Had dinner here on a Friday night prior to attending a local event. Thankfully we were not in a hurry since it took a while to get waited on. We asked to order since we had waited so long for someone to come by the first time. Ordered water which also took more than expected to get delivered to the table. Expected bread however that took another 10 minutes to get sent to the table. Chicken parmigiana and fettuccine Alfredo with pesto and added chicken were the two dishes in our order. The portion size was okay. The flavor was okay. The chicken on the Alfredo seemed to only have little salt and a lot of pepper but still bland. The Alfredo was good, just not great. The chicken parmigiana was okay but not great. I was served two chicken tenders, not breasts so it was a bit chewy. The sauce was fine just not great. I had a side of angel hair pasta. Anyway a decent meal for the location outside of Charlotte. Just not sure it was worth the $14 and almost $20 plate prices. The pizza looked really good. I wish I tried that. Maybe if I am ever in the area again I will try that out.

The service was exceptionally good, especially for a larger group during mid-day for lunch. The soup was amazing but the pizza had a lot of sauce and cheese (even when asked for easy on the cheese) and it made the pizza very soft and floppy so a lot slid off. A lot of pizza places outside of NYC do this they need to get that more sauce and cheese is not better.

Bad pizza, reminded me of Chuck E Cheese pizza. Fries were from a bag. Italian Supreme sub was bad. Slow service. Seriously could be a 1.

Great Italian food, comparable to an upscale Italian place in Uptown but at a very reasonable price, good portions too.

In fact, the kitchen accidentally made an extra order of Stracciatella and instead of letting it go to waste, he brought it out for us to try. It's not something I would have ordered on my own, but it was absolutely delicious, and now it's something I'll order every time I come back! For my entrée, I had the Penne alla Vodka and upgraded to the homemade noodles. The homemade pasta truly set this dish apart from other Italian restaurants I've visited. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The food, service, and hospitality were all exceptional. One thing to note is that the restaurant isn't very large, so I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. This place is absolutely worth it, and I can't wait to return!

The biggest issue was that my vegetarian friend was accidentally served meat, which made her sick. While the staff apologized and offered a complimentary dessert, they never actually came back to take our dessert order. Instead, they brought the complimentary cannoli they normally provide for our other friends birthday and then charged us for it, which felt very strange given the circumstances. Service was inconsistent throughout the meal. Our cocktails were never empty, but our water glasses sat empty for most of the evening without a refill. It was one of those experiences where the attention seemed focused on the wrong things. The food was also not up to the standard I've come to expect. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't as delicious as previous visits. The bread was the standout and absolutely slapped, but the rest of the meal fell short of what I've had here before. We were also seated in my least favorite sunroom room where when you're in the booth you're basically at risk of head-butting the folks behind you. I'm hoping this was just an off night because I've had much better experiences at Little Mama's in the past.

Review for North Italia…read more has absolutely become one of my staples in Charlotte.** It's located in the heart of South End--a trendy, energetic neighborhood with beautiful outdoor dining--and one of the biggest perks here is easy parking, which, as any Charlotte diner knows, is always a win. Inside, the restaurant is gorgeous. Think large, comfortable booths, warm lighting, fresh flowers, and a lively but polished atmosphere. I always make a reservation through OpenTable--I'm too old to be waiting around to eat, and I might as well rack up some points and perks while I'm at it. One of the things I appreciate most about North Italia is their seasonal menu. It keeps the experience fresh and thoughtful, and you can tell the kitchen is paying attention to ingredients and timing. I usually start with a glass of wine-- a sparkling rosé or a crisp Sauvignon Blanc--something cold, clean, and refreshing. Bubbles are always a good option for me. They serve a delicious focaccia at the table, which I sometimes indulge in, but the dish that truly stands out--the one I still dream about--was a seasonal ravioli with butternut squash and crispy sage. It was beautifully balanced, comforting, and memorable in the best way. Other favorites: * The Caesar salad--perfectly dressed * The arancini and calamari--always solid starters * The pizzas, especially the cacio e pepe * And yes, the desserts are absolutely worth saving room for Brunch here is also a lovely experience. Sitting on the patio, eating alfresco on a sunny Sunday, reminds me so much of what I loved about California--being outdoors, enjoying great food, and taking your time. Thankfully, there's plenty of shade, so it's comfortable even on warm days. They do offer a happy hour. It's not the most extensive in town, but it's perfectly fine for drinks, a pizza, or a charcuterie board with friends after work. What keeps me coming back: * Consistently good service * Clean, beautiful space * Thoughtful seasonal dishes * Easy parking * Reliable quality Yes, it's a bit upscale--but it's approachable, welcoming, and dependable. And when a chef takes the time to create seasonal dishes that appeal to diners with curious palates, that deserves recognition. Bottom line: A polished, reliable favorite in South End that delivers great food, beautiful ambiance, and a consistently enjoyable dining experience.

No server ever greeted us or brought water to the table. We watched the tables around us get cleared and cleaned and the server pick up checks from two other departing parties. I'm patient (used to work in hospitality), but when they brought out a bowl of water for the dog with a couple that was seated after us that was too much!! You served the dog before us?!?!? No thanks.

I had dinner here tonight, and I'm still thinking about it hours later. Everything about this place…read more-- from the atmosphere to the service to the food -- was on another level. You can tell immediately that Antonio and his team takes pride in what they do, because every detail feels intentional. The service, "Haleda" definitely one of my all time favorites, was the kind you don't forget: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling forced. It set the tone for the entire night. And the food... unreal. Every dish was balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with skill. You know that moment when you take a bite and just stop talking for a second because your brain needs to process how good it is? That was me, repeatedly. This wasn't just a meal -- it was an experience. I recommend the Egg Plant Parmesan! The ambiance sealed the deal. Comfortable, stylish, and perfect for actually enjoying the people you're with. It's rare to find a place that nails both the vibe and the food, but this one does it effortlessly. Tonight officially raised the bar for what I consider a great restaurant. I'll be back, and I'll be recommending it to everyone I know! Thank you Antonio and Haleda for always an amazing experience and dinner!

Yuck. That's the word that comes to mind. We gave them two chances over the last couple of months,…read moreand I could not have been more unimpressed. The first visit was for brunch -- except there was no brunch. It's advertised as brunch, but the menu was dinner only. Pasta at 11am? We passed and left. So, dinner it was. They market themselves as Italian-inspired cuisine. If this is Italian, my foot is an eggplant. I rarely write harsh reviews, so bear with me while I go into detail. First, the cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned. The older gentleman behind the bar -- who I believe is the owner -- should not be making cocktails. If you're going to charge $20-25 for one, do it right. Invest in a mortar and pestle, skip the premade mix, and don't use bargain whiskey. Smoking the glass doesn't hide premade bitters or cheap bourbon. Second, the bread. No real Italian restaurant would serve this. My family and I genuinely wondered if it came from Aldi or Lidl with a dusting of flour to fake an artisan look. Third, the appetizers. We should have stopped here and gone elsewhere, but we pushed on. The calamari was rubbery, soggy, and greasy. The crostini was fine -- though it's hard to mess that up. Fourth, the entrees. I ordered the ossobuco. One look at the sauce and I knew this wasn't going to be right -- ossobuco shouldn't be sweet, and this was. The meat was okay, but the sauce ruined it. My wife saw my face and started laughing -- until she tasted her own dish. A real Italian restaurant should be able to make a proper tri-color tortellini. This one couldn't. The kids weren't impressed with their pasta either. The staff, though, were good -- no complaints there. Given how cramped the space was, we were genuinely impressed by how well they maneuvered around. In closing: beyond the questionable food, there was an off-putting vibe we might not have noticed if not for the manager's belligerence toward his staff -- we could hear him yelling at them in the back. Odd, considering he spent the whole time sitting at the bar while the owner flirted with one of the waitresses which was the only thing funny about this dinner. Overall, this is one of the rare times I'll say: avoid this place. Questionable food, questionable behavior. Our waiter, at least, was great.
