I am disappointed with my recent experience at this salon. I arrived on time for a scheduled appointment, but was kept waiting for over 40 minutes without clear communication or acknowledgment of the delay. Understanding that unforeseen circumstances can arise, I respectfully inquired whether any accommodation could be made in light of the extended wait time. Unfortunately, my concern was met with a confrontational and dismissive response from the manager, rather than a professional effort to address the situation. Punctuality and customer service are essential in a service-based business. While occasional delays may be unavoidable, how those situations are handled makes a significant difference. Regrettably, I did not feel my time or business was valued during this visit. I hope the salon takes this feedback into consideration to improve future client experiences. #1 I had a mani & pedi and the pedi tech told me to remember the number of the mani color and took the sample away. They should NOT expect the customer to remember the number. It is their job to ensure they apply the color chosen. #2 When it was time for the mani I told him the color was not what I had chosen. He ignored me. I said it again, and he pointed to the number and said that was the number I told him. I said possibly I remembered the number wrong, but it was definitely NOT the color I chose. He continued to ignore me and I ended up with pepto bismol pink!!! If the customer says that the color being applied is not the color they chose they need to LISTEN and make it right. This salon is not what it used to be when Mala owned it. There are a few techs who do a decent job, but even when you make an appointment they have someone else do your nails. One woman that did my manicure did not allow the shellac to cure, but kept slathering more on. By the time I got home it was a disaster. I had to return the next day and have it completely redone. The next two times I ended up with her again, with similar results. I've given less blood at a medical lab. Do yourself a favor. If you do not have a favorite tech there that honors your appts., take your money somewhere else. read more

They would not honor a $100 gift certificate that was dated 14 months ago. Federal law says they have to honor them for 5 years. I had a manicure and a pedicure. my thumb had a big chip before the end of the day. I went back the next day and they said too busy can you come back. I will pay someone else to fix it. read more

Decided to give this a second chance after a bad cut a few months ago during a pedicure. Welp, this is by far the worst manicure I've had. Staff is not welcoming, engaging or cordial. Had Tony as my nail tech yesterday... he was extremely rude, short, was on his phone FaceTiming or on Instagram live the entire time, didn't apply lotion or massage my hands. That VERY NIGHT my nails were already peeling because he didn't wait 60 seconds for the gel to set. Told me to go wash my hands and had somebody else in my seat where my purse and phone were before I even got back. I said thank you and he didn't even respond. After that, the guy that did my set was live streaming me without my permission. Horrible experience today getting a mani/pedi ... the male technician who did my nails today was very short and unfriendly .. he seemed very rushed and would not listen to what I wanted done .. He wouldn't allow the shellac 60 seconds in between layers in order to set .. also he left me sitting there when he was complete and began working on another client without applying cuticle oil/lotion to my hands .. he stated someone else would be by to massage my hands and apply lotion!! When I complained about this nothing was done .. a few hours after getting home my nails began to bubble and peel! The man hardly worked on my actual feet. He did my pedicure in about 30 minutes. This was a very expensive pedicure. The manicure was just ok. He did about a 10 second massage on each hand. I had been going to Thai cottage for 6 years. I loved their service. 16 months ago I went for a pedicure and manicure the week of my daughter's wedding. The girl, (first time I had her do my pedicure and manicure) accidentally stabbed the side of my big toe. my sister and others saw it happen. it burned putting it back in the water. I cried out and said I'm cut. then she did my manicure and my thumb started bleeding as she cut off too much cuticle. Others around me gasped. I complained and they said I still had to pay. I asked for a manager, he wasn't there. I went back 2 times to tell them my complaint. The manager didn't seem to care. "no refunds". wrote a letter. no word....I tried them again a few months ago. the girl who did my pedicure scrubbed so hard that my foot bled. They should have apologized and punished the girls with no payment. I'm so bummed they didn't care. I had to wear a bandaid on my toe for my daughter's wedding and it was still painful. read more

First time in years I went to a nail salon. I should have known something wasn't right when we had an appointment and still had to wait 45 minutes. My daughter got a manicure which looked good but I told them twice just a regular manicure and she picked out her polish but they had her pick a different polish, a shellac polish, $$. I had a very disappointing experience here. I went with a few others ladies to get our nails done and they all had a wonderful experience with the ladies that did their nails. I got a full set done by a male employee that worked there. There was no cleaning measures in place he jumped from one lady to me without washing hands and sanitizing tools. He used the same dirty tools he used on the lady before me and did not have me wash my hands after putting the acrylic nails on. He did not wash his hands once and drilled my cuticles off which resulted in me having several cuts around my nails. I got my nails taken off and now I have a fugal infection on two of my nails from the dirty tools used. Be aware of the cleaning procedures and make sure you get clean tools and someone who sanitizes! read more

Was not happy at all. Went there with no appointment, made an appointment an hour out. Went to have lunch and came back only to wait another hour and then be told they didnt have time to do my nails because someones mom came with them for a manicure(with no appointment) and they had to squeeze her in. As much as I loved the staff here, I cannot say I was impressed with the job they did to my nails & the waiting. My mom & I made an appointment for 11:40, when we got there our names weren't written down and it was very unorganized. We finally got to start at around 12:00, but only one lady was doing our nails. So as I was getting mine done, my mom was sitting there for a good hour before anyone got to her nails. When I was done with my pedicure I was taken to go get my fingernails painted with shellac. The lady that did them, I felt was so stressed and wasn't doing a very good job. They looked pretty good when I left the shop, but as soon as I got home I realized they were extremely blotchy & started peeling the next day. I had a French manicure done just over a week ago. Just below the nail my skin was itchy. My nails felt tight and the pads of my finger were swollen. I waited to see if those sensations went away which they did in about 4 days. Today on the 8th day after having a manicure the cuticles look terrible and the skin is peeling all around and under the nail. Just went back in and tried to discreetly ask to talk to someone. A woman came over and told me it was because my skin was dry. I have never ever had this issue over many years of manicures and in several different states. So I was standing in front of a woman who just kept asking me who did my nails. They would not take responsibility or even offer to redo the manicure. I didn't expect that but I wanted them to know that a product(s) they are using may be caustic. I was told again it's just because my skin was dry. Beware. They only take appointments but overbook. I had to wait 40 minutes while my feet were soaking for someone to come. My feet were soggy and the water was cold. If you only take appointments, then you should honor the spot reserved and not hedge by booking more than you can handle. I went there for the first time to get a pedicure, they seemed to have good prices. Before starting my pedicure the gentleman asked me if I was getting gel or shellac and I said no just regular nail polish. It had been a while so I wanted to treat myself so I got the best luxury pedicure!! He went so fast, he did not put any effort into any of the steps. And he did not wrap my feet in the hot towel, all he did was wipe my legs off with it. Then after all it was all done, he gives me the price and it's $10 more then what he said to begin with. So I said why is it so much and he said, $10 extra for the Shellac!!!!! And I said I told you I wanted regular nail polish. So I guess I would say be careful, I thought I was upfront with what I wanted and he decided to tack on extra money. Which I did pay btw, but unfortunately I will not be back and I will be sure to let everybody know. Save ur money, go to somebody who cares about their job, and does it well. So happy to find an amazing nail salon in Muskegon! I have been to numerous nail salons and my nails always look good initially and then chip pretty regularly within a day or two. At this salon I felt like the manicurist were detail oriented and both times I have gone they take a few extra moments after each layer to reevaluate everything and have fixed and reified Cowen if they felt it wasn't us to their standard. Just had a mani/pedis here and it was fabulous. Pleasant, quiet environment. The spa is tasteful, elegant yet simple. I got their manicure for only $14 and best pedicure with massage, scrub etc. For $36. Regardless pedi is $27. Really, really nice and I highly recommend this place. It is a Tues afternoon and surprisingly busy. They do waxs and massage too. I am from out of state or I would love to go back and try massage. read more

I happened upon this very peaceful salon while in the Lakes Mall area today. Actually using YELP for my choice, I was welcomed as a "walk-in" and given an exceptional pedicure by the owner, Mala. The salon is very clean, pleasant and had soft music. The chairs are comfy and the tubs use disposable liners for cleanliness. I would highly recommend this salon. read more

My mom and I decided to check out this place today and we were both pleasantly surprised! I would give this place 5 stars, but when we first arrived, there was no one at the reception desk to greet us and ask us if we had an appointment (although a lady did assist us shortly after). We waited an average 5-10 minutes to be seated which gave us plenty of time to choose a color. The ladies who did our nails were friendly, yet professional and did a wonderful job!
