We are both getting fills and he does not shape my nails at all and files part of the corner of my nail off so it just crooked and messed up. ever since this lux nail bought star nail. I'd gone down hill. I went in for coffin nails got almo nd shape then he made them so short they made my fingers look weird . I tried it one more time after that and he burnt my nail he filed and drilled to far down. he didn't do the color or design I wanted. the place is just the worst. They only get 1 star n that is for the 2 guys that work there. The woman who says she owns it did a HORRIBLE rushed job and was rude .and out of 5 sets she did 3 and charged almost 300 dollars. I have another gift certificate for my daughter and im praying she gets Michael bc if she is put in the woman's chair ill have to take the loss on the gc. Do not go! Paid $30 For a pedicure Pretty much got a change of nail color. Didn't even remove old nail polish all the way. When I asked about it right before she was about to apply the base coat she used a file to sand it off . Then swiped the base coat on sideways only hitting the middle of the nail. Not much cuticile clipping, didn't clean under nails, heel buffing was just running over the heel with no pressure, Massage was 30 seconds felt as light as a feather.Plus Very Rude! So maybe I'm just spoiled by my regular nail salon but this place just was not great. I live out of town and was only in Dixon to visit family but decided to find somewhere to get my nails done. I came here to get a gel (no chip) manicure and a pedicure. They had a decent color selection but everything else kind of sucked. I sat down for my pedicure and the guy gave me a card with three pedicure options. He suggests I go with the middle one, says "You will love the middle one. $45." At home, I usually pay $25-30 for an amazing pedicure so I'm thinking for $45 in this no where town, this is going to be fantastic!" It was just not good at all. It was super rushed, and for no reason at all, I was literally the only person there on a Saturday afternoon so it's not like they had to keep the line moving. And there also wasn't much to the pedicure at all. The guy just spent 15 minutes sloppily rubbing some cheap, greasy lotion on my legs. There was no attention paid to my feet and no effort to exfoliate, buff or anything. It makes me really wonder what the basic/first tier pedicure would entail! I'm telling you, guys, I am someone that doesn't mind spending money on extras, but this was NOT a $45 pedicure. The gel manicure: I liked the color I got. But I realized after I left that my nails were still tacky as if the gel was old or hadn't dried properly. A week later they still have a bit of "stick" to them. Also, under the light, you can see the brush strokes in the polish. They're pretty shiny still, but you can see the little lines of the brush strokes. I don't even know how this happens, maybe the polish was super old/thick? I have been getting gel manicures every two weeks for at least six years and have never seen this happen. Also, here I am six days later and the corners of my nails are starting to slightly, but noticeably chip. I haven't dont anything particularly abusive to them, just every day life kind of stuff and here they are starting to chip when I can usually go two weeks without a problem. I cannot believe I paid $80 for such a crap experience. On the bright side, however, I have a new appreciation for my regular nail spot and have learned not to stray from a good thing. read more
