CROOKS! I went in to get a pedicure, soak off of acrylic nails and a new gel set. She did a basic pedicure with a gel overlay. Oh, and while I was getting my pedi, a field mouse kept showing up. While I was getting my nails done, a lady came up to me and said my pedi would be $43. Huh? So, I asked for the price list. There about 5 techs in at the time and everyone went deaf. I kept asking for a price list, and finally one lady said there wasn't one. So, I said "You mean to tell me fish there is no price list in this establishment?" Then, finally they gave me a price list that listed the pedi was $20, I had got a gel overlay and it was $5, so where did $43 come from? She said that she gave me the $30 pedi. I told her that it wasn't up to her to pick what I pay. Then she went on to say because of COVID, there is an additional $3 for every service I had! I told her she should have stated that in the beginning. They finally showed up with 2 separate price lists and neither was accurate and I told them that. Then her and another woman got very loud, irate and unprofessional. All in my face and yelling until one of the techs pulled them away. I told them to call the police but they never did. I would never go back! On top of all that, i had to remind the tech to clean my cuticle and under my Nails! $96, but she agreed to take off $6. I'm actually going to report them to the BBB. In order to have my cuticles cleaned up I was told that would be an extra fee ...There was product left around the outer portion of my nail bed which wasn't cleaned up. So...let me start by saying the male that did my pedicure did a great job. It was the woman that I spoke with upon my entry and exit that I have a complaint about. I have not been to Lux in many years, because I did not have a good experience in the past with their customer service. It came off that they felt they could be rude because they were not hurting for customers. Because I have not visited in years, I asked how much a pedicure cost. I was quoted $50, with gel, because gel was quoted specifically as $10 extra. Upon leaving, I was told my price was $62. I asked for a breakdown, and was told gel was $15. The woman I originally spoke with that quoted me $50, $10 for gel proceeded to go back and forth with me when I reminded her what I was quoted. It's not about the cost, it's about the principle- changing the price and then rudely attempting to go back and forth. Well, I shut that back and forth down by letting her know she did quote me $50 and ending it there. Treat your customers well, even if you aren't hurting for new ones. Thank you! read more

My last experience from being a faithful customer for several months was the last straw. Not only was she rude to me, I was over charged from sloppy work due to her nasty attitude towards me. Let me just say, this place isn't the worst and they have potential but they should definitely consider improving their customer service. When I first walked in, no one greeted me or said anything. I signed the book then stood there with a lady that walked in behind me. I headed to the couch to take a seat then someone finally yelled out can I help you but when I looked around I couldn't tell who was talking. After about 15 mins I was called over to pick my color and told to have a seat. Idk the lady name who did my nails but she was so rude from beginning to end. First, I picked colors with numbers and told her I wanted these colors but in Gel polish. She raises her voice to tell me the colors I picked wasn't gel. I told her I know, but they have numbers meaning you have the same color in gel. So she takes a deep breath and walked over to get what I thought was the gel polish of the colors I picked. Second, After she buffed/filed my nails, I was rubbing the excess off of my hands and she said "stop doing that, No". Next, I washed my hands and paid the $18 she requested. So she paints my nails once then said I don't think this is gel polish. So I asked her would she repaint them and she completely ignored me. And painted another coat then said let's see. So, she had me place my hands under the UV light and the polish started bubbling, I told her and she asked me to move to dry under the fans. I told her this wasn't gel polish and pointed the bubbles out to her and she didn't say a word. She walked away. I sat there about 28 mins while she started doing a pedicure. My nails were already messed up so I just decided to leave. Before I could get to the door, The same lady stops me to tell me I have to pay $3 extra because she forgot to charge me for taking off the first gel polish I had. Making a whole scene. So another employee walked over to figure out why she was charging me again but of course they spoke in their language. I just paid $3 in cash then left. Not one thank you, no apologies, or NOTHING. My very first job when I was 16 was a receptionist at a nail salon. The experience I had at this place was ridiculous. I called yesterday morning and made an appointment for my friend and I at 3:30 this afternoon. We came in and they told us we didn't have an appointment but took down my name and phone number. They wouldn't let us sit beside each other and gave me an attitude the whole time. There was also a sign on the door that said additional $3 for service...??? Unbelievable. i've been going here for a few months and LOVED it (even recommending them to neighbors). they always took great care of me, and the last few visits my gel nails lasted 3+ weeks! however, my impression of them has now changed. during my most recent visit, i went in because three of my gel nails were starting to chip at the top after about a week or less (i used the same color as the time that lasted 3+weeks but a different tech). after waiting an hour (which i was fine with bc i know they're busy), the owner looked at my nails, and told me it was going to be $8 cash. i explained i didn't have cash on me (only a card), and it had not been that long (the first nail actually started chipping after 5 days but i couldn't make it into the salon). regardless, i paid extra for gel nails to have my nails looking nice for at least 2 weeks. the owner became VERY rude to me saying she can't repair everyone's nails every time they come in, she doesn't know what i do and can't follow me around all day (not sure what that was supposed to mean, but i have a desk job so i'm not doing anything out of the ordinary where my nails would chip). she then said something as simple as closing a car door can cause them to chip. she then said it would be $8 cash, $11 credit card or i could file them down myself like the one i already did (i had filed the first one that chipped, but after the next two started going, i wanted them repaired). i didn't say this (although i wish i did) but if closing my car door is going to cause my nails to chip, then i'm definitely going to the wrong place. needless to say i was shocked and angry...i mean i had already waited an hour so i was getting them repaired. i agreed to paying the $11 and the owner told me to go sit at the nail bar so one of the techs could fix them. i understand where the owner is coming from to an extent...she has a business to run. but there's no reason to treat loyal customers that way, and i would think they would care about keeping their customers happy. i have no problem paying for their time, but i felt: 1. i shouldn't be paying extra for gel nails that chipped in less than a week (i pay extra when i first have them done so they last a minimum of 2+ weeks) 2. the price was ridiculous to repair 3 nails and 3. i wish she would have told me when i walked in so i didn't wait an hour...i could have just left and this whole thing would have been avoided (they were aware i was there only to have 3 nails repaired shortly after i walked in). so now i'm torn because i really like this nail salon, but the owner was so disrespectful and rude (which i did see several comments about this on different website reviews). read more

HOWEVER when I got my nails done by ANOTHER lady she was rude, pulling my hand, and while filing my nails she was very rough. She got upset with me because I didn't understand her (your accent is thick and you have on a mask). Since she was upset she had an attitude the entire time. My first time here was awesome. They were nice, I didn't have to wait, very pleased. I've come back at least 4 other times and 3 of the 4 I've left before getting my nails done because I was sick of waiting. They say there isn't a wait but there clearly is. Someone in the back smokes cigarettes and the smell fills the room. No one greets you when you walk in...it's a mess. I understand it's hard when you're busy but I'd rather you be upfront and say there's going to be a wait. So much variety from dope nail designs to flawless brows. Anyone in the area I would recommend this place first. You wont be disappointed. I had my few run ins with bad salons in the area but this salon sets the tone. I was missing such a good nail salon experience and got the best one here from start to finish. My nail tech was beyond rude. I asked for the shape of my nail to be square with rounded edges just a little bit. She gave me an attitude and did the exact opposite of what I asked. I'm usually very nice when it comes to this type of stuff but I asked her over and over again not to give me a coffin shape. She told me that she was a nail tech and to just let her do her job. I am paying you to do the job that I want done. I hate leaving bad reviews but this made me so upset. She also charged me 15 extra dollars and gave me gel when I did not ask for gel. The sign says that a full set is $35 - $25. It also says gel is an extra five dollars. Where in that should I have paid 15 more dollars. My nails look okay but I do not recommend coming to this nail salon. Also for reference my nails are very active length and are not long at all. I know most nail salons will charge more for longer nails, which is understandable. Every time I questioned what she was doing or asked for anything she gave me an attitude. Also when I got there they told me the wait was 10 minutes and they didn't start working on my nails until an hour later. My friend also went with me and she got a pedicure that was $33 plus gel that was $5 and her total was $48 for who knows what reason. VERY unhappy with my experience do not recommend. read more

I said something to her for being rude and she barked back being rude to me. They have a sign that they can refuse service to anyone so it gives me the idea that there have been problems before. Then the ladies at the salon told us we would be charged $5.00 dollars more for cutting our nails and shaping our nails even though we were paying $30 dollars for a gel manicure. I have never been to a place that did this, so I fought it. The point of a manicure is having professionals shape and cut your nails, so why would you pay extra for this. After I argued this, the lady doing my nails got mad at me and was rude the rest of the time. My other friends did not fight it and they were charged extra. Absurd. This place is great! The only reason I had to give it 4 stars is because of the wait time. I waited about 35 mins total - 20 or so of those minutes in the chair with my feet in the water, and I saw a lot of other people waiting long times as well. The pedicure I received was fantastic though! My feet were in rough shape and she dove right in and really helped me out! I really appreciated the level of professionalism at this salon as well. There wasn't a lot of chatter and laughter that can normally make you feel a bit self conscious. It's a big thing to expose your feet to someone, especially when they're not in good shape, but my pedicurist didn't make me feel uncomfortable or self conscious. She was very friendly and professional and the water she gave me was a nice touch! There chairs are some of the best massage chairs I've sat in at a salon and the also have USB's for you to be able to charge your phone! I love that! The atmosphere and decor is really high-end and pretty, making you feel like your In a fancier boutique salon in LA , you almost forget your in Greenville. Went to this shop on June 3, 2018 which is owned by the same people who run Mylee Nails by Target on Evans Street and received terrible customer service. Salon was pretty, but nasty disrespectful workers. Went in with my daughter to have a pedicure and eyebrow wax done. Recognized Nail Tech from other store that did eyebrows and requested her to do wax. Rude young girl who sat a the front station told us to go in the back to another tech. She walked up and we told her we requested the older lady up front. She threw her hand up to us like " get on back to the front then". When I walked back to the waiting area I said to my daughter, " I don't like the attitude or customer service of this place". The young girl at front said, " what". Then she tried to say she though it was just for me but in fact she heard me say my daughter and me. I decided it was time to leave because I did not have to stay since this was not a free service and my daughter was paying. We got up and left and went to Rose Nails beside Pitt. Community which was much pleasant. I spoke to a friend who was in the salon when I arrived at Lux and she said she wasn't going back either because the young girl was jerking on a clients hands while doing her nails. Plus, I have heard that they fuss with the clients and the salon employees think that women really need them when in fact there is a Nail Salon on every corner. Take my advice, "DON'T GO THERE", get your nails done where you are in a professional atmosphere. read more
