UPSET! My friends and I drove 45 minutes to get our nails done, we arrived when they opened at 10:00AM. When we arrived they had been packed already, an employee told us he would put us on a waiting list to be served within the hour. We came back and they told us to come back again, but when we did we were snubbed multiple times. The same guy who told us "we would be next" multiple times told us he couldn't do us because he had appointments. We ended up waiting for a total of two hours and fifteen minutes. Everyone had said to go to Luu Nails. I've gone 3 times. I went and my nails were crooked and the tools were dirty. I took my younger daughter and pics are attached of what she asked for and what she got. Last straw was when the nail tech told my older, but still young, daughter to shut up. Literally those words. Quite possibly the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever received... To start off, I made an appointment for a pedicure and acrylic fill. I sat in the non-existent waiting space of broken chairs for 30 minutes before they took me back to the pedicure station where I sat for an additional 30 minutes before the girl finally lined and filled the basin. I sat with my feet in the water for about 2 minutes before she rolled over the cart she had just finished using on another client and started on my pedicure without cleaning or sanitizing any of the tools. Disgusting. The entire pedicure process from the second I dipped my feet in the water until I put my shoes back on lasted 15 minutes, tops. When I moved to the acrylic nail station, the guy asked if I got my previous nails done there before. I said no, I just needed a fill and a few replaced, and my friends suggested that I try there instead of my normal salon. He quickly stated that ALL of my nails had to come off and a new set put on or he wasn't going to do them at all. I reluctantly agreed and he started. He spent most of the time on the phone and put very little effort into my set. $95 later, I left with crooked and uneven nails filled with bubbles and uncured polish... I am now 1.5 weeks out from my appointment. The gel polish has entirely chipped off of my toes and four acrylic nails, which he insisted I have redone entirely, have also fallen off after normal wear and daily life. The guy told me my perfectly healthy nails were "very bad" and "gross". Then proceeded to yell at me for not showing him the color and design I wanted until he already put the acrylic on. My friend also had a bad experience with the same thing happening to her. Her lady yelled at her for the same thing, if it's that big of an issue I am unsure as to why they do not ask what design you want in the first place. I was in town for a funeral and my sister and I decided to go to Lulu nails for manicure and pedicure. I have never had such an awful experience at a nail salon in my life. They were very rude and very rushed. The guy that did my pedicure was extremely rough and actually rubbed some skin off the bottom of my foot. To mention that the salon is filthy. My last experience at Luu was horrible. I waited about 45 minutes to get an acrylic fill. Granted, it was a Friday afternoon around 5- probably prime tome for business. When I was sat for my service, I was not with my usual tech, Tony. He is the proprietor and apparently the far superior tech. Andy was not very friendly. He seemed to just want to get the job done- part of me can appreciate this. The problem started when he would take the occasional break to answer a text message. It escalated when he juggled filing my nail and balancing his cell phone between his ear and shoulder. When this became too much, he placed the phone on the desk and proceeded to have a conversation via speakerphone. Never an apology or explanation- I was clearly on his time. Sadly, I will not be returning to Luu Nails. While the work is terrific, the customer service is horrible. read more

Avoid this nail salon. I tried this salon out to try something different and it was a huge mistake. The staff is extremely rude and does not value their customer's business. I came in as a walk-in when there was only two other customer's inside. There were 4 workers there, and I still waited over an hour because the staff likes to talk amongst themselves and the "regulars" that were there and failed to remember they had other people waiting. The staff's kid was running all through the store which is unprofessional in my opinion. Many come to nail salons to feel "pampered" and to relax. Not have a yelling kid running up and down the store. Scheduled an appointment for 6 pm for both me and my mom. 7:40 rolls around and neither of our nails are even started. I ask how much longer it is going to be, and the lady informs me that we're waiting longer because with the design my mother chose, they had to be powder nails and not gel. She also said that I should have said powder nails on the phone. Granted, when I made my appointment nearly two weeks in advance, I did say two gel full sets and NOT one powder, one gel set. However, my mother is 56 years old and honestly does not know the difference between newer styles of of nails and would not know that powder was required. During our waiting period, multiple walk ins are seated and helped before us. This was our first time here so I'm assuming that even though we DID have an appointment, we were not the priority because we were not regulars. However, we certainly would have been if this experience would have gone well. Wonderful customer service. Took me without an appointment close to closing. They do a fantastic job as well. I got pink and white done to my nails, they never chipped or broke off. They even fixed the mistakes done to my friends nails by another local nail salon. They often times give you a discount as well different from what the sign's prices say in store. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! I am new to Johnstown and wanted to get my nails done somewhere locally. I saw that "Luu Nails" was right down the street and went there for my first time and had Tony. At first he seemed fine and got the job done. I went in for a second time to get my acrylics filled and it was a nightmare. I walked in and asked Tony if he could do a fill-in and he was very blunt and demanded me to HURRY and pick a color. As I franticly hurried to pick a color I sat down at his station and he automatically peeled off my nail polish with his fingernails NOT EVEN NAIL POLISH REMOVER! DISGUSTING! I asked him nicely if he could push back my cuticles as other nail salons I previously have gone to usually push them back for you with no extra charge. He rudely replied "No you can do them yourself." I looked at him shocked as if he didn't know how to run a business and I was not getting the service I deserved. I asked him nicely again keeping my composure and said "Couldn't you please just push them back because I am paying to get them done anyhow". He gave me a stank eye, spoke in a different language to his co-worker and told me "The nail salon in the mall down the street would be honored to do them for you not me" I got out of there ASAP and told him I would be leaving a bad review and would never come back.
