everyone here.

We arrived early for our RSVP @ 5:30 pm...and there were many tables and booths open (possibly up to 5 booths open, in fact!). Well, this girl behind the hostess stand didn't even bother to read the reservations details, and set us off to these high-top tables. I told the hostess that we requested a booth. She then took us back up front to that girl behind the stand...who then seemingly purposefully put us in their back porch area (?!?) with these big, rowdy groups and many children...right by the doorway, and not a booth either (but a half booth)! It was possibly the worst seating in the entire restaurant. After this second time, I went back up front again, and told the 2 hostesses that I saw many booths in the restaurant, and I didn't understand the difficulty-resistance!! Frankly, I was livid. Truly, that girl was just clueless, to say the least! Again, I can't believe that despite plenty of full booths available, she sent us out to their porch area, with this half-booth seating, RIGHT By THE DOORWAY. (I actually mentioned NOT by the doorway in my reservations details!) I truly thought she was deliberately sending us out there in retaliation. BTW, this girl didn't even give us any eye contact...and no proper greetings when we entered the restaurant either. We stood looking at her for a good minute before she even acknowledged us. Her incredibly rude hostessing nearly made us walk out. Absolutely terrible hostess service...the WORST! Once we were finally seated in a booth, we managed to calm down, and things started to take a positive turn. For one, our waitress (forgot her name) was great...cheerful and attentive all throughout. Also, I have to commend the house Manager, who must have noticed the re-seating. He stopped by to check on us and get all the details. I also noticed that this Manager was really on top of things...as he hustled around the restaurant the entire time we were there. I don't think he sat down even once! So it seemed the only incompetent staff member there was their Hostess (not the one that walked us to the table, but the one behind the stand)...definitely not the wait staff, or the Manager. I actually studied their menu beforehand...and loved what they had to offer. As we began to order, we also realized that they gave us the option to choose the type of pasta and the sauce as well. Kudos to that! We decided to share everything, and ordered: Mama's Crabcake, Combo Parmesian (Eggplant plus Chicken Parm, plus Pasta of choice...with a sauce of choice!), and this amazing special of the night, Short Rib Pasta. We ended our meal with their Gelato...and they threw in the Cannoli (as peace offering, I guess?). Well, truly we thought all the dishes, including the desserts, were delish. We even enjoyed their complimentary bread...so good! Portions were huge too...so we managed to doggy bag some leftovers. I also tried their Manhattan Martini...and it was stellar. Very strong...exactly what I needed! Despite the worst possible intro to this restaurant, we ended up thoroughly enjoying the meal...and as mentioned, the rest of the staff made up for the incompetence of one. For that, I'll only deduct a star. It's a shame...because I would have easily dropped 5 stars for the foods and the service by our waitress and the Manager. Maybe next time?

Sat upstairs at the Rea Farms location. the food is very good and plentiful, especially for lunch. Very reasonable prices. Even lunch portions are so generous, that several family members requested take out containers. Ambiance is great for a Saturday date night, love their olive oil with red peppers mixed in to dip your bread. This is not another Italian restaurant in Charlotte run by owners that have zero Italian heritage. You all know the places I am talking about. Even got to try their polenta which I loved as a child growing up in New York. I am 100% of Italian heritage. Eggplant and Chicken dishes are great, very nice wine selection at reasonable prices and good pours. There are other Charlotte restaurants that we used to frequent but stopped going because no matter how much you spent on the food, they cheated you on the wine pours. Very short-sided marketing strategy, We leave 25-30% tip for good service and good wine pours. Don't take this review lightly. I know good Italian food!

You HAVE to get the peppadew peppers and whipped burratta appetizer - I think about it often. We've sat at the bar or at a table, and either is great. I would highly recommend coming back multiple times to try out different seating and food

Review for North Italia…read more has absolutely become one of my staples in Charlotte.** It's located in the heart of South End--a trendy, energetic neighborhood with beautiful outdoor dining--and one of the biggest perks here is easy parking, which, as any Charlotte diner knows, is always a win. Inside, the restaurant is gorgeous. Think large, comfortable booths, warm lighting, fresh flowers, and a lively but polished atmosphere. I always make a reservation through OpenTable--I'm too old to be waiting around to eat, and I might as well rack up some points and perks while I'm at it. One of the things I appreciate most about North Italia is their seasonal menu. It keeps the experience fresh and thoughtful, and you can tell the kitchen is paying attention to ingredients and timing. I usually start with a glass of wine-- a sparkling rosé or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc--something cold, clean, and refreshing. Bubbles are always a good option for me. They serve a delicious focaccia at the table, which I sometimes indulge in, but the dish that truly stands out--the one I still dream about--was a seasonal ravioli with butternut squash and crispy sage. It was beautifully balanced, comforting, and memorable in the best way. Other favorites: * The Caesar salad--perfectly dressed * The arancini and calamari--always solid starters * The pizzas, especially the cacio e pepe * And yes, the desserts are absolutely worth saving room for Brunch here is also a lovely experience. Sitting on the patio, eating alfresco on a sunny Sunday, reminds me so much of what I loved about California--being outdoors, enjoying great food, and taking your time. Thankfully, there's plenty of shade, so it's comfortable even on warm days. They do offer a happy hour. It's not the most extensive in town, but it's perfectly fine for drinks, a pizza, or a charcuterie board with friends after work. What keeps me coming back: * Consistently good service * Clean, beautiful space * Thoughtful seasonal dishes * Easy parking * Reliable quality Yes, it's a bit upscale--but it's approachable, welcoming, and dependable. And when a chef takes the time to create seasonal dishes that appeal to diners with curious palates, that deserves recognition. Bottom line: A polished, reliable favorite in South End that delivers great food, beautiful ambiance, and a consistently enjoyable dining experience.

No server ever greeted us or brought water to the table. We watched the tables around us get cleared and cleaned and the server pick up checks from two other departing parties. I'm patient (used to work in hospitality), but when they brought out a bowl of water for the dog with a couple that was seated after us that was too much!! You served the dog before us?!?!? No thanks.
