This gift certificate was paid for in cash and I made sure at point of purchase that this gift certificate was not going to expire. Today my wife went into the store to redeem the gift certificate, they accepted it before they rendered any services. Once the services were rendered the owner challenged the gift certificate and demanded cash payment instead, to which my wife refused. At this point the owner of this began a tirade of verbal abuse and profanity, claiming that the gift certificate was fake and he was not going to let my wife cheat him out of $50. Extremely unprofessional, made very rude comments to my wife and her friend both of which were mortified by his behavior. He is flat out breaking the law when it comes to compliance with gift certificate statutes in the state of North Carolina. Gift certificates are good for their face value for a period of three years after point of sale, this gift certificate was purchase on 12/23/2015, it was valid until 12/23/2018.
