I was…read moreexcited to find Superior Hand Car Wash as there are not many hand washes in Tampa and I will not go to a machine wash. Today I chatted a bit with the owner, Roland Perez. I learned that this is a family business and has been for over twenty years. Roland's son, Roland JR. also works here doing intake and prepping the cars for the wash bay. The prices are reasonable. The results have been excellent. This is a converted drive through liquor store with only one wash bay. So, on a busy day you will have some waiting to do. Luckily they have plenty of seats in the shade, an air conditioned office, and a soda machine. I care a lot about my car and do not mind waiting for good work. I highly recommend this business. I plan to shedule a hand wax and detail soon and will report back with the results.

A couple small downsides that other car washes provide our glass cleaner, interior dash cleaner, and air fresheners. I got a towel this day, but normally I don't think they're out there. Towels are really nice to have as no auto car wash gets them completely dry. But the wash itself is really good and the vacuum works great. I don't like the paper towels they dispense (2 are offered), they really don't work well and are flimsy. Also numerous times now they are out or the machines dispensing them don't work. I've had issues with getting my car clean as the employees don't automatically pre spray for bugs, heavier dirt. With a black car it should be automatic, everything shows and sticks, lol. Spray people! I shouldn't have to ask or go twice. So I frequently have to make two trips through or leave (got places to be) with a car in less than clean condition, doesn't make me happy. The mat cleaner is so so. I really would prefer the real bottles (filled with window cleaner, etc.) and real towels to dry the missed wet spots or shine up tires. Only thing I'm debating right now is value for my money as I explore my options, which are plenty. Car wash on almost every block.

Before going through the automatic part of the car wash, employees scrub the front of the car & windshield. Then, with the car in neutral, the car moves on a track through the automatic part in a little more than 2 minutes. It's fast and efficient. Afterwards, towels are provided to dry the car. Vacuum hoses are readily available for sucking up the dirt in the car's interior. Spray bottles with window cleaner are also available.
