Man, I tell y'all Scott is AWESOME!! He shouldn't be called a guitar Lutherie, but a guitar MAGICIAN! I've been going to him for like 4 years now, and every time I get my Martin guitar back it's like new again!! No one's perfect, and I think his timeliness may be his only issue if any, but he loves helping people and working on guitars so much that sometimes he make take a hair longer than expected, but it's always worth the cost, work, and wait! In my opinion, Scott Roden, owner of 'The Lutherie Shop', completely ruined my Fender American Deluxe Strat! I took the guitar in a few years ago, to have the factory frets replaced with stainless steel frets. He filed the frets too short, and as a result, the high 'E & low E' strings, pop off the fretboard. He refused to make it right! read more

I have had 3 guitar necks fixed here and the guys are just awesome! Really know what they are doing and make my guitars sing! The price is always right and if I ever have some extra money laying around I want to buy one of the custom guitars that they build. The guitars they create are called BILT GUITARS http://www.biltguitars.com/ You may have seen them on tv played by such guys as Nels Cline of WILCO! Last time I was in the shop, they let me mess with one a bit and my mind was pretty blown! One of those dream purchases! I've taken three of my problem guitars to Scott because of the great work he did on my Tele last year. I can't say enough good things about his work. Now my Strat and Martin play like a dream! Completely incompetent and extremely rude. Zero stars. I took 3 guitars to this guy for repairs, he told me it would take about 18 days, no problem. 3 weeks come and go he never called or emailed me anything so I call him. He acts like I'm bothering him and he doesn't know who I am. He finally figured it out and says one more week. Okay fine...again he never calls so I call him. Same thing happens. Finally after more than 6 weeks I call and go to get my guitars. One of them he never even started. One all he had to do was adjust neck and replace strings. My most expensive guitar had a couple cracks in the top. Not only did he not fix them he made them worse. I would never take anything to this guy ever again. I thought at first he just was not good at talking to people but it's obviously more than that he is intentionally rude to customers and if you call to ask you are bothering him and you get a hatchet job done to your $3000 guitar. Awful! They did a crappy job on my guitar, I wish I had done the work myself instead. Beware of this shop! Maybe the guys who build the bilt guitar do better work but the guy who runs the repair shop is horrible! I would say they deserve zero stars but unfortunately one is the least amount of stars you can give. read more

I took my 40 year old customized strat in for a tune up- replaced some frets, crowned the rest, straightened the neck, set the intonation, etc. This guitar plays like new again. It screams. Very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend their services. read more

Great shop, took my son's strat in for a setup and nut work; nut is perfect, setup is awesome and no buzzing! Not sure what happen with the other reviewer this shop will be getting more of my business for sure! read more
