I desperately needed a pedicure and I am here out of town. I like places that are at least rated 4 stars but I tried Lux Nails because the storefront looked very nice! They deserve more credit!! Clean feeling inside. Mask and temperature check. Plastic shields at every station. I felt safe. A very nice man at the front desk took me as a walk in and set me up in the chair. My partner and I went in yesterday day for mani&pedi. Our appointment was at 4pm the lady who did my toes I kept having to tell her to cut the nail low. My feet still had dead skin showing even after paying for an organic Jasmin pedi. She also rushed my nails. They are all not even and my nail beds look terrible. The other lady did not clean my partner's nails good at all and not polish at the end. I called and let them know we felt rushed and did not receive quality service for what we paid. They said we can only come in today, and I explained we got our nails done last night because we are on our way out of town. I've been to multiple places and the quality I receive on my nails is great. They are thinner than some but last longer. I'm a meat cutter so I work with my hands all day. They also don't make me wait a half hour for my scheduled appointment. You need to definitely try them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Decided on coming to a new nail salon to get my nails done for prom and was very excited when someone suggested I go to Lux. Despite my excitement, a girl I believe who's name is Stephanie, was very rude and rushing through my appointment. My full set looked very nice, but as soon as she had gotten to my pedicure she had nicked my toe and it began bleeding. She was trying to laugh it off with her coworkers, but I found nothing funny. Stopped in for a last minute pedicure, and will definitely come again! They were able to get me in right away, even though I had to wait a few minutes to get started I was able to sit in the massage chair with a relaxing foot bath while I waited. I was informed they recently remodeled, and it looks great! Very clean and bright with reasonable prices, and as an added bonus, the staff was very friendly! I did the rose pedicure. Walked in for a pedicure and they got me right in! Floors and chairs were very clean. The foot baths were new, and they give you the file/scrubby after they use it (out of a sealed package) so you know they're not being reused. Not the hugest selection of colors, but all OPI. Made an appointment, close to an hour to be told by 2 workers they would be right with me and a 3rd worker to tell me they would not be willing to fix a broken nail because they will not use dip on a single nail, I would have to get a full new set! I had an appointment for a manicure with shellac and asked if she could adad design to each ring nail. if never had my nails done this bad. the polish doesn't have enough coats on them, almost every nail is angled at a diagonal and not straight and the design she decided to give me was a dandelion STICKER! After 3 places turned my friend Yas and I down, we came to Lux. The man got us in quickly, without an appointment, and told us to pick a color for our shellac nails. After 5 minutes, we went up to the front. We were then told, by a woman employee, we would need to wait another 10-15 minutes that he went on his lunch break. And that we would have to wait until he's done eating. We weren't pleased by this bad timing, but we happily waited. I wanted a red, but coffin shaped. He started on my nails, did not cut the hangnails, or clip my finger nails AT ALL. You could tell he was rushing. It wasn't even 3 o'clock. (They made Yasmyn sit there the entire time watching me get my nails done, while there were other workers in the back or on their phones.) He glued the skin to my actual SKIN once, and when confronted, he denied. "No that is not your skin. It's fine." And that was the ONLY time he spoke to me. He was just yanking my hand the entire time. After a pretty terrible job, HE STILL DID NOT MOISTURIZE my hands NOR give a hand massage like I normally would at PT Nails. Not to mention my shellac nails were UNEVEN and NOT COFFIN SHAPED. They were thick and unpleasant to the eye. I actually had to go to PT immediately after so they could fix them. Bless PT in North Muskegon! Rude customer service at Lux Nails. Terrible job. At least for me and my friend: 0/10 would NOT recommend. read more

May 25, 2018. I walked into the salon at 2:45 pm. I only wanted a pedicure. There were 4 chairs open. I have seen it busier. Only one other person waiting. I was asked to come back at 3:15. So I left and did a little shopping down the strip. I came back at 3:00. I could wait 15 min. The gentleman who is always there, got a tub ready in the back corner and put me there. It was 3:05. I watched 4 people come in, get put in chairs/tubs and get worked on within 10 min of walking in the door. I was getting extremely upset. At 3:40 I asked for a towel to dry my feet because I had to leave. I have NEVER been treated this way. I have NEVER seen how scrappy this salon has gotten. I have been going here since it opened in this location. I WILL NOT BE BACK. NEITHER WILL MY TWO DAUGHTERS. AND I WILL BE SURE TO SHARE MY STORY WITH ALL OF MY FRIENDS. I went Lux nail spa today because the nail place I used to go to had closed. They got me in fairly quick without an appointment. They weren't terribly friendly, mostly talking to each other in their language and working on their customers while barely speaking to them. One worker actually took a call from her child, on speaker phone, while working on a customer's nails. The nail equipment didn't seem to be sterilized between customers, like my old place did. The person who worked on my nails did not massage my hands, or even make sure my hands were moisturized. My nails turned out okay. Not as neat as they usually are, but okay. When done, the workers just send you to the sink to wash your hands. They do not tell you how to use the strange faucet, where the towels are (in a drawer), or to put the dirty towels under the Sink. I will look elsewhere next time. read more

I paid good money for a deluxe pedicure but am truly unsatisfied. As the technician began, I quickly had to ask her to be gentle for the first time. As the pedicure progressed I had to ask a second time to be more gentle I then began to have a simple manicure and it was as if she forgot who I was because she just lost complete track of my request for softer care of me as a human. She had an apologetic nature to her reminding, but really? I asked for less rough treatment not but 15 minutes ago and you forgot already? I proceeded to get a nick on one of my fingers for cuticle cutting roughness and she dropped some blue liquid on my finger because she nicked it open. In my mind, that's three strikes! It is now the day after being a customer here and I am having serious issue with my big toe ballooning up to become ingrown and swollen painful, throbbing quick. Literally struggling to walk normally and am peeved. I intend to return to this location to voice this discontent in person. But this epic shit show had to be cataloged. read more

I have been a customer here for a while, when they owned Paris Nails and it is great that they know my name and the prices are not bad. But I feel that they get you in and out as quickly as they can without paying attention to the details of the current customer at hand. My latest experience was disappointing. I got a natural manicure and three days later the polish had already chipped. There are ripples in the nail polish from not properly drying and the color they removed can still be seen around my cuticles. Disappointing and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I have had pink and white done for years and have been almost everywhere between Muskegon and Grand Rapids and this is the ONLY place that pays attention to detail and listens to their customers. It literally took 2 hours to get a mani pedi, I mean they were busy but the receptionist told me 5 min wait and I waited for 20 mins. My pedicure and my manicure were not done well they didn't paint the sides of some of my nails and my French tips were sooo uneven. Also no one wiped out the pedicure station I was using before the next person used it. The tools they used were not cleaned either the guy was wiping dead skin off of the cuticle cutters before he used them in me!!! read more

This is an unbiased fair review. I get my nails done every other month. Sometimes I get gel, sometimes acrylic. I am always looking for cool designs on youtube to bring into the salon to see if they can do it. I have been to absolutely every single nail salon in Muskegon and some of North Muskegon. PT Nails & Spa 1906 Holton Road, Suite B Muskegon, Michigan most recently. Time before that Beauty Nails & Spa 1848 E Sherman Blvd # E Muskegon, MI 49444 and Lux Nails prior to them. Lux nails have always been very friendly to me but I am also respectful in not pulling out my cell phone and expect the same from them. Not once have I ever had an issue here with them doing anything with their cell phone while waiting on me. They go out of their way to accommodate my youtube designs and I do not know what it is but when I get a gel set here it lasts for months!! Other places I'm lucky to go 2 weeks without the outgrowth driving me crazy. I would try to blame that on sometimes my nails grow faster than other times but I've gone to each of these places a few times each and Lux is just a better quality. That's all I can come up with. Price was about $45 for gel set w/a powder polish that lasted forever! "There was a prev. comment about not being told how to use the sink. I suppose I was also intimidated by :the sink" however guess I'm mature enough or not that shy to just ask. Believe me, I have to ask at every single salon so I'm getting better about paying attention to the other customers around me that are weekly guru's. I honestly have not seen one nail salon be more sanitary than another in Muskegon but in Las Vegas it is a completely different experience however it is also a completely different price. This is one of the few places I have felt comfortable enough to get a pedicure. I hate my legs and feet touched. Very soothing and relaxing. In fact, I think I'll go there today to relax- had a rough week at work and my feet could cut a wood floor just by walking across it. lol Hope this helps in deciding where you would like to go. read more

Unsatisfied customer.....seriously overcharged for services that I didn't even order. They actually charged an additional $5 to remove polish from my feet when I ordered a pedicure.They cut me and my grand daughter. On my way out after overcharging, they stopped me and charged me an additional $20. I will never never never go back. read more

I got acrylics and when he was using the electric file, he made most of my cuticles bleed, not all, but at least 6 or 7 of my cuticles were bleeding - my thumbs were bleeding kind of a lot. The polish job was very thin and streaky. I actually had to ask him to touch up a nail because there was a GIANT streak down the middle, as if he didn't see it... and the worst part - they only lasted 4 days! I am a big time nail biter, so I do bite a little on the fake nails, but never bit and broken a fake nail 4 days after I got them. My nails usually last me 1.5 to 2 weeks even with my LIGHT nail biting - it's not like I sit there and bite super hard. But these nails only last 4 days and I could tell that they were a little thin and uneven of a file job after I got them. Besides that, the polish was already starting to chip and they didn't even cap the free-edge! read more
