I am finally writing my review after already having several projects done by Kenny and his crew at Alpha. I will continue doing business with them because they just don't miss when it comes to communication, punctuality and quality of work. Kenny is also great at helping me understand advantages and disadvantages of certain options, materials and cost effectiveness. Did I mention that they actually pick up the phone or at least promptly return your calls/texts? I was so used to making several attempts or waiting days for a response from other contractors. Three of the photos are of my short term rental property where Alpha did both a new hardwood install (kitchen/dining room) as well as an original hardwood refinish (rest of home). Although I chose a larger plank size in the kitchen, they were able to transition the old flooring with the new as if it were meant to be. They sanded/refinished the original red oak with a matte Swedish finish topcoat for durability. The matte coating gave a slightly updated look but still beautifully maintained the mid-century element. One photo is of my parent's house where Alpha was able to sand down and refinish 2004 factory pre-finished hardwood flooring. I had no idea but newer, factory pre-finished flooring required much more sanding and detail work compared to older flooring. After many passes and a satin topcoat, the end result was stunning. My parents get compliments all the time and people actually think it's brand new flooring at first. I have other examples I can share but then this would turn into a real essay. Very responsive and efficient! Was able to get an in person quote and within a week of meeting, scheduled the solid hardwood installation. I previously had carpet in a 12X12ish room and already had bought the hardwood. They came and finished in a day and hauled away our old nasty carpet. He's very communicative and exceeded our expectations. I've had experiences with some contractors who never cleaned up after themselves but Kenny and his partner cleaned up and even wiped up the floors after they were done. Took off and reinstalled our baseboards as well. Appreciate the hard work!
