We love Everlife LVP Flooring. I went with the CYRUS - HAWTHORNE this flooring is by MSI. I would recommend Lutz Tile for your next home project. The show room is off Portland avenue and 512 near the McDonald's. She was kind enough to bring me floor samples to try out. Doing a remodel during the Covid Pandemic was hard enough and she was kind enough to FaceTime me so we could go over the floor choices. So nice to have the one on one when trying to decide what kind of products to get. Go with Lutz Tile!!

TASK: Remove existing backsplash and countertop and install a new backsplash and countertop…read more PROBLEM 1: NEITHER THE DEMOLITION CREW NOR THE INSTALLATION CREW WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPPING THE COUNTERTOPS. Nothing was covered. All contents of the drawers were contaminated by demolition materials. In addition, during the demolition, the underlayment of the countertops was damaged. As stated in the contract, this was not to be addressed by Granite and Marble Specialists (GMS). Once the island countertop was removed, you could see that a heavy layer of glue remained on the underlay. The installers said that that was not their responsibility. They installed the countertop over the uneven underlayment of the residual glue. This meant that there were up to 1/2 inch gaps between the counter and the underlayment, stretching a span of 108.5 inches. Over time, this will lead to instability and breakage of the stone. The installers forged ahead and installed the new countertop independent of the gaps. The installers were adamant that they had installed the island countertop to level. RESULT: We had to remove the new countertop and have the surface sanded to level before having them reinstall the countertop. PROBLEM 2: NEITHER THE DEMOLITION CREW NOR THE INSTALLATION CREW WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPPING THE BLACKSPLASH AFTER DEMOLITION. This meant that it was the homeowner's responsibility to install drywall and to make sure that the backsplash was level. The backsplash was 1.5 inches unlevel from one end of the backsplash to the other. Thus, in addition to the provision of drywall because the existing drywall was damaged during demolition, we had to shim the drywall to ensure the backsplash was level for the backsplash installation. RESULT: We had to go buy wood, cut it to the specific dimensions and install the new underlayment for the backsplash. IN SUM: GMS provided what the contract stated, an installed countertop and backsplash. It was not stated in the contract that it be level or that it be level to the degree that it was level prior to the new installation. The installers showed it to be level because the countertop was 108.5 inches long X 46 inches wide X 3cm deep. So, BEWARE. If this is the type of installation you are looking for, this is the organization for you.

My wife and I went to HD and got a turnkey quote to put a quartz countertop on our island. This was…read morewith a 20% off sale on the square foot price of the quartz. We thought we owed ourselves a second bid from a company that actually does the whole job themselves, so we went online and found a few places and decided to contact Orca Granite and Stone. Long story short, we went with Orca and paid the same as if we'd gone with HD without the sale. They sent us to a distributor in Kent to pick out our slab. This was easy and once we found the one we liked, we got the slab # and batch# and gave this info to Orca. Not every batch is identical. Once Orca got the slab to their shop, we came and selected the portion of the slab we wanted for our counter and where we wanted the sink to be placed. Had we gone with HD, we would not have been able to see the slab or choose the portion for our island and where to place the sink. This was an expensive upgrade to our kitchen and not having any surprises was worth losing the 20% off the actual Quartz, but there is no discount for all the extra add ons at HD. So I don't know what the HD experience would have been and it doesn't matter. My wife and I found this experience to be painless. We met and worked with Stephanie, Mr. White/owner, Ryan, Christopher and Richard and another fellow that I can't remember his name. Everyone, so, easy to work with. The installation day came within three weeks of our contacting Orca. The installation was done by Christopher, Richard and Ryan. From the door to the island and all around it, they laid moving quilts down. They removed to old sink and counter and replaced it with a beautiful customized 8 x 4.5 foot countertop and installed a brand new sink. They did such a good job and when they left, there was ZERO cleanup. If you want no surprises and a pleasant/seamless experience, you'll find it working with Orca Granite & Stone!!!!! I emailed numerous times about a delay in our countertop coming in and never got a response. Called and she said "I don't know why they didn't ship it." She said she would call back and let me know. A week later, no call. I called again and talked to the owner who was snappy but told me my countertops arrived that morning. At templating, the owner was rude and judgy that we were using IKEA cabinets even though we specifically asked about using them in the show room and were told it would not be a problem. When it came time for installation, no one called to set up the appointment. Just said "we are coming Wednesday". In the end I agreed to the day but scheduling together did not happen. Worst of all, After installation $400 dollars worth of multitools were missing from my kitchen. Emailed the office and surprise... no answer! Also, there are spots of resin all over the countertop that won't come off. Super disappointed. Will never use them again. Also it looks like they burned part of the quartz underneath a seam. Shockingly... no answer from the office about that either.

Dates and times specified meant little. Installation of initial product was cancelled 3 days prior to supposed install. Lots of apologies by management for dropping the availability and installation dates but saw little change in behavior. I am a handyman and provided my own tear out, plumbing and electrical. It was a $15k install and we love the material and 1 of the installers. They will have no further contact with me nor I with them. They can call you "Boss" or "Sir" , be polite and cordial in person but disrespect your calendar and timing. Installation may not be completed as your salesperson explains, especially if it is their owner/manager. Beware of their contract requiring full payment well prior to having the material or hardened dates on hand. They may not have installers readily available even though they say they do. I was referred to this company from my plumber since it was a 2-service job. The only problem I had was my new kitchen sink was much bigger, so my granite countertop needed to be custom cut, which was not their scope of work, but with great customer service and management (Michael) was willing to help with me with my project. Overall, I was satisfied with the actual work done and price, my new kitchen sink and faucet looks great. They didn't have much room for error and required precision technique. Part 2, the Plumber was able to reconnect and install new plumbing and disposal.

Before moving forward, I asked several reasonable clarification questions about what was included in the quote, such as removal/disposal, templating, fabrication, delivery, plumbing or appliance reconnection, timeline, etc which was unclear in the quote. Instead of answering those questions, Tom responded in a dismissive and unprofessional way, asking whether I had read the estimate or looked at their website, and saying I could call him if I was "serious about doing business" with them. As a customer, I believe it is completely normal to ask detailed questions before hiring a contractor, especially for a home project involving cost, materials, and installation details. The lack of clear answers and the tone of the response made me lose confidence in moving forward with this company. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company if you expect clear communication and respectful customer service.
