    Fireworks in just a few!
    Angela D.

This is a gorgeous venue with a lot of potential for special events and parties. I attended the "Yelloween" party at Lux and while the actual party itself was not that great, I think the venue is quite nice. The view of the Friday night fireworks is great. So how to review Lux At the Trump? I think best way to go is describe the venue and leave the disappointing party out of it. I believe they are two separate things. The outdoor space is really nice but there was little breeze and everyone was in costume so it got pretty hot up there. The DJ was pretty good and the vibe was chill. The bar was underwhelming, however, as they only had the basics and we took our drinks in plastic cups. Oh no, not ok. If I am going to pay $8 for a watery G&T, it should at least be in glass. This is not the beach. Was this situation due to the party or is this how they always serve? I do not know. At some other party, perhaps there would be waiters with food and drinks milling about. That is the type of party that would work well here. But the way this was set up, it just fell short of being fun and seems to not have used the place to its full potential. The promoter was a really nice guy and clearly wanted us to have a good time and rate the place highly. I am sorry I can not give it more than three stars. But I do think the place is nice and were I putting on a fancy party, I might give it a second look.

LUX at the trump party - all white. Great party!!!

Great location! Great models & fashion show! Great host! Great service! Great party! It was my first white party and my second LUX party. It's always well organized and even though there's hundreds of people, no stress, no bad mood, just aloha. It's hard not to meet anybody you know. Everybody's there and enjoying themselves. Girls are looking HOT and guys are all pimped out. Paul Klink is a great host and finds time to talk to almost everybody and makes them feel welcome. Thanks Paul! We had a lot of fun! Will come back and next time bring friends.

Here at Lux at the Trump poping off, literally... Starting thr night off with a bang. Thanks Paul, you Rock!

My mom got tickets for us and my extended family that visited from California and we all had a wonderful time! All of the acts were amazing! I loved the story line of the main character and how true it was to the Hawaiian culture. I don't want to spoil too much of the show. Especially there was a part that I didn't expect at all. It cracked me up so much! But it's definitely worth watching in person! There is a photo op at the end of the show. But I was a bit disappointed that the main guy was not part of it. I would've loved to take a picture with that guy. He was hilarious! I would absolutely love to watch it again one day!

The show itself was spectacular and the theater itself is small so I think every seat you could actually see very well. I sat in the front but there was no need to. So many talented people work in this performance and I am glad I got to see it. What was a slight bummer was that so many people were recording and sometimes their flash would be on the whole time. I feel like you should watch the show and look at the performance more than taking a video and photos.

We got to Waikiki around 7 pm both of the suggested valet parking options on the website were only accepting hotel guests. We decided to park across from the International Market. You have to purchase $25 at one of the businesses, and that business will validate. The first hour is "free", the second hour is $3, and the third hour is $3. We went to Target after the show, purchased more of the items I wanted, and had them validated. Food and drinks: extra $20 minimum per person The food was okay. Nothing stood out to me. We ordered too much and had to bring a lot back home. We ordered: Smoked Ahi Dip ($22)- It came with chips. Citrus Farm Green ($18) Salad Yuzu Lemon Vinaigrette, Shallots, Goat Cheese, Satsuma Orange . I added shrimp (+18). I wouldn't get this again. I ordered the I Got Ube ($18) drink, and I enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet. . One of my son's got the Blue Note Sundae ($16) it's Lappert's Vanilla Mac Nut Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Whipped Cream, Crush Macadamia Nut, Maraschino Cherry. Tiramisu ($16) My kids each got a drink2 cokes and a pineapple juice which cost $5 each. Service: Great! She checked on us often. The staff did great working together to drop off food and take plates away. Seating: There is premium seating or Loge and Bar seating. We purchased premium seating. It's first come first served when it comes to seating. Originally I was aiming to seat in the middle of the booth. Due to coming later then I thought we got a booth at the end. If you seat in the premium seating in the booth you will have people walking in front of you. To me the premium seating right above the booths in the middle is really good seating because it's in the center a step. It was hot in the venue that night and luckily I brought my portable fan. Even Jon Yamasato the singer of Pure Heart even mentioned how hot it was during his show. Video/photography: I read in other reviews they were not able to video or take pictures. I think it depends on the artist. We were able to video and take pictures. Overall, we would come here to watch another show. The service was good. I liked the ambience. The food was okay and next we will eat from somewhere else and get a dessert and drink.

The museum captures the military contributions of Hawaii through history. The building was formally Battery Randolph, built 1911 to house two large guns to protect Honolulu from water attack. The structure is "military structural" in style, and is said to be typical of Taft era construction. The facility was, unfortunately, ineffective at protecting the Island for the air attack on Pearl Harbor and was later deemed unsuitable for modern warfare and decommissioned. Today, the building is a perfect backdrop to tell the story of the US Army and Hawaii. I signed in when I entered and then was free to move about the museum. The museum starts with a description of Battery Randolph and then moves chronologically with artifacts and stories from early Hawaiian warriors up to modern day US war participation. It was interesting to walk through the rooms and tunnels. Be sure to visit the second floor where Hawaiian service people are recognized and see the helicopter and gun up close. Then follow the tunnel back to the front of the museum. A gift shop offers reasonably priced military themed hats, shirts, Legos, books and much more. Plan about two hours to visit. The facility does provide restroom access for guest. The Museum is walkable from any hotel in Waikiki. The facility is accessible though some floors are uneven.

It is located in one of the original coastal artillery battery buildings. We approached the main entry there was a static display of WWII Pacific War implements, on the roof there was a more modern static display. After signing in we started our trek down a long narrow hallway. Exhibits and dioramas were in offshoots from the hallway. It's laid out well and flows between displays. There is a lot of info to take in and it took us almost 2 hrs to complete. The cost is free but the education was invaluable.
