This is THE Sun City thrift store. It's very large with all sorts of cool finds. It's clean, easy to navigate, and always has something neat to take home. Very large thrift store but all of the merchandise looked like the left overs from an estate sale. I felt like looking at a lot deceased old people clothes and relics that were on people's shelves. The first time I went to this store, I loved it. Today was the second time I've been to this store. They closed at 3 today, which I wasn't aware and had came in about 10 minutes earlier. A woman that worked there literally screaming rudely "We are closed". Now I have no problem with someone stating they are closed, I'd want to go home too! The only reason I give two stars is because they do have great vintage pieces. But customer service is horrible. Very rude ladies in the front . I asked if they had specific days that give 50% off furniture. Because the first time I had gone to this store they had 60% off furniture. I live pretty far so I made the trip again. Looking for some specific pieces of furniture. ( Which I did find but a little overpriced ). The two ladies in the front looked at me like I was crazy ! They rudely said NO . The largest thrift store in the area. They have good prices on everything. The furniture selection is quite big and moderately priced. And the clothing goes on sale often enough. Service is what I would expect from a volunteer Christian thrift store. Selection varies everyday, again to be expected in a thrift store. Value is disappointing. I have shopped at this store for over 10 years. Under original managers, everything was priced to sell to lower income people. Now there are high prices for donated items for the poor, with daily discounts to encourage impulse buying and move over-priced inventory. Not very Christian. Plus, I do not see transparency: annual report with list of charities that got our money with amounts, board of directors and officers with their profiles/qualifications, list of paid staff, and contact information for questions or complaints. But, Cristian volunteers are there doing their part to benefit our community churches and do not want to see any negatives. read more

Very well organise, with ever section well catered for, books, bric and brac, man cave, Christmas, Halloween etc. Great prices, take a trolley because you are going to need it. I LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I (college students on a tight budget) are moving into our first apartment and we decided to check out the furniture here. First off, all of the furniture is such great quality, their sales are amazing, and the inventory is huge. We ended up with a very nice couch, coffee table, and dining table with six chairs for $230, which I thought was great. The workers were so quick and willing to help us load up the furniture into the moving truck. We had to remove the legs from the table to fit it into the truck and the man helping us ran to the back, came out with a drill, and took them right off. They were so accommodating and friendly. I will 100% be back here as this is the best experience I've ever had at a thrift store. read more

It takes a lot of effort to separate the wheat from the chaff at this place. When you do find something decent, the prices are very good. In order to find the good stuff I suspect that you either need to be really lucky with your timing or a very persistant visitor. Shopped here today with my girlfriend. The store was very clean, had great prices and is well organized. Everyone was so helpful, curious and friendly. I put a bid on an auction item and we both enjoyed the whole experience. The cashier was fantastic and we made our purchases, effortlessly. Never have I ever been treated so poorly by a thrift store volunteer/employee. I reached out to the company via email and they don't seem to want to respond that there was an issue. I was very clear and kind in my email but honestly I would never shop there. It was clean and well organized but if you are treated like garbage then why spend your money there when there's so many other options! They should implement some sensitivity training there. Don't recommend! People were saying how nice the staff was so we thought we'd check it out. Nope. Left and I was so upset because I understand people have bad days but I didn't deserve to be that woman's punching bag for the day. read more

This is my mom's favorite store and she goes all the time. Everyone knows and loves her there! She was so excited to show it to me, however, when we entered we were shouted at by some very mean older female employee. She shook her finger at me, lectured me about some sign because I was carrying a 6-month old puppy in my arms. She then pointed me in my face and forced me out the door. (I had barely taken 3 steps in.) So maybe the stuff is good... But some employees are rude and mean. Horrible customer service! There are so many other stores, I would suggest going elsewhere instead. read more

I have always preferred to donate my items to this store because the items in the store are well organized with care, unlike some other thrift stores that just throw and scatter the items on a shelf. I live 30 miles from this store and have a nearby Goodwill just a block from my home, but I make the effort to take the drive to donate my items. I also shop in the store while I am there often spending over $100 each time. However, while at my last visit donating items at their designated location in the back of the store building, I was waiting on a donation receipt from a kind lady, a woman walked up to her and asked loudly and scornfully, "why do people park forward." I knew this was an indirect question to me and not to the lady who was helping me. I walked away back to my vehicle but then decided to ask the woman a question, "where are we supposed to park?" she replied with, "you are to pull through not forward", while she flapped her arms back and forth as to the direction she wanted the cars to move. I replied, "I don't see signs or cones directing us to do so." I had simply pulled in alongside the other cars in the same manner as those who arrived before me, as a parking spot. The woman proceeded to say, "dah....you should know just forward", I replied, "you should just be grateful for the donations!" I was so irate that I walked inside the store and found out the woman who was so rude was the store manager. I would assume a store manager to have better managerial skills not to speak rudely to a donating customer. And have better insight to resolve what she perceived to be a vehicle flow problem to come up with a solution to direct the traffic with cones or signs. Part of a managerial role is to resolve a problem does not create one with a person who is donating. Although there appeared to be no problem, people who were making donations were courteous to other drivers and simply just pulled in as a parking lot space. And the lady who initially helped me was very kind. But unfortuenly for the Lutheran cause, I will not be donating there again. read more

I recently had a terrible experience at a thrift store at 99th Ave. and Bell Rd, I would recommend and choose Lutheran Thrift over that place ANY day of the week and twice on Saturday! (They're closed on Sunday ;o) ) They have tons of furniture, appliances, a hardware section, a book section, clothing, you name it! Located in the corner of a small strip mall. This Thrift Store has expanded space and is now a bit bigger with more stuff. Good thrift store prices and the old dears that work there are friendly. There is an additional cashier located in the Xmas section, plus they have kids stuff too! I don't know if there is a restroom (sometimes this is good to know). read more

I have a breathing problem and in lieu of a cloth or paper mask, I wear a plastic face shield. The manager at this store told me I " must wear a cloth or paper mask only". If you check the law, it does show an exception, if you are unable to wear a mask. Even though your store is fairly nice, I will no longer shop where I am unable to breathe. read more

I had been going to this thrift store for a few years. Most of the personnel are very cordial with 1 exception. I have, on numerous occasions, either carried my little chihuahua in my arms, had her in a doggie sling, or in a stroller with no issue. Today i was approached by this belligerent older woman threatening me that she could call the police on me and have me fined for having my dog with me. She started to grill me as to whether my dog was a service animal which I told her no and that I would leave. She then said no but again told me how she could call the police on me if she wanted and that the other stores in the area would call the police and fine me. I told her all the other thrift stores in the area were pet friendly to which she just stood there. What's so funny is the woman obviously has no idea of the law. The fine only comes into play when you try to pass your dog off as a service animal which I did not. While it is their right if they want to be pet friendly, they either need to enforce it all the time or get rid of this nasty 1 woman. I left and will not be returning. Its a big warehouse type store with tons of stuff and junk. If the Lutheran Church feels a tiny animal in a stroller or someone's arms is justification to be threatened well good luck to them. They have nice quality items and the store is clean and organized. However, their prices are way too high for a thrift store. I saw a cute but weathered metal plant stand for $18. A cute metal CD stand for $20. Framed pics 15-20 and up. Definitely were not worth those prices. You can tell their prices are too high simply by the large amount of stock they have. They're not selling enough because of the high prices. There's even a sign on the door that says they're not taking any more donations. The furniture is nice but almost everything costs 100+. They do have half off sales, but that doesn't include anything that says "firm" on the price tag, which includes many items. Didn't buy anything and won't be back. so many signs up NO BATHROOMS, you know they do have bathrooms, and this is SUN CITY, you need to have restrooms that the public can use. You have enough volunteers to check it and make sure it is clean , even if it was unisex. The old location had rest rooms for all the stores but now that they are in this location , they need to have something available for customers to use. read more

I am a disabled senior with a service dog. My dog is a chihuahua and is 5 pounds. I always HOLD her in non food establishments for her safety. She has a "Service Dog Identification" which is above and beyond what the Americans with Disabilities Act Requires of a service animal. Yesterday, I was verbally attacked and told I could not have my service dog in the store. The lady was LOUD, RUDE and arrogant and would not even look at my paperwork. She would not listen to my answers about my dog. My dog was not out of control. She was quiet and she loves people. This bully sales lady stated I was required to have my dogs feet on the floor. She stated the dog was not allowed to touch the furniture. I had been looking to purchase a chair and sat in one. OH MY, my dogs front feet touched the arm of the chair. When this happened you could hear a pin drop through the whole store. Even the other employees were shocked. SHAME ON Lutheran Thrift for the demeaning way they treat the disabled. They need to have their employees educated on the Americans with Disabilities federal requirements concerning both the disabled and their service animals. Thanks for reading. read more
