I went for my first visit during lunch time. There was only 2 other occupied tables in the entire place and I still waited about 10 minutes to be greeted once I was sat at my table. Had a diner vibe inside, the a glass case with deserts and whatnot. The server was very nice, but overall, I waited too long (especially during lunch) for everything- I didn't end up being able to eat much of my food before I had to leave. As for the food, the place recently changed ownership. There was a small middle eastern menu along with the Italian menu. I ended up ordering the lasagna as the waiter said it was popular. The portion was a nice size, however, the flavor left a lot to be desired. Overall, I don't think I will be returning. read more

Went to lunch today at Rossini's. My wife and I shared the Chicken Parmesan sub with fries. The service and the food were excellent and the price was very good for the amount of food. If you want a good chicken parm without paying $24 "like all the other restaurants near Charlotte". This is the place. $16 and change for a large cutlets and spaghetti with a nice sauce. Had dinner here on a Friday night prior to attending a local event. Thankfully we were not in a hurry since it took a while to get waited on. We asked to order since we had waited so long for someone to come by the first time. Ordered water which also took more than expected to get delivered to the table. Expected bread however that took another 10 minutes to get sent to the table. Chicken parmigiana and fettuccine Alfredo with pesto and added chicken were the two dishes in our order. The portion size was okay. The flavor was okay. The chicken on the Alfredo seemed to only have little salt and a lot of pepper but still bland. The Alfredo was good, just not great. The chicken parmigiana was okay but not great. I was served two chicken tenders, not breasts so it was a bit chewy. The sauce was fine just not great. I had a side of angel hair pasta. Anyway a decent meal for the location outside of Charlotte. Just not sure it was worth the $14 and almost $20 plate prices. The pizza looked really good. I wish I tried that. Maybe if I am ever in the area again I will try that out. read more

We had great food , service and love the quiet as everyone enjoys their food. We were seated quickly and our waiter, Zackery, was over to take our drink order right away. Needless to say, I think he lost his taste buds cause this pizza tastes like something you get from chucky cheese. If you're not familiar with them it's like dominoes pizza but worse. The service was exceptionally good, especially for a larger group during mid-day for lunch. The soup was amazing but the pizza had a lot of sauce and cheese (even when asked for easy on the cheese) and it made the pizza very soft and floppy so a lot slid off. A lot of pizza places outside of NYC do this they need to get that more sauce and cheese is not better. read more

My family are all Italians originally from up north so we know Italian food. We usually go to another Italian joint close by to this one but it was Friday night and they were swamped. So on a whim we went here. Friday night around 7:30-8:00 and the place is dead...red flag no.1. Here's the breakdown in a nutshell- the food is so-so, though somewhat bland. The bread for the subs were the best part to put things in perspective. I thought the menu items were a little pricey - $3 for a 12 ounce tea? Any extras, for example, marinara for your Italian sausage sub is an upcharge. Now I never wrote a food review in my life before but I felt compelled to write this as a warning for any future potential patrons, 1. INSPECT YOUR CHECK. There will be two amounts on the bottom, one price for paying cash the other for paying with CC. The CC bill will be more, of course because the CC companies charge the restaurant a percentage for transaction. Used to be, restaurants covered this difference, now most pass it on to the customers, this is another one. 2. COUNT YOUR CHANGE if youre paying cash. I got charged the CC price even though I paid cash. For the record, I will not be back. read more

I have driven past this mom and pop Italian joint dozens of times, but have been too unenthused by the average ratings to drop in. Decided to try it out for dinner tonight and everything was much better than average, starting with the 99.5 sanitation score. The friendly owner, Jimmy, greeted us warmly and seated us. We chatted briefly and discovered that they had been in this location for 15 years. He oozed pride of ownership and it was evident in his restaurant. The dining room is comfortable and roomy. Our waitress was very nice and provided excellent service My House Calzone Supreme was huge. The menu warns you that the large will feed two, but in my opinion, the small Supreme will also do the same for most people. It was loaded with cheese, sausage, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives, red onions and ricotta. The crust was a bit too thick for me but was tasty. The house made sauce was also thicker than most and thankfully, was not overly sweet, as it can sometimes be. Overall, it was a good value at $11.95. We added a side salad for $1.95. It was just okay. My wife opted for the baked ravioli.The pasta itself, although not made in-house, was well prepared. It was smothered in cheese and had just the right amount of sauce. Our total tab was $29. As we were leaving, the chef made it a point to thank us and to give us a cheerful send off. If Yelp allowed such precision, I'd give this happy little joint 3.5 stars, but they do too many things right to round down to a mere 3, so I must give it a 4. read more

Great pizza great service You should go there Traditional Italian restaurant ! To go or eat in house. Great Italian food , pizza and pasta, specials and good for date nights with the wife or with the kids and the whole family. We have 6 people in our family, one pizza could feed all of us and have leftovers. But...! We usually get 3 or 4 different ones because their variety is amazing and all are good. The appetizers and salads are great. You can eat in house or take it to go. We live 30 minutes away and we order and it's ready when we get there. Always excellent service and the owners/ management are super friendly and community minded. And Support the church next door and the sports leagues. Really good family atmosphere. Safe for kiddos and parents. Been going here nearly 20 years now. At least I think so lol I've lost track. I want to say I know it's at the end of the paragraph. This is special place for our family. For all yall 1 star hissy fit conniption pitchers. So entitled because your mama taught everything is Burger King you just think you can just have it your own way because you special little snowflakes. Really it's more like Special Ed. But! People who have large groups or stick and rubber pusher families that don't call ahead to a local small restaurant and act entitled and rude to the business owner who's doing his best to accommodate 30-50-60 people in a place as small as Rossini's needs to understand how much work is involved in feeding an army of customers in one party and one order all out at the same time. I've been looking for a good, local place for pizza since we moved here - finally found one. Rossini's is one of those places we'd driven by forever and vowed to someday try it - and glad we did (and sorry we'd waited). The server suggested the thin crust when I asked about their pizzas - mmmm! Made the pizza perfect, IMO. The dough has a sweetness to it - not too dissimilar to Papa Murphy's thin crust, if you've ever had it - with a tasty sauce and loaded with cheese and toppings. My daughter had a pasta dish and I tried her meatballs. They were sneaky good - first bite was "meh," but as you chewed it, the flavor really came out and was really very good. The dining area is smaller than I expected but we got right in on a Saturday evening. They also have a small patio section for seating. Definitely a place to come back too - and if you live in Indian Trail, that coupon calendar the city sends out every year has $5 coupons in multiple places. read more

I had the side salad with the house Greek dressing. The dressing was okay but the salad was lackluster. Leaves, onions and tomatoes tasted old. Olives would've helped the situation but not enough. I really truly wish I could give this place a worse rating. If there was a zero star rating this place would be the lucky winner! The waiter was kind, prompt and attentive that was just about the only good thing about this place. My fiancé and I ordered mozzarella sticks which are just frozen and fried the chicken and veal parmesan with Alfredo sauce INSTEAD of the marina on BOTH the noodles and meat(not a problem for even Olive Garden) the up charge for that was $5 per plate (okay sure). When our plates came out there was marinara all over the meat, when we brought it to the attention of the waiter he went and spoke to the owner/"chef" JIM ROSSINI who promptly came out to our table with the worst aggression, attitude and unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced in any establishment let alone one where I am a paying customer. When we started trying to explain what we didn't like he said "that's just the way it is here" the food was bland and tasteless and soggy beyond words. Everything tasted like it was frozen which it more than likely was not to mention sitting in grease and the noodles were cold, overcooked and only warm on the bottom because of the warmed plate; it was all around the MOST unappealing and unappetizing "Italian" food we have ever had. If I were this man Jim Rossini I would quite frankly be embarrassed and ashamed to call this Italian cuisine. Such a disgrace. Save yourself and don't EVER go to this place. I have been going to Rossinis since I was a kid. Hands down the best pizza anywhere in Indian trail and union county in my opinion. It has been a while since I've got anything other than take out pizza and garlic bread but from what I can remember the pastas were good too. We have been to this restaurant several times but after last night we will think twice before we go again. The "hostess" was in a mood as soon as we walked in. She asked how many, grabbed a few menus and without so much as a smile walked over to a table and literally threw the menus down on top of the clean plates already on the table. She then walked over to three other employees fussing and pointing at us. Extremely uncomfortable! Our server apologized for the other employee's attitude when we asked what did we do? Our server was very nice but failed to get all drink orders. Just didn't ask one of us and there were just five. It's not like we had a huge party. She consistently brought the wrong refills for our drinks. We never brought the appetizer we ordered. We had to ask multiple times for lemons and other things. Then to top off the night our grandson has thrown up all night. That might be a bug but who knows??? His mom's pizza was inedible. So, all in all a pretty horrible experience!!! Rossini's has been on my radar for a while and it's a pretty solid go-to as far as mom & pop Italian. It's located at the end of a strip mall off of Independence on your way to Monroe (Indian Trail-Fairview Rd & 74). Just hate that its a bit far from Charlotte, but I think it's worth the drive - also if you are in the area, I would think it as a good option for both lunch and dinner. It has a small dining room, but I am sure they do take-out as well. On our last particular visit, the hostess wasn't at her station, so I believe the chef actually showed us to our table and wished us a nice lunch. The waitress/hostess was super friendly and took good care of us. There are daily specials in addition to the menu, but everything I've had here is great, and you definitely get a ton of food. The only thing I haven't tried are their subs, which look fairly good as well. Probably a lot of folks will be looking for "authentic" Italian, but I think they have a good thing going here as far as Italian made with heart. You may not be transported to the boot-shaped country, but you will taste it's flavors with an Indian-Trail twist. read more

I ordered pick up tonight like I've done in several occasions in the past. My wings were burnt so bad they tasted like they were charred. I called and spoke with the manager Jim and he was VERY RUDE. He stated that the black burn came from the seasons they used to marinate them. Even once I told him that they were charred he still over talked me and said that it was seasoning.
